96 with that tractor sounding motor...yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. The ONLY way that boat made 96 mph is on a trailer with someone pulling it.
a lower unit can blow out, but that doesn't mean it can't go fast. some boats don't handle good with nose cones and are actually faster with stock lowers. It all depends on how the prop bites.
What boat? No way that thing is running 96 the way it sits in this video. Motor is to low due to the Lower not having Cone, Motor looks totally stock, still has air box on for one thing. Not to mention this is a 2.4, would need some serious port work to make power. If this was a 2.5 MAYBE. What else you got, show us some running videos.
I should have a few videos up by Oct 15th with gps footage of 96+. At one time this engine was a stock 200 2.4 but has been beefed up since the origional video along with the installation of a bobs cle, infact the video that was origionally posted was the very day the engine was hung still under stock specs.
96 on gps on lake keystone, i had velcro strapps on the steering wheel they broke, i suffered 1 broken rib and a busted skeg, which i replaced with a bobs cle. i am about to add a new video
17 foot boat, over 200 hp, that thing can run 96 mph doesnt matter the lower unit. those max's crank and its a tiny boat. my 16 footer with a 150 xr2 runs 75.
Doesn't matter on the lower unit??? You better do some reading before you post more BS... Blowout speed is 80mph. with a stock lower, you need a performance lower unit to run 96... Put all the motor you want to it, if she doesn't have a CLE she'll blow out on you... Tell this BS to your buddies...
you are right in one aspect. Infact the engine was sitting on the transom flush with no jackplate blowout is 80 mph but with a jackplate offsetting the engine back into clean water changing the cg you are wrong. Also let me add this, this engine was a 200 @ one time.

96 kilometers per hour maybe... You don't even have the lower unit to run 96 mph or the motor for what it's worth!!!

the stock lower unit on that motor can handle 96 mph the lower units on the old 200s were beefy.

You're an idiot!!! Again, do your homework before you post this BS...
