Watching this brings tears to my eyes. I spent so many years of my life watching this show with my father. And to be brought up in the same City as this was filmed in. THIS was why Joel could never be truly replaced... He was laid-back and casual, whereas Mike came across more intense and forced for the most part. Joel's comedy was more natural and authentic!!
Joel's riffs were more subdued and good natured where as Mike had a little more bite and sarcasm. Both had their own styles, but both of them made it work. Despite casting changes, MST3K was a solid show all around.
i liked at the end of "future war" when mike started acting really weird and crow was like "what's all this really about here, mike, is this because joel stopped by recently?"

Considering this episode was in their final season,I'm surprised they didn't have him appear on the final episode,his return somehow figuring into their return to Earth.
I remember having a huge smile on my face when I first saw this scene. This was one of my favorite MST moments that didn't involve them rifting a movie. I like Joel and Mike...both funny guys. ^.^
