I love your passion for cooking and the way you explain things...i tried many of your recipes...they taste deliciously awesome.....love u so much sanjay keep rocking...:)
Actually this is called Mangalore Bonda. Mysore Bonda is made of the same batter which medu vadas are made (should be without onion)> Please check this with your Mysore friends.
And im being honest cus plain flour is used in pancakes 2 right, all dis recipe is pancake taste with jeera yuk yuk thinking about it brings me that awful taste back again, so no firefire i do know authentic indian food & wy they taste like pancake wen its meant2 be a myraw ppanda
@brandy67543 That's interesting. It should be more like the batter for Sweet & Sour Chicken or Fried Mushrooms. Vah chef's batter doesn't have sugar. And I don't believe Pancakes have Rice flour in the batter. I can imagine eating pancake mix with Jeera & I'd agree - Yuk. What amounts of each ingredient did you use for your batter?
@firefire763 everyone has different taste choices of foods and opinions. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and myraw fratta or mysue ponda wateva itis called was horrible PERIOD.
That goes to say i wont be following his cooking tips too cus i tried a second recipe and it wasnt nice. Vah chef isnt a good cook sorry am just being truthful
Obviously you don't know how authentic Indian food tastes then. I only use Vah chef's recipes when I cook, and it always turn out delicious. My INDIAN husband loves his recipes too. (I am American, and I love to use his recipes because they are so easy, and turn out good.)
OMG!!! did you eat them all? just choking. Please next time explain precise and tell which flour did you use, I think you said all purpose flower? However, your cooking is execellant.

theres no substitute, if you use different flour, you'll get a different dish as there are many varieties of bonda/bhajjis made with different flours. I don't know where in the UK you live but in the London area there should be lots of indian shops, you will probably find it at a Indian or Oriental grocery market not the mainstream ones. If not get raw rice and put it in a coffee grinder without adding any water. It should work.
I always watch ur video... I tried mysore bonda it is very easy and it came out very well..ya...my husband & my daugther like very much .....best of luck...thanks a lot.

Well that was very nice of you to have informed everyone that this is not Mysore Bonda, pray will you please add as to what Mysore Bonda is and how its made.
This is not mysore Bonda the original name for this is Goli Bajay (ಗೋಳಿ ಬಜೆ) till date the favorite snack of DK ( dakshina kannada or south canara or Mangaloe district)
You are right. For Mysoe Bobda, you need to use urud. Soak Urudhal in water for a couple of hours, Grind with some ginger and green chillies to make a batter. Salt to taste. You can add small pieces of coconut, For frying you can follow this chef.
I had a version of these many years ago made with bananas at a restaraunt in Manhatten. I ave tried to find them several times but couldn't even remember the name of them. How would I adapt this recipe to make it with the bananas?
Your right about the buttermilk near the cream in North America, however, i think Sanjay refers to watered down yogurt as buttermilk...thats what we call buttermilk in India (add water to "curd" or yogurt).

Hey Coolfairy095, you can find buttermilk in the dairy section of kroger or similar kind of store in your area.....or u can just put 1 or 2 tea spoon of vinegar to 1 cup of milk to make it in the home....
