  • I ran a postwar O27 Lionel set back in the mid 90s, my dad bought it in the late 80s from a collector. I ran the shit outta this thing man! I had the scout steam locomotive with the Lionel Lines non-whistling tender, but I had the station 4 the Whistle. Think I had the NYC gondola, the Erie flat car, the Sunoco 2 dome tank car, the Orange NYC box car, and the Southern Pacific lighting caboose. I absolutly love the Lionel Post war era! Please tell me the difference though between O, and O27.

  • Old School goodness...

  • can i have your trains please! lol but you got some nice stuff running here i came to see your #520 box cab engine to see how you have it running and to see which was the engine faces im got a #1542 box cab set shold be putting it up on youtube soon

  • talk about overcrowded

  • did the 520 box cab have any kind of a horn ?

  • Postwar Lionel - 027- is where it all started, this is the best of Lionel. Thanks for sharing.

  • Do you have a bluprint for the layout? If you do, can you PM me on YouTube so I can send you my email and you can send my the track plan. My grandfather and I are very interested into Lionel Postwar and how you did the 5x9 layout. Thank you!

    Austin

  • How did you get the two Post war diesels run on the same track? One was blue and the other was green.

  • Great layout! A pleasure to see a traditional 'toy train' platform. Am planning on doing the same. Wish the magazines would show more layouts like this one!

  • Great layout!!! Awesome wiring job, to be able to run so many trains at once and avoid collisions. Great job filming. Iike your other videos as well. Lionel should pay you for the accessories videos, they really show the accessories work. Thank you for posting them.

  • Very nice! Postwar forever!

  • What makes this stuff "O-27" and not just "O"?

  • This is O-27 because it is a smaller scale then actual O. O-27 is less detailed and runs on smaller curves then O.

  • @gillart : O-27 circle of track has a radius of...27" and O circle has a radius of 31"

Plus the O-27 rails are not as "tall" and sections are a little more flimsy. But works fine for most egines except the longer ones. Hope that helps.

  • @quad1000 Will 0-27 locomotives and rolling stock work on Lionel Fastrack ?

  • @Crawling2Life365: Why sure!

But operating accessories that require a control track will have to be dealt with somehow because of the structural differences between Fastrack and traditional 3-rail track...don't know anything about that, though.

  • @quad1000 That's alright - my accesories are all going to be manual anyway - thank you quad1000.

  • hello what makes that gate go down when the train comes i thought about adding one to my 12x30layout

  • @dieseldranker it's a pressure plate for regular tubular track. But if you have Fastrack you'll need to use an accessory activator pack.

  • Unrealistic but SWEET!

  • awesome train set, all those extra accesseries on a 5x9 size! i have a 5x12 and it doesnt look that big. i must get more accesseries :)

  • The 2014 is a 2-6-4 I have one

  • Great classic layout. nice use of space and lots of action. Great Job !

  • Just incredible! You've built the finest small layout I've yet to see. When Johnny Mercer wrote "Too Marvelous for Words", this layout was what he was talking about! Fantastic! So much to look at, yet there's a great symmetry to it, it doesn't appear cluttered. I want it!

  • I liked Lionel as you could stop and load and unload cars and not just drop them off like HO.

  • youtube user lionelmanuals stole this video and is taking credit for them!!!

  • Wow! That's the best 027 Layout I've ever seen!

  • i just set up my crossing gate and the lights dont alternate there light at the same time it about 10 years old any suggestions?

  • im hoping i can get my uncles postwar lionels and his ZW transformer.

  • nice three rail layout hard to find old stuff for that type of track

  • Great train layout. Seem's to be all 027 alright. Brings out the toy in the unscale size lionels. Lots of action in a small space. Thanks for posting

  • dude you said BUTT nice layout

  • i like that passenger set. im a lionel train collecter so i know alot about them butt nice layout

  • My dad gave me his 1964 lionel train set and he bought me a 1946 marx train set.

  • This is truly the most amazing setup I have seen because it is on a 5x9 table, such a small space to accomplish so much... thank-you for sharing this video, Paul from AB CA

  • nice layout

  • sweet

  • I like your approach: 027 tubular track and lots of toy train action. Way to go!

  • Bet the train drivers panicked when they saw the giant man!lol!!

  • I bet if you tied string to the ends of those trains, it would make a nice square knot.

  • ive watched your video 25 times, i love

the train action on your layout, im just

getting back into this after being away

for 30+ years...i only hope i get get

train action this nice, your layout is

AWESOME, merry christmas from Seve in

    ONT CANADA.....

  • Wonderful layout!

  • The guy wearing the hat @ time mark 2:35 that looks like Barry Manilow or Dr. Phil? Nice setup. I remember my grandpa helped set up my first Lionel 2035 steam engine. The engine was laying on the track and grandpa farted and knocked the engine off the track. Our dog ran out of the room.

  • How do you do to move two locomotives (green and blue) at same time and same track?

    Thanks!

  • Best layout in town.

  • wow that is amazing

  • I enjoy your lionel layout. I am starting to build a lionel layout 4x16 and only have a new alaska set but will be adding more trains of the older typein sept.

    Cheers Jim

  • Love that 027 train action and those LW transformer too. Check out my layout action with 27 switches and turntable. Charlie

  • Excellent! 5 Stars.

  • Now that I have watched this one myself all through.

I am really impressed. Fantastic table and set up.

Gee - this must have cost a fortune!

And you do some of the animated motor ones yourself!

    Well done.

  • Yeah - great videos - all of yours are good.

Entertain my 2 year old for ages, over and over.
