@orcathalin This video is really old, by then BDU's (Battle Dress Uniform) were still around, by the way "Digital" is called "ACU (Army Combat Uniform).
uhm, i dont know if they did it wrong or what? but our raiders team wen we do bridge we tighten that rope so high that its like a foot above the tallest persons head,
and then wen we go across our legs HAVE to stay above the rope
St. Augustine High School, Florida, Army JROTC Raiders
I wish we could do all the stuff this school gets to do. I live in a small city, in a totally flat state, with a bunch of schools that have no money at all.
the only thing we get to do in competitions is push-ups, sit-ups, run, and tug of war...boring.
but our group is pretty cool and its a lot of fun.
My Raiders team can get a team of 8 across a rope bridge in about 2 minutes. Our record was 1 minute and 28 seconds. (That's setting up the rope and getting everybody across)
Best thing to do before joining raiders is being physical fit. Do different types of push-ups: Diamond, Wide-Arm, Close Arm (to work different types of muscle). Pracitc w/ the push-up going into rest positions and correctness (not speed). Also a kicker is sit-ups. Note, in competition you won't be 100% when performing sit-ups, so practice doing as many as you can (correctly) after doing push-ups. Running is all about endurance. Run further than just 2 miles, work on 3, 4, even 5 miles.
well im 14 in Miami Killian high school. i just joined the jrotc about week after school started. and not really phisicly fit, and i wana join raiders. im doing alot of running and pushups and eating healthy. anyone got any suggestions?
do 100 push ups everyday, do it in sets, you'll get better at it, also do 100 sit ups and also try doing some squads, then run more than 2 miles, always stay positive. Make a motto for you to rely on when you think you can't hang on.
Any JROTC (whether it may be Army, Navy, Airforce, etc.) can do this. If you are looking at starting a raider team for your JROTC, I can provide additional information.
@LeavenworthRaiders how do u even start it have a very motivated company for which i am co of and i have no idea how to start ......i have no clue how to start a raider team
If you really wanna get ready for raiders... I suggest joining track, then doing pushups along with that. When you tryout for raiders, you'll be much faster and more conditioned than the others.
ha' im doing ROTC at my school for junior and senior but i need to find a way to mangage my auto tech class.our classes start 6 am..cant wait til next year.!
@Tacoking84 well in the stte i live in and the high school also im in won the trophy for 1st and im a cadet about to join raiders and also we won the state championship as well so where equal what rank are you by any chance
Good luck. Raiders is a lot of fun and I hope everyone here who watches this video gets inspired to go out and try this awesome activity. Doesn't matter what team or what school, Raiders is a hell of an adventure. This is my third year doing it and I learn so much every year and the bond you make with your team is ever lasting.
yah we didnt win.we got first on everthing except on pt and rope bridge we gotpenalized on the rope bridge for droppin the carribeaner in the water and cussin otherwise we wouldve won that too
10:55 on what a 2 mile yah i can keep up with ya on that man. thats not anything to do with raiders.there isnt a 2 mile run at nationals and i run fast as hell with everything else
havent herd of us well we are pretty far
the team from new york won nationals but they were second to us but our mix team
Well we have ACU's now, check out the over video of "RAIDERS BRING ON THE PAIN", and you'll see it. Every competition starts off with an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) (Well thats if you have an AJROTC). It consists of push-ups, sit-ups and 2 mile run. Its the first thing at o'dark 30. If your struggly on push-ups or anything for that matter, practice doing them. You don't need to go to the gym. The best way to get better at something is to practice at that THING. Not go lift random weights.
well, now I'm on South Fort Myers High raiders we're not so good though, we need more work on the running and pull up, and by the way we have a new cooler uniform.
but i have a Question, does everyone in the
team participates for the PT Test?
I'm so nervous I'm sorta fat, so that's why i'm slow so I'm so workin on my running man and the push ups!
keep practicing, i did raiders my freshman year, i weighted 200 lbs my junior year i now weigh 170, i can do 3 times the amount of push ups i used to, believe in yourself let your raider buddies see that your trying and theyll help you out alot. Hooah!
lol. the Raider competition my school attends to doesnt have that many activities, you guys were awesome, but were a bit slow at passing in rope bridge.
Hmm. Haven't heard of Paulding County. But thats probably since you guys are in Georgia. lol. Our Raider Team is in Kansas.
And I'm pretty sure you didn't "one it" lol. And good luck on the running too, b/c I do xc and track. lol. Unless you can beat 10:55 ish, than your behind me bub. =)
nice! my raider team is so small but we are #1 in middle tennessee...Eagleville raiders look it up...lucky u get 2 days o practice per week in the evening...we have 3 at 6 in the morning....sweet vid......HOOAH!!! GO RAIDERS!!!!
This raider team in the video needs to step thier game up, rope bridge you thrust not hand over hand.
