My teacher says that I have a lot of talent and I get to play w/ older kids but u must be a music prodogy to be able to play that well after two months! Ur awesome! Sooo inspireing! • not bad ...

  • did you teach yourself....if so..how

  • where can we find free solo sheets for alto saxophone?

  • I also play Alto Saxophone. Great solo. For playing for only two months, intonation was very good. Only problem I can hear is articulation issues and pitch was a little unstable. I don't know the original song though very well. lol. I am sure you are much better now. And being able to play the notes D and higher with the palm keys isn't easy at months. It took me forever to get those.

  • Congratulations, fantastic playing you, you could get me the sheet music of this song (YOUR SONG)??. My email is luribeiropestana@gmail.com

  • use alternate C# fingerings. and dont lift your thumb off the octave key all the way, but pretty good sound

  • Very nice!

  • i believe that is a blessing. i have an almost identicle model.

  • Yamaha?

So you are using a Cranes student sax? Im stuck with a vito :P

  • @Niteowl0108 V16 size 2 is a reed :P.

So you are using a Cranes student sax? Im stuck with a vito :P

And as a two year player should I invest in a yamaha?

  • Thats intirely up to u!! I thought I would invest!! But hey, Im in my middle thirties etc!! lol... I ain't got a teacher, and aint going to playing anything else.. so decided to spoil myself :-))

  • Guest Spot -Great Ballads

  • @Niteowl0108 hey do u know what key your playing in ?

  • @Jazell95

    D Major - 2 Sharps F and C

  • you go girl that sounds awsome i am learning the alto sax im pretty good but you make me look like someone who dosent know how to play d flat

  • good.... very good!!!

  • been playing Alto 5 years now and definitely didn't play that good at 2 months wow.

  • @rob5096 hell yeah dude ive been at it for 6 years and this is phenominal.

  • some parts u slured to much it cant be part of da music

  • I only watched the first minute of that and that was very, very impressive for only two months!! I can only imagine what you are doing now, that's great progress.

I've been playing for four years now, I've played Tenor and Bari. Sax, but Alto mostly.

What are you struggling with exactly, I might be able to give some tips. Plus, I didn't even know they made 2 reeds, but yeah I play on 2 and a half and 3's.

    Nice work!

  • Damn ur gd :) I've been playing for two days and I can play rule britannia it's a verry simple song:) anyway what are those sweet sweet notes ur playin it would be verry appreciated if u could tell:)

  • you know Elton John was gay right...

  • @polo9995 But he can sing and play the piano amazingly well and thats all that matters :)

  • That's a great sound for only 2 months, I've been playing for about 5 years :D

    Nice song :D

  • Gj! I am an oboe player and I want to change to Sax. What kind of sax should I buy for starters?

  • @cristiungurianu If you are planning to switch to sax then you should start with the Alto sax. It's pretty much the easiest to play while just learning the fingerings. Then later on about a year after you learn everything, you could have a better chance at trying tenor or bari.

  • @XxchristianforevaxX Tnx a lot 8-)

  • Can I Get The Notes For This Song? Please? I Will Deeply Appreciate It.

  • You can play like that in two months? I've wanted a sax for the last 18 years and it looks like I'm finally able to afford one. Now I'm afraid I'm going to suck at it, but this is a hopeful sign. And congratulations. Great playing.

  • iv been playin since i was iv beeing playin for 3 years and u sound rlly good so far keep it up

  • i thought you were good so i thought if you can do this in 2 months what can i achieve. any way i tried to play along. got some notes lol

  • i love this song and i play the alto as well

may i know where you got the sheet music from?

  • Beautiful solo :)

  • with a cherry on top!

  • preaty please!

  • please!

  • can i please have the sheet music!!!!!?????????

  • very nice sound u have in your sax too only have played in one year and 2 months ^^

i dont know how good u r now...but on this video u have really something ;) and u should keep playing sax and keep training ;)

    cheers

  • Yur makin' me jealous. :( nice job!

  • Seriously, just two months??? Keep it up!

  • you must have played a wood wind instrument before this, but this was great. what type of reed are you using like a 3 an a half or 3 or what. I've been playing for six months and can't get a sound like that

  • Nope! Been playing a Year and 2 Months now since you posted this comment! At the time of recording this I had only been playing 2 Mths - honest Truth! Reeds I am now using are Vandoren V 16 size 2 and half, back then it was a 2. I have never played a Reed Instrument before but I did use to play the Eb Bass (Tuba). Gave is up roughly 10 years ago!!! So yeah I am pleased with my progress, but struggling now as trying to learn different techniques. Need A teacher!!!! HELP!!!!!!

  • @Niteowl0108 I've been playing for about 8 years and getting such a sweet sound in such a short time is very good. Vandoren reeds are very nice and is probably one of the reasons you have such great sound quality. The Alto Sax. is an extremely easy instrument to learn. If you've ever played the recorder, it's almost exactly the same.

  • @anihilatorize

It looks like they're using a Rovner ligature, which will contribute strongly to their sound. Mouthpieces will too, but what mouthpiece they're using is hard to distinguish from this video. Getting a decent ligature and mouthpiece is an awesome investment. It would probaly cost about 200-250 dollars for both together. Rovner ligatures are great, and Vandoren mouthpieces are excellent also. Vandoren has awesome reeds too.

  • great tone, a few of the higher notes were just a tad flat though. Tighten your mouth up a bit, that might help. And actually looking up with your eyes might actually help lol, as silly as that sounds. But really, great work, keep it up

  • not to try and make this guy look bad or anything, but im pretty sure he played a woodwind instrument like clarinet before, because there's no way in hell that you can get a sound like that in 2 months, he must have played some type of clarinet or something before. you cant just have that sound after only 2 months of legit woodwind beginners

  • if u hold the 3rd finger on your left hand down or either just the side middle key for your c#, they will be more in tune. also firm up just a tad bit more and you'll be ok... u r very very gud for just playing 4 2 months!! :)

  • great job i am just starting 2 learn 2 play the sax so hopfully i will learn 2 play like that :)

  • plz help me anyone where can i get music for this?? this is very urgent!!!

i will subscribe to anyone that gives me music for this PLEASE!!!!!

  • Omg ! Ive been playing for 3 years now, I year on tenor and now alto, Youre really good, carry it on

  • can u upload the sheet music?

  • hey dude i dont know when you up ;oaded this vid but ive been playin 4 2 years and i had the 3rd best region band audition for alto saxophone out of my entire school and i got to say im hearin magic when u play but u need to b good at the 7 or 12 scales and just play every thing you can get your hands on. so haha yea thats what i do n when i figure out how 2 up load vids ill have some of me playin but like i said just learn the scales n play n e thin u can find good luck

  • i think u schut stand up if u play

    the sound will 10x bether

anyway great job for 2 months keep it up and you wil become famous :-)

  • you have a phenomenal tone for only two months of playing. sounds like you practice a lot of long tones. keep doing that. i think you're gonna be pretty incredible if you keep this pace. naturally i can hear the hesitation in your fingers, which can be fixed with some exercises, and be sure to watch your pitch on the higher notes. when going up, most people tend to pinch the reed but you need to open your throat more and keep the air flowing. otherwise, it sounded great, keep it up :]

  • i play that in music class, and once you get used to all the keys, its REALLY easy, i thought it was hard when i first started, but after a couple weeks i knew where my fingers should go.. good job..

  • i want to learn to play the sax, the alto 2, im violin player, piano, gutiar, and glockenspeil

  • Well done, nice to hear it on the sax!

  • hey would you mind giving me the music sheet?? i'd like to play it in my mom's birthday but i can't find it. thanks!

  • I played sax back in HS, that was 4 years ago, I love to listen to others play, as it makes me pick mine back up an make some muzak

  • Thanks - nice to hear it gives you the encouragement to play again :- )

  • I was wondering where you get your music from? As I am trying to find somewhere reliable. but not go to the local music shop to pay for over priced songs.. ie robert m sides..

  • where can i get a copy of this

    i'm looking everywhere

  • Guest Spot Books

  • i just started saxophone if im so good like you in 2 month it will be aweasome!!!

  • Thanks! plenty of practice - and you'll get there to - if not better!!!

  • Great playing again...What sax is that you have there?

  • Believe it or not Cranes Student Sax- but now just purchased a Yamaha Yas 62 wat a difference!!! I love playing!

  • kool i can play that [i play sax in my school band] also when im mad i make a really annoyin sound with my mouthpeice to annoy me nejibors :)

  • Dood Not Even Mi...n I Have Been PLaiin 4 Almost a Year...Keep It Up Man...

  • great playing for only two months!!! Keep it up man

  • Thanks Hun!!

  • wow!

  • you're awesome. great playing!

  • Thanks! :-)

  • PASS ME THE NOTES PLEASE

  • got my sax today, if i am anywhere near as good as that after 2 months i will be chuffed to bits!!

  • do you now a song called circle of life from the lion king if you do could you play it and show how to play it step by step

  • good vibrato and decent sound quality, get a little more mouthpiece in your mouth to get rid of all squeaks. And watch your tempo, you slow down at dynamic climaxes a little too much.

  • yaa it really good but dont breathe after such little notes but nice job also i see it doesnt go past a high b if u have any extra piece of that would to mind to send it to me

  • You're very good ! I'm able to play it like that me too ;) you got it better dans me LOL

  • This is really good! Ill leave another comment when i get my version up but that might not be for a while because im trying to get a new cannonball sax

  • Where did you get the sheet music for this!? I've been looking EVERYWHERE!!! :)

  • what is the mouth piece you are using? I got a sax last month but can only blow 3 notes so far

  • Using a Yamaha C4 and Vandoren V16 Reed size 2

  • simply amazing.

  • great man ,,keep going like that ,,youre musical ,,better get rid of the notes and learn to play at heart from the start

  • try to get a selmer sax im not big on brands but the best saxophones i've ever played have all been selmers

  • nice! and what geeee said is true, its wierd , seeming to stand, but i know its real helpfull , like if your nervus and not breathing well( like if ur preforming or sumthing) any way keep up the good work i dont think i was that good at 2 months, but now ive been playing for like 4 years

  • NICE!

I just got into band and i chose the alto sax!

It's a little hard for me.

    YOU WERE GREAT!!!

  • i here ya

  • hmmm, you can used vibratos and your breath capacity is pretty good, is this your first time playing a wind instrument? Cause if it is, you are the best player I ever seen in my life...

  • ive been playing sax for 3 years now, and a helpful tip is to play standing up whenever possible - it means that more air can get into your lungs which means you can get a better sound out of it. You are way better than when i was at two months. Keep practicing and it's such an easy instrument to pick up and you will be PERFECT in no time (:

  • good..tks

  • i played my alto for 1.5 years so far and you r realy good

  • Thanks!

  • hey you are a great sax player I play alto sax also but I am not that good.

what brand saxophone do you have

  • Hi Thanks! The sax im am playing is made by Cranes - just your norm Student Sax, but I would love to be able to get a Yamaha YAS 62!

  • nice...

i want to learn alto saxophone...

but alto saxophone seems to be quite a expensive instrument......

  • Nice !!!

  • i've been playing for almost 2 years now and omg, thats better than i can do

  • very good for two months the main thing i would suggest is keeping your fingers on the keys i had the same problem

  • I hope I do that well in two months! Just got my first alto sax. Wish me luck.

  • Same here, good luck :D

  • great tone for two months!! it seems that you're not putting enough air into the lower notes, and you're getting an airish sound. and i also noticed your fingers. try not to pick them up completely off the keys because when you start to play faster jazz like i do, it takes too long to reposition your fingers back onto the keys in time to get the next note. i'd love to get the sheet music for this song also if you could email it to me it'd be great :)

great job and keep up the hard work.

  • Why you didn't play the prelude?

It's the best part of the song?

  • I don't belive you are only playing for 2 months !! Your sound is fantastic.

    Congatulations

  • Thanks for your comment! I can honestly say, when I recorded this song I had only been playing the sax for two months! Yes I have played another Instrument a long time ago! Eb Bass (Tuba)! But packed it in, over 8 years ago! I have always wanted to play Alto Sax since I was a kid! Now I have the chance! Im giving it a go! I love it! It feels right! and I practice everyday! Just wish I could master how to play without reading music and put my own touch and expressions to the music!!

  • 1. I think you are doing alright for someone whos only been playing 2 months. You are better than I was after the same time period. Here's a helpfull comment. Don't listen to anyone about mouthpeices. 95 per cent of playing tone and musical sound ability comes from the player. Mouthpieces are personal to the player him/her self and because we are all built differetly (oral cavity, lung capacity etc) we need a mouthpiece that is personal to us.

  • 2 You wouldn't go for a new pair of glasses and buy the same perscription pair your friend has because his eyes are different to yours. See what I mean - the same is true for mouthpeices.

So how do you master the 95% - YOU LISTEN TO GREAT SAXOPHONE PLAYERS. Listen and learn how they do things.

If this is only 2 months then you deserve 5 stars - so thats what Im giving you.

  • Thanks! You read so much about wat other mouthpieces can offer!! Its so confusing!! I suppose wat you have said is right! but at the same time if you dont try different mouthpieces how u going to know wat is right for u! Anyway in the meantime I will stick with wat I have got - and like wat you have said, i will listen more to other Great Sax Players! Thanks again for your feedback!! ;-D

  • @Niteowl0108 Yes try differen't mouthpieces it does make a difference. But don't listen to people who say this mouthpiece is the best etc. You try them and you decide. Only you will know when you have the right mouthpice. Something else to. Not all saxophones play the same with the same mouthpiece. Get the player you like (your hero) in your head and try to emulate them, then you'll know your restrictions and what you will need from a mouthpiece. (reeds are just as important as well).

  • Did you practice a lot? OR did you play a different instrument before this?

  • To be honest I practice 2 hours everyday! I really enjoy playing! A long time ago, I use to play the Tuba (Eb Bass), which is completely different. The main advantage I have is that I am able to read music! The most annoying disadvantage I have, is that I find it really difficult to play for Ear and not to have teacher to tell me if I am picking up any bad Habits!!

  • dude omg i play tuba too and i am just picking up sax too wow...i also play guitar and drums and a little keyboard and well.....pretty much a little everything but still thats weird =]

  • wonders if whatupbruv04 has found a funny bone to tickle oh dear diane he could of atleast tried to b either funny or completely nasty ... anyways i been reading all ur reviews and well done diane they r great :) cant wait for ur next installment xxxxxxxxx

  • two weeks for this is very good! I am one week and still couldn't get the right sounds.. arrgggh.. I am working harder!!!

  • what mouthpiece and reed u use?

  • Mouthpiece is a Yamaha 4C and I like to use a Vandoren V16 Size 2

  • you should get a new mouthpiece, try the cstar with the larry teal facing...aka known as the lt402, and once you've developed your skills further try the rico royal reeds

  • Very SOFT reed!!!

  • Jeez, when I was at 2 months I could roughly play 5 notes of the scale and a few songs. Good job!

  • HAHAHA not bad actually... ive been playing for three years hahah and im only fifteen... i noticed your ligature... if youre really serious bout this try getting a BONADE INVERTED.. theyre really good for intermediate.. so i would suggset that to start... but other than that very nice sound just some parts with some.. shall i say... mishappens...

  • Diane if this is an attempt at a new direction for your future because your degree has kept you in the same dead end job, then I urge you to reconsider, as playing like that could have you investigated by the RSPCA for cruelty to cats.

  • LOL!!! Must of taken a while to think of that comment!! But will definitally consider your proposal!! ;-D

  • Very awesome!

may I ask where you got the music?

I would also like to play this song! ^^

  • Thanks for your comment!

I got the music from "Guest Spot" Great Ballads - Playalong for Alto Saxophone

  • Thank you! ^^

  • simple,,but nice

  • Can you give me the notes, please!!

    (You are very good)

  • You also look like you have almost the same set up as me. I have a rovner ligature with meyer 7c mouthpiece and a yamaha YAS-62S

  • thats the arrangement from the guest spot book. Ive been playing for 3years and im self taught, this song was the first song i played in public to about 100 people

Gr8 for 2 months, keep practicing and it will be fantastic

  • Well D, You have done yourself proud, I honestly think, you are fantastic, especially when you take into consideration that you have only been playing for only 2 months.

It must have taken a while to get back into reading music again, but once you got it, it's there forever. Well Done.

  • Astonishing!!! You're really gifted!!

I'm 25 and I have always wished to take sax lessons, but I often think I should've begun when I was younger, and that has stopped me...

Listening to this great song, I realize that it doesn't matter how long you've been playing, but the feeling you put in each note. Besides, this shows where rough practice and talent can lead to.

Thanks for posting!!! You can't figure out how inspiring it was =)

Absolutely deserved 5 stars from México!

  • Thanks - much appreciated!! I love playing! I am finally playing the Instrument of my Dreams!!

  • Superb!!!, some great fluid runs, for 2 months that is amazing. I have heard people who have played for 2-3 years and don't play with this level of musicality and feeling. It is not essential, but perhaps try some jazz or blues, it does suit the sax so well. Try and get a handle on improvising early on, buy the Jamey Aebersold book/cd "maiden voyage" and just have fun with it, learn the blues scale. Great fun to be had. I am seriously impressed, keep it up!

  • Thanks for your comment! I will definitally take your advice! I think you have a Brilliant sound and technique! A inspiration to anyone wishing to learn!

  • I loved!!! You are gifted!!! Congrats and good continuation

Amanda- brazilian girl writing from Paris

  • Thanks for comment! I love playing the sax - I can't put it down!!!

  • wicked mum

  • callum says it is really good !!! and tip of the day from callum show ur face

  • woooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i got a famous clever talented matie :D well done
