your videos is the best so far that talks about uhm, i will be there for graduate school starting this summer, which dorm (that is relatively cheaper than the 8000 one) do you recommend? i am excited to go to uhm, do you think i should get meal plan? because i heard it is a waste of money!! i hope you are well and congrats
Hi, thanks for comment. Answering to your questions... I never lived in on campus and never had meal plan... so i don't really know what's the best. As far as I know, they didn't really have healthy meals on campus. I think it's way cheaper and healthier to cook if you have a kitchen in your dorm. Sharing house off campus is sometimes cheaper than living on campus. I was paying about $650/month, sharing 2 bed room with two other roommates. Wish you the best in school!
I got accepted to UH manoa and am really considering going for the 2011 semester. I was wondering (for people who go there) is there a lot of racism towards white mainlanders? I am from PA. I think I am a nice person and am excited to meet a diverse group of people, but the iv heard students hate mainlanders. Any comments?
I don't think there was a lot of racism in UH. But may be that because I am Asian. Local people have a bit different cultural background. But if you try to understand them and respect them, you will be fine I think. You need to understand what is rude things to them. Some of my class mates who was from East coast was having trouble understanding local culture. But on the other hand, some class mates from East coast was doing great. So I think it is really up to you. Good luck.
Sorry for throwing so many questions at you, i just figured its better to ask someone who was an actual student at the college rather than the administration, who might just try to convince me to come to the school. Thanks alot :)
Hey, thanks for the video showing the campus.. I was thinking of applying for fall 2010, so i was wondering if maybe you could give me a bit of info :)
How did you like it there? Was the campus clean, well kept? How were the dorm rooms? How many per dorm? How was college transportation? What kind of things were there to do outside of college (shopping, clubs, cinemas, etc..)? How were the professors? Was administration helping? Any sort of job placement program? Any co-op available?
@FocusedDelirium Ok so I know this is way late but. . . Go to studentreviews. com (Without the space) I use that website for looking up schools. Pay no attention to the reviews that only talk about bad stuff.
i just graduated last weekend. campus was huge but shutle but is runnning, and sometimes good to walk because it's nice weather. academics...i think it's depends on people and departments. for me it was good. people were so nice and helpful.

And any general advice for going to school there?

It's ok, but you really need to fix the audio on this thing. I have to turn my speaker up really loud just to hear you somewhat clearly.
