Stossels point that these cameras protect is a fallacy. If people are willing to engage in dangerous activities that is an individuals choice, ok, your free to do that. No mater how safe you drive you can be and probably have been in at fault in an accident, then you should be aware of what you have CHOSEN to do. If you don't want trees falling on your head, don't cut them down. If you want to be safe on the roads, stay off of them, it's the only way.

These cameras do not save lives. They only slow traffic down to a crawl in front of them. then the drivers speed right back up. Arizona tickets 11 mph over the speed limit so freeways set at 65 click your "pic" at 76. The problem I have is the money that the businesses that collect don't collect from out of state drivers, plus normal mail is not adequate service by AZ law so they have to "serve you" at your home, adding more costs. It's all BS.

Cameras are not just about making money - though they do make millions - they are also about training people to go about their lives feeling concerned, wary and on edge. People trained to be this way are far more passive and easier to influence.
Speeding in nowhere near as dangerous as government and NGO scaremongers say.
Remember the wild-eye hysteria at the suggestion that the interstate speed limit be raised from 55 to 65? Accidents rate went down.
Scaremongering is a gigantic industry in the US. Please stop buying that product.

what has been proven in Arizona is that yellow light on times have been shortened to increase red light citations. check out RP4409 on youtube.
