There is special powder available for handfeeding. I am using it aswell this year, 15 young canaries are already flying around in the birdroom .... and the next 21 eggs are laid.

Its really much work with the handfeeding. I fed them up to 5 times a day and it took me at least half an hour each time. And that was just additionally to the feeding the parents did!

I think they are starlings but not absolutely sure. In which case probably wild. They're considered pests since they're an invasive species -European in origin.
