  • This movie needed more Clopin!

  • Comment removed

  • Leave it to the French to execute people via elaborate musical number.

  • Wait! I object!

    Over ruled!

    I object!

QUIET! *puts his hat over the puppet*

    ...Dang.

    XD

  • Reminds me of the Slytherin Common Room...

  • i swear clopin just gives gravity the fingar

  • I would have loved to see their faces when the torch went out...

  • It's a double header :D

  • If I ever got the chance to choose the person who killed me it would be Clopin. If I'm going to die I want to be entertained dammit!

  • @japperjay52 can I use your quote in one of my screenplay? *if i'm going to die, I want to be entertained damnit*... you made my day!

  • I can just imagine the writers pitching Clopin...

Writers: He's sort of the cool, funny jester who's also the narrator, he starts the story by telling it to the local children.

Disney: Good, good, does he come up later?

Writers: Yeah, it turns out he's judge, jury and exacutioner to Paris' underworld.

    Disney:0_0

    Writers: Chicks'al diggit.

  • @docterfantazmo The writers weren't wrong. I had such a crush on Clopin when I was nine or so. XD

  • @DragonflameWolfpaw oh my gosh, me too. He's so awesome :D

  • So were they just hanging around in the sewer in full costume with their band on standby on the vague off-chance that someone would come prying? And hey, what if you were attacked from multiple directions at once?

"Sir! Intruders in the south tunnel!" "DAMN! OUR SONG-AND-DANCE TEAM IS ALREADY ENGAGING TRESSPASSERS AT THE WEST ENTRANCE!"

  • Love that little puppet :P "Dang." XD

  • You could never get away with talking about hanging someone or death today. Disney and today's society are too PC.

  • The only bad thing about this song is that it's too short. >:

  • That akward moment when they run into the Phantom in the catacombs.

  • @predatorderwahnsinn

    Nah, maybe his great-great grandfather

    Or just great grandfather

  • One of my favorite Disney songs

  • Yeah! It's kind of funny because in public, he's the fool who goes around entertaining! But underground, he's the mafia/gypsy leader and STILL entertaining LOL!! In fact, so dedicated to his role, that we even see him entertaining his "guests" before he executes them lmao which makes him both cool and utterly mad in one package deal lol (he's my fav character in movie)

  • @Andromidicus I'm glad I'm not the only one whose favorite character is Clopin. When I was little, I got a Clopin mask from McDonalds and I held it up over my face for like a week because I thought he was the coolest/most badass guy ever.

    True story.

  • lmao, the joker is funny... who woulda thunk?

  • 0:40 Magical Gypsy Music Button

  • i want to have a play at my school about this so i can play clopin JUST for theese part

  • I wonder if this happens all the time when someone break the rules....

don't mess with clopin at monopoly night!

  • No one does ADHD like Clopin. Not even Gaston.

  • I love clopin

  • I can't be the only girl who totally had a thing for Clopin

  • @yupitsjessbbyx3 i know a few girls who did... so nope

  • @yupitsjessbbyx3 Νο belive me you're not!

  • @yupitsjessbbyx3 You're not. I'm right there with you.

  • @yupitsjessbbyx3 You're about five years too late. They say he's run out of room to put the fangirls' bodies.

  • i been in the tourist part of the catacombs

  • @BowerbirdProductions He had coffee. Three hours before that point. For 20 minutes after his last cup of coffee HE was catching fire because he was moving so fast.

  • It seems like Quasimodo and Phoebus, when muffled at 1:59 - 2:01, were trying to say "Frollo is trying to kill all of you."

    Am I correct?

  • "They're not spies, their our friends!"

    "Why didn't they say so?"

    Both: "We did say so!"

  • "wait I object"

    "over ruled"

    "I object"

    "quiet"

    "Kay"

    lmao fuuuuuunnnnyyyy hahahaha

  • @Sillyness2210 The puppet says "Dang!", not "Kay". It's to rhyme with "hang" in the next line.

  • @EllaDiabola I hear Kay so I dont care. Thanks for the correction!

  • It may just be me, but I kind of think Captain Phoebus bears a strange resemblance to Kurt Cobain.

  • @Mandemon1990 At the end of Arkham city Harley Quinn is pregnant, I would so love it if Joker's kid was like Clopin XD

  • I never noticed he switched cloths @ 2:12 O_O

  • 1:52. Phoebus is not amused.

  • Clopin's a damn good dancer! When he's standing on that beam and jiggling his hips all over the place... yum yum :D

  • @EllaDiabola Who do you think taught Esme?

  • @AtarahDerek Ha, I know; I always figured Clopin taught Esmeralda :D

  • Let's take all the guards AND MOVE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE!

  • You know, a guard, a booby trap.....

    or an ambush

    A MUSICAL AMBUSH!!!!!

  • @PoisonEveele If I ever find myself in a scenario where I get ambushed, it had darn well be accompanied by a show-stopping number. XD

  • I like how the guy can just change clothes randomly like that.

  • @wylon87 Umm! I don't know! DERP DERP! Magic! DERP HERP HERP DERP!

  • Clopin is such an underrated character.

  • I swear Clopin is somesort of bastard child of Joker. I mean, he is having WAY too much one...

  • @Mandemon1990 or seeing how this is middle ages france than maybe joker is a descendent of clopin

  • @Mandemon1990 Glad Im the only one who noticed! though, I think Clopin is a little kinder...

  • @Mandemon1990 more like his ancestor

  • @Mandemon1990 A bastard child born before his father? . . . Man that Joker gets around!

  • @FooEmpress

This is Joker we are talking about. He stole looked at his family tree, stole a time machine and went and nailed Clopins mother.

  • @Mandemon1990 Think logically of the times! He'd be the Joker's grandfather!

  • @Mandemon1990 Or the Joker's ancestor more likely.

  • But the dead don't twalk

    :3

  • 0:47 look at his face!!!!!!!!

  • Is it just me cause I see that clopin left side of his mouth is chipped and so is the other side I'm just pointing that out

  • Remember the old Star Trek? Scotty always said, "I can't change the laws of physics!" Well, then, he should have talked to Clopin.

  • we find you totaly innocent which is the worst crime of all wait 23 people dislike this video that is bad NOOSE for them

  • Yeah let's take every guard to watch the show rather than watching the entrance -___________-

  • 23 people will be ambushed and hanged. Musically.

  • Do you remember wanting to run through the plains of Africa with Simba?

Swing through the jungle with Tarzan?

Go to the enchanted castle with Belle?

Go to the ball with Cinderella?

Ride a magic carpet with Aladdin?

    Save China with Mulan?

Shrink to toy size to play with Buzz and Woody?

Turn into mer-people and go under the sea with Ariel?

If you want Disney to bring back movies like these repost this note on other disney movies so the disney copration might see it

  • Only one man can execute two people and make a damn good entertaining show of it all.

  • oh clopin you do make me giggle... *sigh*

  • Well there is a place where the Lame can't walk and the blind can't see and the dead don't talk

  • Ah....Clopin.....

  • Dear Dislikers, Look at the red dislike bar. Now look at your penis. See? NO DIFFERENCE.

  • Everday I'm Clopin

  • Okay. Badass in every sense of the word. Also, I now have a singing sadistic jester fetish.

A question, though: Can anyone tell me what kind of accent he has? I've always wondered that . . .

  • @therealcritic28 French and he's not sadistic, just badass in every way.

  • @SlymeGreen

Really? That is not a French accent I have ever heard before . . . And I think he is very sadistic. Towards the people he thinks are his enemies.

  • @therealcritic28 He is voiced by Paul Kandel. And he is only sinister and sadistic in the novel.Paul Kandel (born February 15, 1951) is an American musical theatre actor and tenor singer best known for his work as the Gypsy leader Clopin in the 1996 Disney film The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • @Aserox

Thank you, but I know who the voice actor is. Also, I think it's up to interpretation whether or not the movie Clopin is sadistic.

  • .....ok how is it that the first scene you see clopin in he is kinda a bad ventriloquist, then all of a sudden in this scene you can't see his mouth move at all?! its weird but funny as hell.

  • Fuck Superman! Go Clopin!!

  • Clopin is so perfect.... and he has NO problem hanging people!...

  • Clopin can: Quick change, defy gravity, sing, judge, dance, steal....Is there anything this man can't do? I THINK NOT.

  • @Gleefreak47 he can't die

  • @NapoleonFTW Well played, Napoleon. Well played.

  • @NapoleonFTW ...in the Disney version. And that only because they needed his voice (plus he's not a significant enough character to kill off).

  • clopin is like the disney version of musical chuck norris

  • We find you totally innocent...

Which is the worst crime all...

    ...

    SO YOU'RE GOING TO HANG!

  • "Now that we've seen all the evidence--"

    "Wait! I object!

    "Overruled!"

    "I object!!"

    "QUIET!!!"

    "Dang!"

  • Everyone has a earing XD

  • Why does everyone like clopin but i am not saying i dont XD he sings alot again i dont say that is a bad thing

  • Wait...if your innocent....you are going to hang? Ah, Ok!!!!!

  • i'm obsessed with clopin's legs.

  • @vandersexxxx69 Go to my deviantArt page if you'd like to see those legs in a kilt. ;)

  • Ah the classic tale of how Bethesda lawyers took a wrong turn and walked in tot he court of Mojang

  • Clopin: "There is good Noose around"

Me as a little kid: Huh?

    Years later

Me age 16: OHHHH I GET IT HAHAHAHA!

  • @KawaiiAnime629

    "There's good Noose tonight"

  • @bobbyfrank33 Oh my bad, thanks for correcting me

  • @ 1:05 I alway think clopin is pelvic-thrusting! Love it!

  • Haha, 1:49, Quasi is looking at Clopin with a "Wtf?" expression on his face xD

  • I love pheobus during " I am the Lawyers and Judge ALL IN ONE *BANGBANGBANG* He;s like DO YOU WANNA DIE JACKASS?!

  • I LOVE CLOPN

  • Musical ambushes are so rare these days.

  • @Oregateau

    Ta-dah!!

    *stab stab*

  • @Oregateau Shows you what the world have come to.

  • @Oregateau Nowadays it's sniper this, suicidal goat that...

  • so trying to figure out my favorite character in this movie, clopin or...no, there's only clopin!

  • Wanted: Clopin Trouillefou

Crimes: Acting like a jester, singing at random times, changing his clothes faster than using the toilet, and being hotter beyond belief.

punishment: being locked in my room

  • Dear Clopin, I now have ladyboner, Sincerely, Youre pretty much the only Disney character that I would tap 8U

  • @xkolkolkolx

    You know thats right ;D

  • mmpffhmff hmmf

clopin: thats what they all say -.-

    Rofl

  • Clopin from Hunchback of notra dame, and Genie from Aladdin are the craiziest and funniest characters in Disney

  • "thats what they all say" lol XD

  • I dont remember this part...I havent watched it since like 99 XD

  • It's just not a Disney movie without a good hanging.

  • Anyone else wonder how Clopin change from Clopin to a judge to an executor to a judge to Clopin?

  • @P6LK56 He's freaking awesome, that's how!

  • @P6LK56 Quick Change artist.

  • Fuck gravity, I'm Clopin.

  • I fucking love Clopin

  • I wonder if they practice and sing this song every time someone comes in? Did anyone see Phoebus's face at 1:56 LOL? Is it sad to know this song by heart, and sing it randomly?

  • Am i weird to want Clopin to kidnap me and, well...don't wanna say ;)

  • Ahhh, Clopin.

    Why you so awesome.

  • A plea of innocence is guilt of wasting my time.

  • It's a double header :D

  • I love the witty banter between Quasimodo and Phoebus

  • i love Clopin's sadistic attitude about it. It makes the song more enjoyable

  • i love the song!!! ( and clopin too ^^)

  • 21 people didn't say so....

  • @DCdabest

No, 21 people just don't have good musical taste or a sense of dark humor

  • i always thought clopin said, so you're going to hell!

  • Wouldn't lighting a bunch of torches in a sewer be really stupid.....?

  • Can you people just stop arguing on how the book is related to the movie? It's Disney, of course the changed it. It's STILL a great movie. Get over it.

  • This film has me torn. I can't decide my favourite character from Clopin and Frollo. Same with The Lion King, between Scar and Banzai. :(

  • @BrainEatingMeteor Scar and Clopin all the way

  • when i was little i thought clopin was the badguy cause all i could remember was this scene

  • @jaspergaffney I haven't seen this movie since I was about four... I always thought the same thing.

  • Ok now this song is seriously stuck in my head everyday!!!! XD

  • this the best song ever. I wish I can do this LOL

  • "These men aren't spies, they're our friends."

    "Why didn't they say so?"

    "WE DID SAY SO!"

One of my favorite parts of the film.

  • I remember watching this when we lived in Italy. Seen real gypsies steal cameras right off someones neck but I absolitely love gypsies in the movie. :D

  • Godammit, I want Clopin's hands around my neck. XD God I'm so weird! Looking at him with those black gloves make me think of S&M!!!!! XD

  • Seriously.....how old is Clopin??? I WANT TO KNOW!!!!!! XD I fuckin' love him!!!!!

  • Clopin's voice is so funny!!! I love that guy!!! He's entertaining!!

  • I want to live in the Court of Miracles

  • What does the debate over the writing quality of this movie's character development got to do with a fellow who looks like a jester run and jump all over the place whilst attempting to hang two guys?

To quote the average Youtuber "STFU and enjoy the video!"

  • Best Ravnos movie *ever*. :D

  • Clopin is so dedicated to his craft. He got the gypsies to learn a full musical number in the case of intruders getting into the Court of Miracles.

  • Wha? Where's Pierre Gringoire?? Guess that would make it confusing, that's Esmeralda's husband. She married him, to save his neck from hanging, because he ended up in the Court of Miracles, on accident of course, because yeah..... The original story is SO sad. Esmeralda dies in the end, Phoebus ditches her, to go back to his old fiancee, even though he got her in the mess himself. Quasimodo dies of grief. It's so sad! Djali lives though! Her goat :) That's why I love Pierre!

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap but wasnt it Pierre who stabbed Phoebus when he was with Esmeralda causing Phoebus to think Esmeralda hurt him?

  • @moonlitdremr I don't remember saying that is was Pierre. It was Claude de Frollo, and Phoebus never really loved her anyway. He was jealous, really, and wanted to hold something over her head, either death or marriage really. Pierre did think she was pretty though, and I think he attempted to save her life, but Claude de Frollo got a hold of her, and Pierre decided to save Djali, pretty much, and then became a tragic play-writer, and he was with Djali, because he though her great.

  • @moonlitdremr Actually Claude de Frollo the archdeacon, did it, a good guy in the beginning, but then poor Esmeralda fell under him, and he tried everything to get her, but unfortunately, she chose the man that didn't love her. Frollo died, because Quasimodo threw him off Notre Dame, because he laughed when Esmeralda was hung. Esmeralda was executed, and Quasimodo died of grief, beside her. It was a sad, sweet story. I read the book, and I personally think it's better than this.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap This is Disney...And I'm sure you understand that a Disney adaption is going to be vastly different from the original. On the last Hunchback Of Notre Dame video I watched, you also said something to the affect of complaining about the adaption. I don't mean to offend, you are entitled to your opinion, and I'm sure the book is lovely, but I can't help but wonder why you choose to watch the Disney clips if this version dissapoints you so much...

  • @SubterraneanCitizen1 I was just curious, and I was surprised. I thought, the only thing they were going to change, was her dying in the end. But of course, sigh, they changed so much...... Besides, I don't understand, why they have to redo, a beautiful sad story, into a..... really..... weird.... urm different version. That's all really. I'd rather them leave the classics alone.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap It's Disney, and largely markets itself to children. They take stories, simplify them and sometimes add music and humor, and only the 'bad guys" are allowed to die, excepting parents. This process inevitably means the product will be very different from the original, and I can understand why that would be dissapointing to some. Not to say a Disney version is bad just because it's different, I personally feel this is a great movie in it's own right, if not as an adaption.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap oh my bad im basing what i know off of a french muscial of the story....actually all the girls in my class loved the guy who playes phoebus

  • @moonlitdremr oh k. :)

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap I thought Quasimodo died of starvation, because he never left her corpse.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap Remember, it's Hugo. The man killed the righteous Jean Valjean, the tragic Fantine, and made the horrid Threnardier a prosperous slave trader. Still love Les Miserables, though.

  • @nyuurocks Yeah, it's because he was a good writer, he knew everything. His stories were enchanting and really drew you into his stories, and I think that's what was amazing about the real book. I don't find this movie as enchanting, or emotional, or even such a sweet plot, or such a brilliant piece. I'm sure Victor Hugo would die, if he saw that the only version they knew of his book, was some modified "happy" version. Les Miserables is his best work, and I loved the book, and musical.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap And I agree entirely.

  • @thegirlwhohatesrap well, whatareyaganna do, it is a disney movie.
