The US wants something similar to happen to Israel, as the Arabs want. The Arabs will never be in piece with Israel. Not even if there would be a Palestinian state in the future. So the ´´the dwelling securely can only happen after an Arab-Israeli war where Israel will win and there are a lot of prophecies about the neighboring Arab nations being defeated.

There is no reason to think that those are same events. Just because Iran is not mentioned in the Psalm war it does not mean that something won’t happen to them prior. We will have some answers after September. US and EU will never protect Israel, neither in the Arab-Israeli war and neither in the Magog war.

How can the Psalm 83 be the extention of the Gog Magog or the same war? The descriptions are totaly obvious and clear. It takes some time to demolish those walls and to feel safely in Israel before the Gog Magog attack.

@DSboy84ever Iran, Israel's greatest threat, will still be alive and well. Israel's neighbors are hardly the threat Iran is. The 20-25 miles of concrete walls might take a one year to take down. Even with the 20-25 miles of concrete walls out of 500 miles that does not make the land of Israel a nation of walled cities as described in Ezekiel 38. Israel is at this time a nation of unwalled villages. Psalm 83 is not clear at all that it is a separate war or that it hasn't already happened.

The Bible doesn’t says that some countries will attack, but it says specifically which countries or nations will attack Israel after dwelling safely, so if God tells us what nations will be in the alliance, we don’t have to add no nation.

Those 2 wars are totally different, not only in the alliances who will attack, but the motive is also different

In the Psalm 83 war the main motive is the destruction of the Jews and the nation of Israel, Psalm 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from [being] a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Just because it states in Ezekiel 38 that the motive is to take a spoil does not disqualify their intent. Do you believe that the nations of Ezekiel 38 intend to only take Israel's riches and leave? I know that Iran is the now the biggest problem for Israel, but something will happen with Iran soon, because its not mentioned in the Psalm war, that will be an Arab-Israeli war. @DSboy84ever that's fine. But if you do even a little bit of research on this subject you will find many problems and holes in his theories. I believe in fundamental Bible believing teaching. Bill Salus is a good teacher but I don't necessarily agree with his chain of events. I must prove things before I will accept it completely. This theory still has a few too many flaws. Basically, he is taking a war that does not have an ending and attaching it to this day because it has no ending.

I actually fill in the blanks that you did not mention as to how Iran may be nuetralized . But it's still speculation that is not back up by Scripture. The US and EU can promise all they want to provide protection to Israel, but as long as Iran is freely pursuing nukes, Israel will never dwell safely.

@DSboy84ever it does matter. That passage is one of the major objections as to why Bill Salus says a Psalm 83 war must ake place first to knock down those walls and expand. I heard him say that personally. But as I said in my commentary, Israel can never dwell safely now or after a Psalm 83 war as long as Iran is still pursuing nuclear weapons. Israel's neighbors are no real threat. But time will tell if this is a true last days prophecy or not.

I will give the Psalm 83 war a possibility, but as a political & foreign policy watcher I'm certainly not jumping on board because someone wrote a book on it. I've heard all the angles and there's still a major question mark on the interpretation of this chapter.

@luettem but the peace treaty described in Daniel 9:27 is unique and not like other peace accords. This peace treaty will have time a limit attached to it. There's never been a peace treaty in the history of the world with a time limit attached. But the peace accord that will be declared that will create peace and a Palestinian state does. The full establishment of relinquishing the West Bank to the Palestinians will be over time along with turning control of East Jerusalem over.

Personally, i believe this war will take place at the beginning of the tribulation period just after the peace treaty. I understand the fact that a remnant of Jews will flee to Petra at midway point og Trib. period. But that doesn't mean the remaing Jews who will worship the Antichrist will not continue living in Israel. Israel is a secular society today.

This will take time. Just like if Israel were to discover a masive oil discovery tommorrow it takes at least 5 years to bring it to market. At least that's what an oil expert says. @donnie65301 one more thing to add, if we have the Psalm 83 war, the destruction of Damascus where nuclear weapons will be used making that part of Syria uninhabitable and likely surrounding areas as well, then antichrist peace, start of trib. period, followed by the battle of Gog & Magog, then sometime during the tribulation period a world war where 1/4 of the world will die and many more wounded. I'm having a difficult time seeing all this happening in this order.

Looking at the map of this vast land Israel will obtain after this war it is massive. In my opinion and a number of other prophecy scholars opinion, 5 million plus jews could not possibly manage this vast amount of land. Even now, they have to enlist every available man and woman to protect the New Jersey size land they have now.

Like the time they had 100,000's of thousands of troops and God kept weeding them down til they had (shooting off the hip since I cant recall what book it is) He wanted them to dwindle their troops down to thousands or so, this way when they one it was the God of Israel that got glorified. So in this case I believe the same to be since Egypt will raise a monument to the Lord. Time will tell.

With every available Jew returning to Israel following this war how would they possibly defend this new vast amount of land. It certainly won't b time of peace & safety trying defend this territory. Just conquering a nation in the Islamic world certainly does not gaurantee dwelling safely or securely. The enemy just doesn't go away just because you take their land as proven in Iraq and Afghanistan and we will soon see in Lybia.
