When I first heard this song on the radio, it stopped me in my tracks! -- I actually sat down and cried! -- Benny and Bjorn please please never stop composing. I LOVE THIS SONG!!
Please,Stop comparing Helen to Agnetha! They are 2 completely different singers!Helen sings in BAO and Agnetha SANG in ABBA!Helen isn't Agnetha but Agnetha isn't Helen.Agnetha is unique,an icon,ok,but Helen has a lot of talent,a magnificent voice (never heard or seen Kristina från Duvemåla?)and she is very nice.I like a lot Agnetha both Helen and I like a lot ABBA both BAO.Don't be jealous.Don't be stupid!
This is the reality and this is the truth. That's all.
Well...I know you.Yes,I do.I know the 1 guy who have put the thumbs down. No,I am not Superman or God.But I can imagine! You are an ABBA fan, you hope every day in an ABBA reunion, you think that because of Benny and his 15 friends ABBA never come together...
What could be more stupid?Do you really think this? ... *this is sad* ... Maybe you like this song, but you hate BAO because you don't want admit the truth: you're jealous of this group,in a way...
What does exist in our minds. Who ever were you to me? Who ever was I to you? I only felt the truth would find itself rising between the cracks ... And, you would come to realize who I am, AND WHO I AM -and the things I have done- became justified in my mind, The things I did as life fell in upon a child ... Yet an angels smile could always embrace the difference (fill the void) and make me whole. I NEEDED SOMEWHERE TO LOOK AND REACH, AND YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE => UNBIAS of who I am.
Every body wants to see them together agian, but they are missing the picture here. Let me explain, If they would get together then we the fans loose big time, because what we need is another albun, not just some concert with all their great songs which is great, but think of this : Performance is great, but creativity is better because it comes from the heart m it sorrounds you and takes you away. Yes Benny to that place where your melodies came from, that is where we all want to go, even you
Thank you, Mona and Benny. Thank you for your support when my mum was sick, and thank you for offering us to stay in your hotel, thank you for putting guards outside our door when we were threatened (thank you benny for dealing with it first thing u did coming home from Rock n Roll hall of Fame)Thank you mona for...you know what.
I think everyone is missing a truly great love. The two young blokes who loved music, came together and rocked the world. Somehow they still manage to do it 36 later and peolple copy it because it is brilliant. Their knowledge and passion to create awesome music continues. I can ALWAYS hear the Bjiorn/Benny Sound.
Agnetha and Frida were fabulous together in their prime - but as soloists they are, IMHO, a notch below Helen Sjoholm in terms of talent and range.
Helen can, and has done, do it all from Broadway show tunes to pop to standards. As much as I love Agnetha and Frida as part of the best 4-some ever in popular music: I don't think they can match Sjoholm individually.
Typically, a great song from B & B. The frustrating thing is 1 can't help but imagine Agnetha/Frida singing it. Hearing other artists record their songs isn't the same...Everyone keeps asking will ABBA get back together? I understand why they would never tour/do concerts etc. But how about a new album? It would sell without them having to do anything except lay down the tracks. We don't need to SEE Abba, but to HEAR them again with new songs and the latest technology would be something else!
@misstinsley No. Leave ABBA where it belongs: in the past. Their music is great, their achievements are legendary. If they reïnute, after almost 30 years, the result can only be catastrophic. Whatever they do, they will never be able to live up to the titanic reputation they have.
Look at the movies for example. If you really like a movie, a remake done 20-30-40 years later will often be like: "It's a very good movie.... but not as good as the first / original one." It is the same with Abba.
@MVanthoor, you bring a great point MVanthoor. I think what they should do is, for example, do a remake of this song: The Story of my heart, for example with Agnetha singing the lead and getting that third voice. Can you imagine what would happen? I think the sales numbers will outdo ABBA's previous numbers. That's all, not a complete reunion per say, just a little taste... and see what happens...
I LOVE this song...the words are so true...I am on my 3rd relationship and happier than ever, but I do think about my ex's sometimes...and this song encompasses all the feelings that you have about your ex's..One of the best lyrics Bjorn has ever written.I adore it, and it is sung brilliantly. Peace, Terry

Anyone here think ABBA will ever reunite for a tour? If not an album? Frida wants to do something with ABBA. Benny when asked recently if ABBA would ever "come back" said 'never say never'. is that a hint?
I agree, but I also understand his point of view. With ABBA now being revered almost by everyone as a legendary, almost mythological band, the pressure of living up to that image must be very daunting. Havind said that, I think any ABBA fan would gladly pay 100 euros/pounds/dollars/kronar just to see these four people together on one stage again :)
People are talking about whether this sounds like an ABBA song, which I can understand. There may be tiny segments of songs, such as Under Attack and I Am The City (listen to the backing of the second verse), but it doesnt sound like A ABBA sond, as such.
However, 'Crush on You' which is a track on BAO3 (2007) - Benny Andersson Orkester 3 and sung by Helen & Tommy was originally pencilled in for the ABBA Voulez Vous album. However, ABBA never finished it.
Fantastic song. Skillful and thorough production. Powerful vocal performance with good range. More mature than an Abba performance, but the provenance is there. 9/10 at least. Excellent. Take the rest of the day off.
I've been an ABBA fan for a long time but contrary to what "Aussie" thinks, I haven't liked every single thing ABBA did. I can discern good from bad as well as anyone else. This song is catchy, melodic and I like it. More please! :)
The Difference between this and an ABBA song is that
Helen Sjoholm improvises at the end (an un ABBAish thing to do) , the hall mark of ABBA was the immaculate controlled intonation of the vocals by Freda and Agnetha,
How many songs can you hear for the first time and pick up the tune immediately ? MELODIC GENIUS - classy vocals too !

"Melodic genius" ? LOL, oh boy , arent you the Abba fanatic!! 70 positive comments a hit single doth not make, LOL. Thats all well and fine, enjoy your fanaticism, as others do too, but this clunky and formulaic ditty has made no impact on the charts at all. None. Nothing. The tune belongs in an 80's musical, not as a cutting edge example of the evolution of B&B's former brilliance. B&B had it, if this is the best they can do, they've lost it.
i agree with what you say about it not being in the charts yet or whatever, but i think that is because people don't listen to this sort of music nowadays (ok mass generalisation), but folky music isn't as popular now, say, as it was in the 70's/80's. nevertheless, i'm glad B&B hav put their talents to use once more and created enjoyable music!

this song is terrible:heavy, formulaic and soulless. The album it comes from is simply embarrassing, oompah oompah tuba's , childish sounds only fit for being heard in a retirement home. Its hard to reconcile B&B's diminished ability now with their past triumphs.
Maybe they werent so comfortable then as they are now, or maybe they had two great performers in Frida and Anna to raise the standard.
Gee, cranky baby needs nap time! Somebody, please put this brat down and let the rest of us enjoy the song. Mummy, would you take care of your monster?

I think it has become quite sad that ABBA fans like anything and everything that B&B do and arent simply musically mature enough to discern crap when they write it. Obsession is not healthy. It has taken ABBA quite a while to gain some musical cred but laboured, cliched and sterile music like "Story of A Heart" diminishes so much that has been achieved. B&B have turned ABBA into a brand. What they dont get is how easily a brand can become naff and cheesy.
well, I dont think it has been a "million", and good for you that you "LOVE IT", but the proof of its commercial quality will be its performance on the charts. As yet no impact at all.
They have been playing this for several weeks in the UK on Radio 2, as an Abba fanatic I think it is great, but unless it is a big hit I would not expect too much from the Benny Andersson Band or Orkestra as it is known on the continent, they have been together since about 97 and are predominantly a Swedish Folk Group
Amazing song, It's like they've never been away, Helen reminds me so much of Angnetha, but why the Benny Andersson band? , is that the best name they could com up with?......I suppose BHB didn't have the same ring as ABBA...lol
Watching the pictures of Benny makes me realise just how much time has passed since the group were one- when I used to listen to their LPs on my record player full pelt in my bedroom- all this time in between, Ive nearly always had a cd of Abba albeit in the house or the car - amazing what an impact their presence has had on our lives and how rejuvianting its been to hear that sound once again.
I was listening to this song in the car and str8 away I though, what abba song is this.
Im not into music but thought what a cool song this is. But I lie when I say im not into music as my father brought me up with the ABBA vibes. Then the penny dropped and I new it might be a abba cover but NO. Benny aka the chap who made me smile and laugh way back has now done it again. Now hes not jumping up and down on his piano seat from the 70s and 80s "I am". What a cool song and this has made my day xxx
My childhood rekindled - awesome - great if the girls were singing - but Helen does a great job - heard it and said to myself 'thats an Abba song' thought I was going mad! - turned out to be true - hope there's more like this - Ive pre-ordered the album - fantastic.
Stunning. Whatever you think of Abba-esqe music, this is a beautifully crafted, beautifuly sung song. It has a fabulous hook which you'll be singing in your head for ages.
I've told a few people now that "I Had A Dream". I dreamt just over ten years ago that ABBA would make one more album. Could it now be starting to come true?
Yes I can see it now Benny Andersson will read your comment and realise he's wasting his time. Why not post one of the songs you have written. Oh wait, thats right, you're a sadly deranged and boring little troll whose only real talent ran down the inside of his mothers leg. Go away and play with the traffic
I bet when Benny wrote this song he had tingles all down his spine .. he must have known this song was alongside the very best of his ABBA hits. This song is wonderfully uplifting. FANTASTIC!! .. I will be playing this on my ipod all summer long!!
This great song is a sign for me, that only the music of Benny & Bjoern going under my skin, with an other great singer, too! The same great feeling I had by the release of the album "Shapes" of Josefin Nielsson, or the album "Gemini", from Gemini, too!
The group ABBA is deep in my heart, nobody and nothing can change it! Now, there is another warm place in my heart for this great songs, like "The story of my heart" !
With this song they might have won it for Sweden. Who knows. But you are so right. They still got it. A classical pop song like this one became rare. :-)
Sounds great. It sounds so Benny like. What a great composer he still is. Oh I admire him like no other for genius and his modesty. Thanks for sharing this one. Cheers. Amdré :-)
This is so awesome...but how much more awesome would it have been with A & F?!!! It would be a worldwide, massive hit if it was the ABBA reunion single...with all the proceeds going to charity of course (hint hint). I'd love to hear it without the showtune-style vocal delivery that Helen Sjöholm gives it. She has an amazing voice but not for straight-up pop music.
This is exactly what I think about it. Helen´s voice is definitely nice, but it´s not suitable for pop songs,it´s rather an opera voice. She´s a kind of a good girl, she doesn´t have that magic sourranding ABBA-girls. They were more than just singers, they were icons- everything about them was exciting-looks, smiles, gestures, clothes. many of us wanted to be like them. But still - the song is really wonderful!
When I first heard this song on the radio, it stopped me in my tracks! -- I actually sat down and cried! -- Benny and Bjorn please please never stop composing. I LOVE THIS SONG!!

An ABBA song would change more as it progressed , with more counter rhythm in the backing vocals,
And Like I said earlier no improvisation at the end,
The song with ABBA's wind in its sales is Fait acompli even though its sung by a man.

Reminds me a bit of Justin Haywood's Forever Autumn with the pipe bit near the start

It's crap, it's boring and it's nothing compared to what they used to write.
okituby 2 years ago
Yes I can see it now Benny Andersson will read your comment and realise he's wasting his time. Why not post one of the songs you have written. Oh wait, thats right, you're a sadly deranged and boring little troll whose only real talent ran down the inside of his mothers leg. Go away and play with the traffic

I bet when Benny wrote this song he had tingles all down his spine .. he must have known this song was alongside the very best of his ABBA hits. This song is wonderfully uplifting. FANTASTIC!! .. I will be playing this on my ipod all summer long!!

It isn't ABBA! It musn't be ABBA!
The singing of Helen is wonderful!

Abba właśnie dzięki Eurowizji zyskała na popularności. A ten utworek - no po prostu dla fanów Abby, ale ja się raczej do nich nie zaliczam.

Nice to see the beardies still at it, whereas their ex's are still living off their divorce payouts, with a big arse and bad teeth.

They've still "got it",after all these years-
why didn't we get them to write our euro
song??

With this song they might have won it for Sweden. Who knows. But you are so right. They still got it. A classical pop song like this one became rare. :-)

Sounds great. It sounds so Benny like. What a great composer he still is. Oh I admire him like no other for genius and his modesty. Thanks for sharing this one. Cheers. Amdré :-)

Sången är mycket bra, men Helen är inte en popröst, detta sång er skrivit för de Agnetha-Röst :-)

thank you for this new song but Agnetha is Agnetha and Frida is Frida - best wishes from Serbia

She has an amazing voice but not for straight-up pop music.
mongoose7x 2 years ago
This is exactly what I think about it. Helen´s voice is definitely nice, but it´s not suitable for pop songs,it´s rather an opera voice. She´s a kind of a good girl, she doesn´t have that magic sourranding ABBA-girls. They were more than just singers, they were icons- everything about them was exciting-looks, smiles, gestures, clothes. many of us wanted to be like them. But still - the song is really wonderful!
