shes definitely one to watch- it was such a shame when she fell on beam at the worlds AA. Shes very graceful, reminds me a bit of Nastia- espacially her floor routine :)
Me too... though she is second overall after the last rotation but really , quite impressive. I am looking at her scores to see what she can improve on in AA to pass Bross who leads by 0.10. Go Ana!

In comparing this to Bross - how could you? Bross has difficulty but that's it... no artistry, no flow at all and gymnastics for too long has been like that without any elegance and artistry until this gymnast brought it back. But I hope Bross does well - i just hope Porgras does better!
Your right. it is personal preference right. Bross has a great UB so I was surprised when her and Ana tied for Bronze in event finals.. I guess i thought that Bross had a higher Difficulty value than Bross but from what I see, I was wrong. So good job Ana and congrats your girl won silver in AA.
Yea. What I was most happy about was Ivana medaling on beam. Ivana is by far my favorite American gymnast at these worlds. It sucked though that Ana fell on beam in EF, especially since she had the best qualification score.
I agree with everything you said! Lately, the winning gymnasts have been all power and no artistry. Ana's movements are incredibly fluid, she makes the sport look beautiful. I hope she continues to do well.

Congratulations to Ana. She won the AA title at the Romanian Nationals this past weekend. She fell on beam (her best piece) but she took the title - i am SO HAPPY with this news.
I was very surprised that she fell on beam, on a relatively simple pass too, but never mind, I am delighted the took the AA. She totally deserved it; she is a beautiful gymnast in every way. She looks taller and more elegant than some of the others, her height(if she is taller) really makes a difference in the aesthetics of her execution of skills, just lovely.
Is she very tall? She does look taller than her fellow team mates who are all out of shape and overweight which is VERY sad. Maybe its her lines that make her look tall or maybe she is tall? I know Sandra Izbasa is tall (well for a gymnast). Diana Chelaru looks tall too. She is a delight to watch in every way.
Ana Porgras is not a tall gymnast! Taking this year's worlds team she is no 3 of 4, meaning Dragoi is the tallest, Tamrjan is second, Porgras third and Chelaru last, she is the smallest.

Yes she always trained in Romania :) It's true she has a style of her own. Anyway she wasn't always like this...watch her 2005 routines (she looks like any other 12 year old gymnast).

Certainly not in her beautiful elegant lines and dance-Eberle was a great gymnast but not in the same artistic league as Ana. Perhaps there is a slight facial resemblance.
No-I am not Romanian but I have loved the Romanian team since childhood. :) I especially loved the team under Adrian Goreac, and Maria Cosma-with their superstars Silivas, Szabo, Agache, Dobre and so many more. I loved their style, and superb gymnastics. :)
She is another one i can watch all day long.. she doesn't have the flow that Porgras has on BB but if you watch her hands and what she does after her skills (her moves after a back tuck) and what she adds onto her routine, you will find her very interesting to watch. She's pretty artistic too, pointed toes, nice lines... very elegant. Pay her a little more attention, she is gonna be something in 6 months time for sure!ceau

Wow, very very nice indeed. Her routine has a wonderful fluidity to it; none of the horrible "jerkiness" you see nowadays. Everything looks finished and complete. Her movements are very "deliberate" if you get me:)

Whoever was calling Ana a crap gymnast needs to be SHOT! or they don't know anything about gymnastics.. this young lady has stolen the hearts of the world at world championships, in fact, i think she got more LOVE than the World champion- Bridget Sloan received.. she definitely got more attention than Sloan and stood out from everyone else without a Gold medal around her neck. We all want Gold for her but she is a Golden Star in our hearts... Our lovely Ana.. Go Ana at Stuttgart in November
She is going to be competing at the Stuttgart Cup (I think I spelt this wrong) in November. Its a competition in Germany. Look on google for more information or international gymnast.

Romania is going to rock the world again, I can FEEL it. I can also feel them wining the 2012 Team Gold at olympics.. i didnt feel this way in 2008 but this time i feel it if Ana stays healthy. DId you see AA. Bross was a point ahead and then her last pass she fell. It sucked.

Hi , yes I watched the AA and Bross fell. I also saw when Porgras fall on BB before Floor so that sucked for me.
At least Bross got on the podium in AA so that was a good effort for her.

She had 6.1 D score here and got a total of 15.400 for this routine. At nationals she presented routines with 6.6 SV (aa) and 6.5 (ef).

There are many more behind her too from Romania - the new generation of gymnasts are back and will rocket Romania back to the top of the podium.
I also like Claudia Voicu who is very elegant and graceful on BB, but this is definitely great dancing on the BB.
