This is only half correct. Cracklings aren't just zerglings, but zerglings which have the Adrenal Gland upgrade, which enables them to attack much more quickly. They attack as if they were on crack, hence the name.

Savior did this build against Iris in the MSL (I think) Semi finals. Klazart has that series covered.

SPOILERS about that game and series:

It's in the 5th and deciding game you find this strat.

There Savior succeeds in using hydras against Iris, on a map where Iris had beat him in game one, so this strategy by July is not that bad.

GG. Nice Commentary. Seeing boxer actually win is like OMG! awesome. His dropship play was nice but imagine if he had nuked a couple expansions from above that little cliff above the nat. instead of using tanks :)

the use of swarm was so poor, and hydras front omg, I thought 3 years is not such a big deal but apparently game still evolves...

I just cant wait for SC2 and start discovering new strategies and bugs ^^

agree with you, some scourge would have made a lot of difference against science vessels and drop ships...i just don't get why july didn't build any

but watching the last osl final makes u realize how good july really is and how he managed to advance with the new game trends and strategies (and even revolutionize them himself)

With today's understanding of the strategies, I doubt anyone could lose now to that play of July's. I just don't see the point in getting hydras against almost pure m&m and few tanks since they can't compete against m&m at all.

These old games look less skilled to me. For example check the final force of Boxer. There is only 2 medics for 30 marines....

But I love the dropship play, you dont see that so often used anymore.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure you realized that players do, in fact, get better over time. That, and the fact that new players have watched the current players, and learned their strategies/play and incorporated that into their own play-style.

So it's not unexpected to see sloppiness among the players that played back in the 00-05 time.
