OK - I was sitting on the bench outside of the Japan market on 9/12/10 (daughters birthday @ WDW). There was a storm rolling in, and I was watching the lightening across the lake. This was playing on the speakers. One of those moments in life where it's just so serene, and a memory I will never forget. Immediately went into the market and bought the CD. Awesome melody....
I light up the way of the ahead brightly by the month of the heart without the cloudiness and will go straight ahead through the darkness of the world that is hard to live
The rest of the songs that the play before Illuminations starts is the following: "Jalan Kopo" by Habas Mustapha, "Falling through a Cloud" by Uttara-Kuru, "Busindre Reel" by Hevia, "Gaviotes" by Hevia, "Tula" by Cusco, and of course the one that you heard, which is "Our Life" by Uttara-Kuru, But, I hope that this answers your questions as to what the other songs they play before Illuminations start. All together, that's a total of 30-minutes worth of music! Enjoy listening to the other tracks!
However, there's another version of the show that has "30-Års Jiggen" by Väsen and a few other more European songs than were in the version you listed. I found a list of most of the tracks in this version, but there are a few songs I remember hearing that I couldn't figure out.
I remember one song plays immediately after "Inca Dance" by Cusco. I don't remember which version of the show it was in, but the mystery song had kind of an upbeat, folksy Euro-style hoedown fiddle and accordion sound.
I've looked up all the songs that were listed for both version on the "Listen to Illuminations" article on Amazon. None of them were the song I'm thinking of, unfortunately.
No problem! I'm trying to do this with all my CD's, especially the ones that are harder to find elsewhere, but I forgot the CD cases at home. Most of them have the lyrics and I'd prefer to post them with them. I'm pretty sure there's at least some information from this group that I can add later, so check it out later.

One amazing track, indeed. Excellent combination of a hard-styled new-age electronical track! Love it.

In my opinon this is really well constructed song. Greta compostion and choice of instrument ( particulary the wood wind and rock steady piano).
Uttara is a gifted and senstive composer
