I agree with the newscaster. Some of us ride public transit and all of us need it. Those buses are out there getting people to work. Some may be a bagger at a grocery store or a cook at a restaurant.
but we need the funds for these things. The whole country needs it really, not just California (though the whole world could benefit from stopping overpopulation and more education)!
WTF happened to those brilliant plans?! And that was in 1968!!!! WTF!!! We need change. Our whole country needs to spend less money on stupid things we don't need and more money on improving education and public transit. Just fixing those two things alone would change so much for the better. Well, stopping overpopulation would be even better too, because that's the root of so many problems across the globe. Yes, we can't do it with the budget we have now because of friggin Schwarzenegger!
LOL, I look at the proposed rail system map and cry at how far we are from realizing that goal. I look at the conceptual art of the rapid transit stations, and I can't help but draw comparisons to San Francisco's BART. If anything SF was rather successful in pulling of a usable public transit system, while we're still stuck on the freeways.
Also, why don't we show educational videos like this to our kids anymore? They're growing up to embrace cars, not community efforts...

@91nickt If you think there is a problem with overpopulation then why not just commit suicide.

San Francisco MUNI began service in 1910. CalTrain began service in 1864. The rest or the Bay Area did not have transit service until the 1970's.

The ending reminds me of the Brady bunch for some odd reason.
