Please be sure that this piece remains here. Mozart inspires, in me, decadence in my not-so-decadent life. Thank you for this eloquent contribution, thank you.
Thanks... my child is playing since half an hour in silence and tranqulidad... I told him that I want to listen a good music from el famous Mozart... He asked me: Am I listen to it, too? :)... and my yellow bird(a kanari) is also listening to it and certainly singing... :)
I'm not the biggest fan of Mozart or of the Classical period of music - I'm more of a 20th century period fan, but there's hardly any musical work that bests this.
the novel "camp of the saints" is about a stupid, childish civilisation who thougt that nothing serious will ever happen again. its called western civilisation. then europa dies. one of the most childish idiots, a great thinker and left wing rebell, now a minister...he stop talking shit..he orders all radio stations to play this one...a good one for the end.
@dialectgirl Thank you for commenting, I appreciate it! david (PS: Check out the other complete requiem I uploaded from my other channel, its awesome as well.)
@anonymRoy I know that your question was rhetorical, but consider yourself a member of a small club of sorts. Then the number of views assumes a different proportion. :) Thanks for writing, I appreciate it. david
@davidhertzberg I guess you've got a point. But still, it is very sad that "my" club is so much smaller than theirs. There is true genius behind this, and I feel sorry for all the people, especially those in my generation (90s), who just don't seem to be able to connect to classical music whatsoever.
@anonymRoy I don't understand why you're upset about such a thing. It's actually a really small proportion of people who CAN listen to this type of music. The fact is, Mozart is "revealed" to you or it isn't. To most people he isn't.
@Kaarle15 Yes, you are correct I believe. In fact I think that it is possible to say this about most composers, from the renaissance up through the 20th century. To appreciate beauty and complexity in an intangible form (sound) is not something everyone can do.
@brizzolato864e I decided that if the title were in English I should have the courtesy of describing the work herein in other languages, given the global audience for masterpieces such as this. Thanks for writing, david
@SuperShepperd Perhaps I should clarify that I use the word "Complete" in order merely to convey that this is not a five minute excerpt but rather the entire performance of what is generally known as Mozart's Requiem even though, as you correctly note, Mozart himself did not live to "complete" his own work. Thank you for writing, david
@SuperShepperd But the parts that Mozart didn't write himself, were the least complex parts that, through Mozarts entire carreer followed the same pattern as they have in his requiem.
@SuperShepperd actually, he did finished it, some days before he died he was at his bed and asked for his requiem, he saw the FINISHED score and cried. you can check it if you want to ;)
@parodycreator25 to be accurate: HE did not finish it. The last bits of the requiem were finished by Mozart's apprentice, who tried to follow Mozart's style as much as possible - in which he succeeded quite well.
@SuperShepperd Well it was mainly done by him and finished by a close disciple, taking in account the style know from his mentor and the say well defined forms of the time, it is a Mozart and Mozartian composition in my mind as much as all the others. I think several piano concertos and operas are at par with this one, my humble and not that knowledgeable opinion. :)
THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOADS OF MOZART AND RAMMSTEIN. MY WIRELESS HEADPHONES ARE FAILING TO TRANSMIT, MUT REMEMEBER THE NOTES BY HEART BY THEIR ORIGINALS. SO THANK YOU!
This Requiem is one of my favorite pieces!!! It's great and it's unbelievable that Mozart didn't get to finish it and so his student had to do this. I can't tell both composers apart!!! His student has done a wonderful job!!!!
I didn't know that Helen Donath sang in this performance. I like very much this soprano, a specialist of Mozart's repertoire. And as usual, Giulini is gigantic. A Tenseness from the very first note to the last.
This is truely a sound edifice withstanding furious climate (I had to add).
