A great example of how NOT to play this piece. Where's the lyricism? Where's the poetry? It seems like halfway through it, he says to himself "this is all wrong" and slows down. Caballero's renderings of some other HVL Etudes (#7 and #12 for example) are great. This one is a flop.

@davinort I am respectively going to disagree. I think he plays it fast however all the voices are heard very clear and the ending is terrific. He is one of the best players that is arising!

i dont think he "says it to himself"...its actually written in the music (Poco meno!) if you ACTUALLY even know the piece. the only reason most people dont play it fast is pretty simple...they cant.
check out bream playing it.

@davinort This study is andantino... that's (more less) a tempo of quarter=70. The thing that you didn't think about is that it's measure is 2/2 ... so i think the speed of this version is ok. This study s based on a piano piece called "A Prole do Bebe Nº1 - Moreninha". Listen to it and you'll figure out why this tempo.
