An amazing lady. I wish I could thank her personally. It's hard to believe that in this world people like this are still around. I live a comfortable life in a the beautiful city of Downey in southern california. But this is where my family is from and it's sad to see. I spent a lot of my childhood there and it was nothing like this. It was a fun place to visit when I would go on vacations from school. My family is from a small coloñia called Satelite. My grandmas house is still there.
todo esto es por el maldito estados unidos el mayor consumidor de drogas en el mundo , si ponen videos de esta clase para poner a juarez como lo peor pero como no ponen un video de como se consume la droga en estados unidos
I am a mexican and i feel proud for this kind of people, this american sister are helping to my race in Juarez and I can say not all american people is bad beacause she is an example of that god bless this sister and Viva Mexico
I am from Juarez. Born and Raised. Ive been to neighborhoods like that and it is true. They do live like that. I am very blessed. My family are professionals so we have never been in that situation. I left 13 years ago before juarez became what it is. Now I will never again return. I praise the nun. She will be rewarded by Our Lord. in life and in Heaven. God Bless the innocent in Juarez. My heard bleeds and I weep for them.
The US found this: why should we go to Irak to do war, sell guns, make american soldiers die and have unpopular governments. It is much easier to make a war in Mexico. Let`s make the mexican goverment declare war on the mafia. And we'll sell guns to both sides, tanks to both side and we will still get the drugs and sell them in america to happy people who are happy to consume it. Pretty smart.
THE best solution for juarez is to close the border build double walls ond electric fence in the american side and bring some troops whit perfect security in the border the drug cartel will have to move to a lees secure location

Well Im from juarez and the women in the interviw really exagerated on the part the "most of us live like this" in houses made with trash, I mean is not India.they really have it bad overthere. i live in a pretty decent clean house, (being poor doesnt mean you have to be filthy ; and most of us do live in decent homes, but all about the violence that it is TRUE Trust me, like i said, just today 01/28/2010 at 2;06 am on my way back home i saw two persons in different locations killed.
well i mean is not like you hear explosions every hours, it is not that bad either, but there are still jobs, less then before but there are still. I have a Flea Market business selling cellphones and thats how i live, pretty decent by the way, i dont complain. but other people have it wors. without exagerating, about 3 to six people knock on my door EVERYDAY to ask for help with food or money or anything cause they lost their jobs, i help them when i can. I'd be nice to receive help form UN
Thanks For your help Alejandro, i;m from juarez, but the best thing you can do is Pray for the Peace of Juarez. Its is crazy in here! i just came home and i saw two assassinations in my way back home, that should tell you how bad it is here.

I feel so sorry and ashamed for being a native of such cesspool of a country that it's Mexico. We are a threat to all of our neighbors, including the U.S.A. We are nothing, worthless, a horde of good-for-nothing apes that only think in getting instant self gratification regardless of the well being of others. We are the laughing stock of the Americas. There is no good people here, believe me. Ive been living here most of my life. We are a sad country in deed.
Brother dont feel ashamed.I'am a Native also. What we need is a strong leader a leader who will take Mexico to it's fullest and make it become the power it's been waiting to be.Mexico is not poor look at the land. From tropical forest's to Dry Desert.Mexico has the resorces but we lack the leadership. One day a man will come or women to save Mexico and rid of the people who give being a Mexican a bad name. When that happen's I will be proud to say "I'am Mexican".

Now, if you excuse me, I will kill myself (just kidding).
The violence in Juarez is one that is known all around the globe these days. The main reason this caos exists is unfortunately because of the evil that lingers in many peoples heart. The only way to defeat these horrible things is with kindness, love and compation. We have stopped loving each other as brothers and sisters, God is the answer. Faith and love is possible in all of us. Teach goodness and forgiveness, let the real power within our soul shine for someone in need.God bless you all

Pero esa cuidad es un infierno. Te pueden violar, oh matar a tu familia. Juarez es un lugar horrible. Deverian destruir a esa cuidad Satanica.
Yeah, too bad "god" has not cared about Mexico for 500 years. Instead of educating these poor people in Juarez, they are given hand outs and more religious false hope. Praying will not stop any of the bullets being fired. Concrete action needs to be taken, otherwise the situation will never be better.
Indeed, hope is needed in order to get people through the day. That being said, I think there is little justification in creating a sense of hope based on religion rather than one based on education. Do you believe that hope cannot be found outside of god? The Christian faith teaches people to put their fates in the hands of others, whereas education allows people to take their fates into their own hands. False hope will only permit survival, academics may give people a chance at a better life.
The Mexican people should form Christian Militias and Vigilanty groups and retake control of their neighborhoods and communities.
Why is the Mexican government not taking care of it's citizens and protecting and caring for them?
The Mexican government no longer cares about its people alive or dead. A government that does not represent its people is an illegitament government and must be removed, forcibly or otherwise.
Kill the Narcos and hold the government accountable.
Some people in Juarez are poor. Please do not speak for a city of 1.4 million people. This video specifically mentions a part of Juarez that is indeed destitute. But there are also ghettos in large American cities like Chicago, Oakland, New York, Los Angeles.
I have no idea where you are getting your "facts", but they are complete bullshit. To say that 2/3 of the homes in Juarez were built out of waste material is absurd beyond comprehension. As someone who has actually been to Juarez, I can without doubt refute your claim. This is all part of a convenient mythology the serves the needs of people on both sides of the border. Why aren't you just upfront about your conscious intention to spread misinformation with the intent to fuel intolerance?
Okay..I'm really sorry, but, I got the number from a book which is now outdated.. I'm not making anything up to spread misinformation, nor do I want to fuel anything. Using as many long words as possible doesn't fortify your arguement, either..
My point was that seeing as gangs and government are the ones with the money and the guns an uprising, especially a 'christian militia' as was previously mentioned sounds like an awful idea. Guns need to be seized and the smuggling of them stopped.
Well, again, your point is wrong. It is simply a false and misleading statement to say that "gangs and government are the ones with the money" (the guns I will concede). The idea that the only money that exists in a city as large and as important as Juarez is in the hands of the government or the drug cartels is just wrong. Mexico is not Afghanistan. Despite corruption and poverty, there is an infrastructure and a business community that exist outside of the drug war.
I don't care whether you disagree and I'm perfectly aware Mexico isn't Afghanistan. Businessmen starting a revolution with no guns? Does that sound as ridiculous to you as it does to me?..
It's really not about disagreements. You are just wrong about facts, that's all. Opinions do not make objective reality. Maybe you don't understand that.
As a kid I used to visit Juarez because of relatives on my mom's side. It actually used to be a pleasure to go over there and visit them. I don't think that would be the case now.
I live in El Paso, we use to visit Jaurez almost every weekend..everyone here has an opinon on the violence and of course it is human nature to be scared to go back,I feel for the children who have to do without even more because of the violence i feel for everyone who live there.Because of this story i will find a way of donating what i can to the centers like this one, and i will pray for them daily.
First off, God bless Sister Donna. Thank you sister for doing your share of Gods work and trying to make the world, or at least Mexico, a better place to live.
Second: I think Mexicans should really consider forming organised Christian Militias to protect innocent civilians, attack and remove drug cartels/ gangs from neighborhoods and power and control, and hold their own government leaders, local and national, accountable. Use vigilantism and retake the streets for the people.
An amazing lady. I wish I could thank her personally. It's hard to believe that in this world people like this are still around.

Yeah, too bad "god" has not cared about Mexico for 500 years. Instead of educating these poor people in Juarez, they are given hand outs and more religious false hope. Praying will not stop any of the bullets being fired. Concrete action needs to be taken, otherwise the situation will never be better.
lamouchemorte 2 years ago
False hope is still hope. Sometimes that's what it takes to get through the day when you live in the situation these people do.
azzolinid 2 years ago

The gangs and the Government have the guns and the power. The people of Juarez are starved and poor. I think what you just said is impossible.

Why aren't you just upfront about your conscious intention to spread misinformation with the intent to fuel intolerance?
lamouchemorte 2 years ago
Okay..I'm really sorry, but, I got the number from a book which is now outdated.. I'm not making anything up to spread misinformation, nor do I want to fuel anything. Using as many long words as possible doesn't fortify your arguement, either..
My point was that seeing as gangs and government are the ones with the money and the guns an uprising, especially a 'christian militia' as was previously mentioned sounds like an awful idea. Guns need to be seized and the smuggling of them stopped.
Superterrestrial 2 years ago
Well, again, your point is wrong. It is simply a false and misleading statement to say that "gangs and government are the ones with the money" (the guns I will concede). The idea that the only money that exists in a city as large and as important as Juarez is in the hands of the government or the drug cartels is just wrong. Mexico is not Afghanistan. Despite corruption and poverty, there is an infrastructure and a business community that exist outside of the drug war.

Oh and about the "long" words: I am only using the words I find necessary to be understood. Sorry if that offends you somehow.
lamouchemorte 2 years ago
I don't care whether you disagree and I'm perfectly aware Mexico isn't Afghanistan. Businessmen starting a revolution with no guns? Does that sound as ridiculous to you as it does to me?..
Superterrestrial 2 years ago
It's really not about disagreements. You are just wrong about facts, that's all. Opinions do not make objective reality. Maybe you don't understand that.

As a kid I used to visit Juarez because of relatives on my mom's side. It actually used to be a pleasure to go over there and visit them. I don't think that would be the case now.
slavebunny4u 2 years ago
I live in El Paso, we use to visit Jaurez almost every weekend..everyone here has an opinon on the violence and of course it is human nature to be scared to go back,I feel for the children who have to do without even more because of the violence i feel for everyone who live there.Because of this story i will find a way of donating what i can to the centers like this one, and i will pray for them daily.

Nuns are going to have to get raw in the war on drugs. Personally I think it would be great to see a nun firing at drug traffickers with an AK.
