Were there any other episodes where Geoff subbed for Monty, due to the illness mentioned at the top of the show? Or was it only a single episode he did?
Geoff Edwards was underrated. Just kills me he wasn't pegged to do more network stuff and was relegated to syndicated programming. He would have done better on the 1990 remake of LMAD not discounting Bob Hilton's ability as a host/announcer.
Is 1984-1985 LMAD announcer Brian Cummings the brother of active animated cartoon voice artist Jim Cummings (best known for voicing Bonkers D. Bobcat, Darkwing Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, and Pete Pete among others)?
The All New Let's Make A Deal is owned by FremantleMedia, And also Warner Brothers Television, because Telepictures Productions distribute LMAD from 1984-1986.
What about all the people who pinched hit for Meredith's Millionaire? Jamie Farr subbing on WordPlay or Sally Struthers doing Win Lose or Draw for Vicki.
Also for part times in 1998-2004 Hollywood Squares with Tom Bergeron: Rosie O Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Peter Marshall each hosted part of the show.

@blozier2006 Geoff subbed for Monty the entire week, IIRC.

@TheChampionWithin Monty: "Get out of here before I give you a Zonk, Vickie!"

Did Mr. Edwards always talk in such a fast sounding voice?
animegal2686 1 month ago
that comment on vickie, 2 words! ... oooooh boi! that now, would be more of a nightmare, than a zonk!

At 4:26, WWE's Vickie Guerrero makes a guest appearance. *snicker*

Both ladies made a good deal.

Geoff Edwards did a great job. I kind of wish CBS and Fremantle picked him to do LMAD 2009. But Wayne Brady might be okay.
godgundam10 2 years ago
I don't think Geoff wants to do anymore game shows. Plus Fremantle always goes for the younger celebs for their shows.
johnissoevil 2 years ago
Geoff Edwards is 78 years old, and I doubt he would want to host anymore. I think Wayne Brady should do a good job on LMAD.

Edwards had the knack for this show.Treasure Hunt was like LMAD,and they were great shows in their own way.
And another thing,Geoff went from "Klunks" to "Zonks".How many other MC's can say that?

I wonder why Monty swicthed to entering the LEFT side and not the RIGHT side anymore.

Not related. Brian did do some voices for Disney as well.

You have the 1985 or 1986 eps of LMAD since GSN didn't get that far?
nextbarker 3 years ago
Unfortunately, I don't. This is the only episode I have.

GSN should've gotten the 2nd season to ANLMAD, ridiculous to go all the way back to 1971.
nextbarker 3 years ago
nah, I don't count that, Pat and Alex switched on April Fools Day, so I d0pn't count April Folls shows.
nextbarker 3 years ago
Is Geoff Edwards the last game show host to substitue for another game show host?
nextbarker 3 years ago
As far as I know, yes, unless you count the GSN originals on 4/1/03 where the hosts shuffled shows as an April Fool's joke.

There's also Mark Goodson subbing for Alex Trebek on To Tell The Truth.

Jackpot went into the 1990s? I thought it ended in 1989.
nextbarker 3 years ago
Good point. CR did go into 1991. For some reason, I thought Jackpot lasted a season and a half.

I noticed the 70s version Monty came in from the right side, but in the 80s he came in on the other side, I wonder why.
nextbarker 3 years ago
Must be the ways the studio were set up.
secondchance1977 3 years ago
Geoff, did a good job for Monty Hall, where was he when the 90s version came on?
nextbarker 3 years ago
He was busy with Chain Reaction and Jackpot.

Did Geoff ever refer to a "Zonk" as a "Klunk" by mistake?
tvtimetravel 3 years ago
I didn't catch him doing that at all that week.
johnissoevil 3 years ago
Geoff made no slipups on that the entire time he subbed.
behemoth8504 2 years ago
in this clip he did refer to the "trading center" when Monty always called it the "trading floor." not a huge deal
joebradio 2 years ago
Geoff proves he can host LMAD. It must've been those years on Treasure Hunt.
palmercomm 3 years ago 2
I think so too, just as Dennis James' filling in on the original LMAD helped him do well on nighttime Price.
