This is the talent I want in my next life. Imagine being able to express yourself to a girl in this way. What a Christmas gift when you pull out a few sheets of lyrics and just lay this song on her. Amazing.
Another quiet storm jam. When I first heard it, I had to stay awake for 2 weeks trying to hear it again and find out who sang this!! Ran out and bought the cassette(LOL) immediately!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of both Michael & Kenny, but "The Average White Band" did a live version of "A Love Of Your Own" man! They blew me away! Check it out here on YouTube.
@DrOCkABlEs With all due respect, you left someone very important off your "baddest white boys list"--DARYL HALL!!!! Michael and Kenny are definitely great talents, but it's Daryl that brings the SOUL!! And he's so rockin' HOT!!!!!!!!!
Ive always loved this song it reminds me of my mom listening to this when i was growing up in the 1980s rest in peace mom you know how to pick a good song.
Wow. His music will always withstand the test of time--just incredible. Any chance you could upload more from "The Unimaginable Life"? Thanks for this!
@alkebulan2012 .. This is the same song as George Howard... Just with Kenny's vocals. I love George Howards version. But the vocals are perfect. From such an unlikely jazz artist.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Truly timeless and soul-moving, heart-touching, and a thing of beauty and grace. THIS is great music. Makes 1985 seem like yesterday. Reminds me of my soul mate Cathleen, each and every time I hear it. If love could be expressed in words, this song comes the closest. Thanks Kenny for the artistry, the musicians for the music, and you for the posting. It's in my favorites.
They honestly do not make beautiful music like this anymore! I remember searching for this album at Tower Records with my father........time flies does it not? I love being alive! God is great!
Very under rated project. Rnb as good as justin, robin or any blue eyed soulster today. This project had philip bailey and the present comeback kid el debarge

@MrTonedeff Again thanks for the info on David Sanborn he's one of my fav's going back to the 80's his sax playing is unmistakable.Port of Call is my personal fav from him.

@MrTonedeff Again thanks Tone for the info on David again became a fan of his in the 80's thanks to "Port Of Call" from his lp "Straight From The Heart"
I can remember the first time I heard this in 1985...it mesmerized my soul like CRAZY...and it helped me get that girl I was madly in love with...now we broke up. Oh well. Great song, though! ...and David Sanborn plays his ass off on the Sax solo.
He's always done good r&B. PPl like to deny it but Kenny is a bad mutha! He songs are some of my fondest childhood memories. Blue eyed soul rules! From a little black woman from Philly.
@jynupe... I got you on that George Howard's sax version of "Love Will Follow... I have my days when i listen to only GH... RIP.......The sweetness and tenderness of Kenny's voice makes me melt. Peace n Love
This is such an amazing song. It really takes you places. :-) I remember hearing it on the Quiet Storm station back in NY in the 90's & wondering who could this possibly be? This man's voice is such a GEM!
@PrincessLibra1013 I'm 10/14! Libras are the best lovers! We love beauty and romance. We are the sexiest of the signs. I am sure you have a list of songs you keep in mind for romantic moments. I won't even listen to them with men who I don't love cause don't want to associate the guy with the song cause it would affect the residual affect.
Love will follow was written by kenny loggins and Thomas Righter Snow in 1986 it appeared on the Vox Human albulm and was the b-side of the 45 inch playing with the boys from the Top GUN soundtrack it ALSO appeared on the Jimmy Messina/Kenny Loggins do you want to dance/love will follow 12' Vinyl in 1988 Shanice made a duet with him on the Kenny Loggins album entitled "Outside: From the Redwoods."
ABSOLUTELY Beautiful!!!!! One of my FAVORITE songs. Ive been playing it since I was a teen (it's timeless!). It truly takes u 2another place--SERIOUSLY! Kenny's voice, the lyrics, the music--PERFECT! Cant get enuf or say enuf abt this song! Thanks SO much 4 posting!
This is such a dreamy song. Listening this takes you back to the good old days, you smile & enjoy what you thought the first time you heard this one here!!! Gosh this is real music, I'm in my early thirties and old enough to appreciate REAL MUSIC!! Thanks for posting!
I'm sorry but Kenny Loggins is still the man on this tune and Carl Anderson's version is just a different flavor on a classic that's all. It's not that it's any better just different, don't hate people!

Kenny is simply amazing! Not to take anything away from a wonderful career but I wish Kenny would of composed more songs like this. The man has so much talent he could easily cut out another dozen solid tracks like "Love Will Follow" and cement his position in soul/neo-soul history. This song has always been on my heavy rotation. Thanks for posting and thank you Kenny.
i said the same thing but in atlanta they only played this once in a blue moon on the jazz channel and THEN i didnt know it was him because they didnt announce the artist or the song at the end,, he should have kept this formula as should george benson(but felt he sold out when he went mainstream) this is solid recording very beautiful says uzipolo king of decatur
Dayum I almost forgot Kenny Loggins made this joint! This got major play on urban stations here in Detroit. Good look posting this one. This is so smooth....
I agree. I think Kenny is in the same league as Gino Vannelli when it comes to a non-black actually grasping the concept of "soul" in their music the same way we do.
kenny loggins vocals are so beautiful on this song.....It brings back such good memories of love for the very first time and how wonderful it all was.....thank you so much for posting this
I broke my ankle and had to just sit and listen to my stereo radio. I heard this one time and it took me to good places. That's how I got through my pain.. Thanks for the post.
A friend of mind many years ago introduced me to the Mother Lode Album, and I have loved his music every since. This is the type of music that makes you dream.........Janet Chapman of Portland Oregon who roomed with Cindy Bernard Thank you
I'm feeling this R&B tune by the Loggin, his son also sings. I'm not sure if he has the vocal range like pops. Even though it's way back in the day, it still remains the same today. Thanks for posting.
heyroz27 I have 2 give u mad props on this one. I bought this tape while on deployment in Korea in 1987. Love Will Follow is undeniably a underrated classic. So many memories. Memories of love laughter and joy. Thanks again to u and Kenny Loggins.
Everytime I play this, no one is able to name Kenny as the artist. When I insist, they r all WOWED AND BLOWN by the melody and the beautiful arrangement. Love it, many thanks.
Ilove this :-)

The man has so much talent he could easily cut out another dozen solid tracks like "Love Will Follow" and cement his position in soul/neo-soul history. This song has always been on my heavy rotation. Thanks for posting and thank you Kenny.

i said the same thing but in atlanta they only played this once in a blue moon on the jazz channel and THEN i didnt know it was him because they didnt announce the artist or the song at the end,, he should have kept this formula as should george benson(but felt he sold out when he went mainstream) this is solid recording very beautiful says uzipolo king of decatur

kenny mimics dave's alto with his own alto impeccably.
this cat is the underrated genius of white boy soul.
and nate east goes nuts on this joint.
givin' marcus a run for the money.

I agree. I think Kenny is in the same league as Gino Vannelli when it comes to a non-black actually grasping the concept of "soul" in their music the same way we do.
