hmm no one is absolutely clear what is happening in Tibet...cuz the western media only shows half of the truth. We see Tibetans getting captured and all but it's really nothing compared to what happens in Africa etc...Also the lifestyle in Tibet is already ALOT better than some remote areas in China.. they have school, unis, fresh water... but they still want more... Even if Tibet became independant, they still wouldn't be 'FREE' in my opinion.

I am sure that many pro tibetan american protesters don't know where the Tibet is. I agree with you that many medias produce half truths. But in this case I agree with this news. asia is very complex place to research for any western media. many times i have found half truth from media while they cover the news of asia.
Don't think this is an issue. The main issue is if these people really understand what the problem is. Have you heard a recent story about Chinese people boycotted and protested Carrefour in China after they found that Carrefour's parent's company in France supported Free Tibet? If you ask Chinese protesters on the street to point out where France is on the map, you probably would get the same result as you did in SF . So what is the big deal? The issue is not geography, but freedom.
I don't think this is an issue since most Chinese people at home can not either watch CNN or visit CNN's website (CNN is blocked in China), but it is funny that they can protest what was said. How is that different than geographically challenged Americans not being able to find Tibet on the map?
