  • How come Wayne doesn't sound like this any more? You always knew it was him singing, his new sound could be anyone.

  • It's MR. New Vegas!

  • nothing matters in life born live die thats it and nothing after this aint no dress rehersal come from nothingness go back to nothingness (right tim tebow)!

  • If this doesn't make you understand the things that really matter in life, I don't think you can ever be reached.

  • as a kid this song kept him home now 52 yrs married with mom as kids i never wanted him to leave thank god he stayed now they still have each other

  • this has to be as corny a song that was ever recorded, and i absolutely love it...

  • So many years have passed, but I've never forgotten this song.

  • Be strong! 1 love homie!!

  • I'm a grown man now, but my father died when I was 6. He was my hero and his death put me into a life-long depression and it took me a long time to understand that his death was the source of that depression. But at the time, I remember my mother crying, and I did my best to comfort her. I gave her little hugs and pats, and told her everything would be all right. I just wanted my mama to stop crying and feel good again. To this day, it rips my heart out to see a woman cry for any reason.

  • THe Dutch version of this song was from Herman van Keeken "Pappie loop toch niet zo snel"

  • @BeeGeesFan999 fantastic!

  • no shit

  • Great to hear this classic.

  • vinyl records bring back memories thanks

  • I remember this song playing on the radio when I was very little. I hadn't heard it in ages. My parents have a happy marriage and are still together, and now I'm happily married with kids of my own. However, imagining the scenes in this song, as a mother, is heartbreaking.

  • My parents were seperated when I was five. me and my twin sister were used as a weapon by my dad and he tried for 6years in court to take us away from my mother.he never loved us just hurt us. I used to love this song but now it hurts my heart. Even though he is a bad man, I still love Daddy. i just wish you would change.

  • My dad did walk at a hundred miles an hour. But I was the one who said to mum maybe she should leave dad. To this day, I'm not sure if i made the right choice. My dad died this year, I miss him so very much xxx

  • a KHJ song from the summer of 1972, thanks for the post

  • AMEN! TO ANGELSRHERENOW Parents who do this to their children only care about themselves! I lived that nightmare growing up. My mother wanted me and my sibling's to hate our step-mother. I still have a loving relationship with my step-mother because she alway's loved me unconditionally.

  • My brother and I would sing this song on karaoke night at the local family resturant. He rarely let anyone sing with him so I felt so honored when he would ask me to sing this song with him. We were children of divorced parents aswell so this touched our hearts. My brother passed away in August 2008, now when I heard this song or try to sing it, I break down in tears from the memories of him.

  • @sphrodgers Lost my Father recently.l ost my brother a while back. Remember the good stuff, ok? Ok.

  • This song has made me cry since I was 8 - 40 yrs later it still makes me cry! Dad traveled every wk for most of my life, every time he'd go my little heart was always afraid he wouldn't come back, but every time he did! Folks split when I was15 but for the rest of his traveling days he always called me to let me know he was home safe. My Dad is still my Rock and I am still his Little Girl. Thank you Lord for the relationship we have becuz it is truly one in a million. I love you Daddy! (Sissy)

  • this song came out right after my dad left us, he did come and take us on the weekends so I guess he wasn't as bad as some of the other losers out there.

  • THANKYOU MR LAS VEGAS MY LORD WAYNE NEWTON THE WHITE BUFFALO N WAY CON TONKA BLUE EYES PINK COPTER JET RANGER COOL. IN CHRIST TOO AMERICAN PURPLE N BLUE EYES THANKYOU.

  • @eye2eyeize Yes I understand what you said its a compliment to Wayne so

I say: "Many long and happy years of life to a brother Human Being and a man

with a singing heart and giving soul- Wayne Newton".

  • This song came out when my parents were beginning their seperation in preperation for their divorce and my mother had forbidden us to show any form of love to him. Up to then i had been "daddy's little girl" and this song broke both of our hearts. Parents: DO NOT PLAY YOUR CHILDREN AGAINS THEIR PARENTS. IT IS CRUEL AND UNJUSTIFIABLE. IT WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU ON YOUR DEATH BED.

  • @angelsrherenow INDEED, girly! ... I don't have children of my own (Medical reasons.), but I do have animals that are my children, as I like to say, "If not by 'blood', then by 'HEART'!" ... Poing being, I have seen it so many times. It is WRONG to bring chidren in the middle of your marital problems. They love both parents and that is just as it should be. To make them choose between the two is to put too much of a burden on their young, sweet shoulders. ... Hugs and God bless!

  • @angelsrherenow This has happened to me also. Only i was the Daddy. I found my son and daughter again after over 15 years on new years eve this year. They have now both turned away from me. I had a dream before I found them, now it is only a nightmare. I stil love their mother, but even today after she has passed, she has reached out to keep us apart. Woman who keep children from their father should know, the pain never ends.

  • @angelsrherenow your comments along with this song broke my heart and upset my worried mind. life is full of tribulations. it hurts so much. pain, misgivings, desolation are the daily bread. i wish you peace of mind.

  • @angelsrherenow AMEN! I saw my former mother-in-law do this to my former wife (THANK GOD) and former brother-in-law. The same thing happened to an uncle of mine, and my ex-sister in-law is doing this to my brother with my nephew and niece!

  • @angelsrherenow ..omg...you are so right...i stayed friends with my ex because of my 3 angels...they love both of us....

  • @angelsrherenow this song has always remind me of my dada icry everytime i hear it but its our song daddy not walking too fast the best man in the world R,I,P,

  • This song breaks your heart...you can go visual on it and see the little thing running after him...sad.....but it is a nice song.....to all the litlle ones that ran after Daddy......and some still are...

  • Although this song is about a father and daughter, I as a son can relate to this song.

This really hits home and fits my childhood to a t.

  • Been thinkin about this song all day long....how do I tell my 12 and 15 year old boys that I dont love their mother anymoer and I'm moveing out. Not going far jsut living in a diffrent place!

  • Wayne had some champion Arabian horses on his ranch near Vegas. My spouse met him at the national show back in the 80's, said he was a nice, down to earth kind of guy.

  • Havn't heard this song in ages..Its a nice sad song.,.

  • If you ever get a chance to see A Wayne Newton show do so ..you will be entertained

  • One of my favorite songs from 1972 (a great year for music).

  • Does Mr. Newton still sing in LasVagas? If so..how do you get tickets?

  • @meetman3 Go to Las Vegas and buy the tickets? That would be worth a shot.

  • My youngest daughter always had to cry when I sung this song. I was surprised about the effect this song has on many people. Now she is 13 years and her mother and me divorced some time ago. I just bumped up to this song on youtube and all memories came back. Now I'm the one who cries and believe me, that is pretty rare. It came from very deep and I'm still impressed by it all. Men, what a strange enchanting song!

  • @cireboers YEP I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND (passing the puffs)

  • Thank you so much for posting!!!!!

  • great song so many memories ,loving it,thanks debs

  • Thank You!

  • T.Y. So much for this song!!!
