  • This is SUCH a good point. I think that's what's so appealing about NYR, the 31-day commitment to the unknown. Also, ZOOM! :D I was in love with that show when I was younger!

  • Well, there is always more to learn. I don't a good reason to be bored. Also, nice t-shirt flirt.

  • ZOOM!! God that show was awesome. Also, I completely agree. This happens to me all the time, where I'll have nothing that NEEDS to get done, so I just sort of drift. That was basically my summer. But it also happens when I'm super-mega busy, like now, and have so much to do that I can't pick on thing and end up just freaking out and whining instead of buckling down and tackling one project at a time. When you should always be doing something else, it's really hard to focus on what you ARE doing.

  • @DreamerRealist Exactly!

  • This is totally awesome. :] I will invest in this, at some point.

  • @Cophenalypse Yay! :)

  • Morton's list hmmm I don't really have spontaneous friends, but I'll make sure to keep it in the back of my mind. If I'm really bored I either read, go on the computer, or sleep and I'm tired a lot of the time, so sleep is almost always an option.

  • @Batmanlikespi Now that I think about it, none of those things seem exciting at all. Maybe I could find a book on how to cure boredom for one person.

  • @Batmanlikespi Haha. You could still do Morton's List alone but it's not quite as fun.

  • You have inspired me! I think I'm going to get up and crochet a scarf.

  • @defense360 yay! :)

  • You seem fun! You know, this sort of reminds me of geohashing from from the xkcd webcomic. Which I'd probably be more motivated to do it if I lived in America where I suspect you'd be more likely to encounter other geohashers, although it seems like it could be fun in itself. Actually, it'd be interesting to mix together something like Morton's List with geohashing.

  • @jakebowkett01 That does sound fun. I've always wanted to try geocaching (is that the same as geohashing? I haven't read the comic). I bet somewhere in the Morton's List book there is an adventure that involves geocaching...

  • @alyiswriting No, they're not the same. Geohashing is following randomly generated coordinates relative to your 1x1 latitude/longitude zone. It will lead you to a randomly, but relatively nearby area which you have to go to. It could be "in the forest, in a city, on a mountain, or even in the middle of a lake!" It's worth googling (it's the first result for xkcd geohashing). Now I also know about geocaching though!

  • @jakebowkett01 Oh cool - that does sound like it could have awesome results when combined with Morton's List - having to do a certain task in a certain place, and you're not even sure what the place is until you get there!

  • I think your Pikachu needs to lay off the rare candy.

  • @thewalruswasdave My pikachu's body is beautiful just the way it is!

  • hm, that book/game sounds interesting! you're so right though- it's not even just when I'm bored, but it's more when I have nothing that HAS to be done that day; I just lounge and start to do things, but never end up finishing anything...

  • @BlakesNo1 I was thinking about that too when I was making this - it's not always exactly "boredom," but I couldn't think of how else to describe it.

  • I think you're right. That happens to me all the time, when ever I don't have anything specific to do one day, I always end up just doing a little bit of everything and getting nothing done. Thanks for the suggestion of making a list, I'll try it next time it happens n_n

  • @MyInterwebs Hope it works out for you! :)
