Oh my gosh, that's my exact same scale!!! How Funny! My scale still works back from 2001. Good model,
Gonna go check out the Response. Great Funny Friendly video. I wish I had shipped my futon to the US when I return. I've missed it so much and it was a nice thick set!
@Metqa Thanks for popping in Metqa. It really does seem to be difficult to get real Japanese-style futon once one leaves Japan. Of course the futon in N.A. are "real N.A. futon" which is different from those here.
@alSmayerAbrar Sorry, I don't know about online. I am sure if you do some good keyword searches you will find. And don't be too surprised if they seem expensive. Good futon are expensive.
Hi! I saw Mitch's video before yours and I would like to tell you how kind I think you were to send him one of your futons plus covers. He seems to be thoroughly enjoying it and appeared to be genuinely appreciative! I'm sure your goodwill will be repaid one day! :) Peace.
Morticia - Your kind comments to both Mitch and I are more than enough in "payback". I know he is already spreading the Globalized Love concept, and happiness for everyone, one person at a time is my goal before I kick the bucket at 202 years old.
Yes, Mitch seems like a good kid indeed and with a sense of humor too! You're not too bad yourself! As for kicking the bucket at 202, you are in the right place; Japan and the extended life expectancy might just help you get there - well that and your very positive out look! You and Mitch spread your Globalized Love concept to me, a 42 year old bird in Atlanta GA, and you guys didn't even know it! Thank you! Y'all take care now! Peace and XOXO!
took longer then i expected but i finaly got it i will say i haven't slept this well for years thanks so much for this video and inspiring me to get one
i was going to order the shiki futon although im kinda confused as what else to buy with it i saw many vids were they had alot of different things what is a main setup for that? like what else would i need
if you can comment back would be much appreciated thanks :)
Ice - All you really need is a shiki which is the futon itself. Everything else, you can just use your regular sheets, your regular blankets, your regular quilts, your regular pillows. Don't go overboard. Just get the futon. It's only called "shiki" because it goes under you. That's all. Save yourself money and use all the other stuff you have.
And on top of that, my suggestion is to go one level up in futon with the money you can save by not buying all the other stuff. The better the quality futon you get, the better the sleep you will have because the inside padding is what makes or breaks these babies. And what makes them last 5-10 years.
And always remember this: you only have a few inches between you and that rock hard floor, so once those few inches give out on you, all you have is hard floor and lumps.
Best of luck! Let me know how it turns out, will you?
Thanks, Rossy. I recently got an email from Mitch telling me that he's always late for work because the futon won't let him go in the mornings.... now that's sleeping!
hey cams its mr again for the futons you could get the matress (shikibuton) and i heard something about a conforter (kakebuton) i also nedd to know jow to set it up
The shikibuton is what everyone calls the futon. You sleep on that. Get a futon cover. Then put under/over sheets on it like a bed. Sleep between the sheets. Toss on a blanket, and then the kakebuton (like a quilt/comforter) over top as it gets colder and you are set!
yes, the thick heavy one (red I think) is the shiki (the one you lay on). the kake is like a duvet, or quilt. And you can use whatever blankets and pillows are best for you! Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
Hey cam what is a shiki futon is it the one that you lay one or what if not what is the one you lay on? please replyby a comment or send a messege thanks man
i really would like your help to find a futon! No need to send me extra or anything, but is there a particular store that perhaps ships to US? My american bed does not work, i would very much like to try something new, for the new year! Let me know please at your convenience! Namaste - iain (PS. Thanks for the great videos! Very cool stuff :)
Mitch only has one futon, the one I sent him from Japan. I DID have one more... but that one went to Jake in Maine. He should be making us a video in a month or two!
This is my "kingbird" pendant made for my by Allison Strine. You can find her on Etsy, or you can view my other video where I introduce this pendant to the world... let me get it and let you know. And thanks for noticing it!!!
Mitch sent me an email letting me know that the package arrived in his local post office, and will await his imminent return (he had to suddenly leave town for a week... but I don't think it was due to any white collar criminality or anything like that...) So... the next update will be Mitch's video response, next week!
As of Nov 18th, it is being retained at the delivery post office beginning with the Postal Code Starting with B3K. Since Mitch is B3H, it is probably waiting in his town for him to return!
I have to unexpectedly leave town this week for some medical reasons, so I might not be able to open the package right away!! But rest assured, it WILL be opened. :D
I know, I checked myself. Sometimes when it goes to other countries, those countries don't enter the data so it "goes dark" for a while, then suddenly shows up on your doorstep. As it passes from post to post, they depend upon the other countries' postal systems to input the data... Stuf has never been lost.
Mission Accomplished! I just came back from the post office and mailed off the kakebuton and shikibuton and the two futon covers to Mitch! I hope he enjoys them when they arrive (in about a week, depending upon Canada Customs) and I know we all look forward to his video response!
Mitch... enjoy, and THANK YOU!
I GLOBALIZED LOVE YOU! (IGLU!!)
P.S. I have a few more futon I can give away if anybody else wants to pay for the shipping & handling...
12 kg holy cow! The whole set!? There's a smile on my face right now that is even too big for that box. I'm excited! and in debt to your kindness. I'll make a video of me opening it when it arrives!!
Oh my gosh, that's my exact same scale!!! How Funny! My scale still works back from 2001. Good model,

agramon11 2 years ago
Do both futons need a cover sheet? or just the kakebuton?
germanicus24 2 years ago
Don't need to cover any of them if you don't want. Just wrap the lower one in a sheet, and use the upper one as is. Keep your costs down.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. Very much appreciated. Now I am in the practice of hanging my brand new futon ^^
