Depends how you teach religion. In Sweden we have a class calld Religion, where we go trough the biggest religions, what the main thing is in it, the different sects, what there holy book is calld, and so forth. But never are we teached as if it were more then philosophy.

Marriage was developed for economic reasons, not religious. Religion just co-ops it, like they do with other things.

That is exactly the way it should be taught, if taught at all. That is ho they teach it at the college level here. Nothing wrong with that.
