  • Funny, as a result of getting fed up with a rusty sticking noodle I've been riding about with an unattached rear v-brake for the past week or so, and got told off by another cyclist for it on the way home on Friday. I literally never use the back brake, a habit from years back that stems from a childhood belief that proper technique is you should only use the front. Not sure where I got that from. Anyway, I suppose I should hold my hand up as a silly cyclist and get on and fix it.

  • if theres one thing i hate and im a motorcycle rider . is people who jump red lights i seen a little boy knocked over by someone who jumped the light thankfully he was okay but other times it turns out different cheers and keep up the work gaz!

  • Great videos gaz.

  • I see number 6 all the time. What's really annoying is when they're coming right at you in your lane.

  • number 10 was filmed in norbury on that long road

  • The camera mans positioning at 4:00 is making me cringe soo badly I want to scream. We must really talk about blind spots when the man decides to stop in the middle of one, the driver of adl logistics truck is towering high above and bike nestles in by the front wheels with even his head out of view completely, cyclists really do get crushed there. I know you said you spoke to him but geez I still cant bare seeing this.

  • Wobblers are probably better on routes like that where they can learn some sense of balance. Its possible that if he went down into an easier gear and higher cadence that he might not wobble as much. He's be less likely to throw his weight forward into the pedals and wobble off the bars causing the micro-turns.

  • Very well done video!

-#9 is a bit of a peeve of mine, fortunately I don't see it that often. Even though I give people credit for at least having a light on, white lights at the rear makes it seem like their coming towards me.

-#6 drives me crazy. It is especially noticeable during the summer when more people are going against traffic.

-#5 I wish people would realize how dangerous it can be to go through a red, whether your cycling, driving or walking.

  • I preffer riding on one wheel :P

  • silly cyclist no1 probably left his brakes open because of the fender or his brakes are rubbing the wheel.

  • @sfasto1 Having two working brakes is very important, it there are issues with them, then it is best to fix them before continuing your journey.

  • cyclists so silly

  • oh, you also forgot #0: no one uses anti-pollution mask!

  • @wizzra Are they proven to help? I don't see any pedestrians or car drivers using them. Most cars air con systems pull air in from near the front of the car right by the car in fronts exhaust, hence when your in traffic and don't have the re-circulator on or a window open the inside of your car ends up smelling like a petrol station!

  • @SkrzypczykBass yes, well i mean: why cyclist (you too) don't wear anti-pollution mask! They help, yes! When I ride with my mask for a month or two, the filter will be filled with sooo much junk you wouldn't believe it!

and don't forget, even when ur in the car, the air you intake is usually pollution anyway :)

  • this is crazy, not be able to ride on a pavement!

  • @wizzra Oh you can, it's just illegal....

  • @SkrzypczykBass yeah i noticed! but it just too weird of a law :) it is way safer to ride on pedestrian pavement than on the street!

  • @wizzra :-) I actually did get a rather dodgy look off a pavement rider once when walking to the local supermarket with the kids. He came weaving past us on the pavement and I commented (possibly a bit too loudly) "Why not ride on the road like a big boy!"

  • haha decent vid

  • Nothing wrong with wobblers mate. They help to make cycling safer for all of us because they put proper fear into car drivers.

  • @CyclingMikey I agree that wobblers are great. And i even use the technique of wobbling to make drivers aware of me and to make them think i'm not so confident. But i think there is a line between wobbling thats good, and wobbling thats uncontrollable and puts you in danger. Whether this guy was across that line is debatable, i was more using it to point out that if you do have an issue with balance that you think might be a problem, esp when indicating, then practice.

  • Good stuff.

My cyclist made it to 3rd place YAY!

  • Excellent vid Gaz, keep it up.

  • Once again a great vid, I do kind of sympathise with #7 as I would be wobbly too, but thats why I have a flat handle hybrid (I find it more stable). Also #1 as I would have looked like that this morning when my rear brake cable snapped on my way to work. Jumping reds, riding on the wrong side of the road or path is a big bad no-no in my book. Looking forward to your next vid.

  • No 1 should be the cyclist at 4:51. Through a red light on the wrong side of an island so that he could make an illegal right turn !

  • nice video gaz. do you actually call out bad cyclists if/when you catch up with them?

  • @thequan82 i try to with the major ones.

  • That guy in the no.1 position is a bit of a mystery. From the close up of his brakes he's clearly in SPD shoes and possibly shaved like a laydee which would suggest that he's a experienced rider.....

That RLJer that went whizzing through on the ped crossing with the kids deserves to have a plague of PF visits!!

Thank for the new nickname btw :-)

  • @SkrzypczykBass *face palm* i got your twitter name slightly wrong :P should have double checked first. There is no where i can say your name!

The guy in number one was a strong rider. he was holding a good 24mph, i saw no need to overtake him.

  • @gaz545 Hmm, me thinks they may be a player of the Unspoken Game :-D

  • @gaz545 Hmm, me thinks they may be a player of the great Unspoken Game. Have to be careful of those riders.....

  • Thank you so much for making this series. I hope to never end up in one of your videos, although unless you get submissions from the States I doubt I will.

  • Great video as always.

  • I don't really mind rlj cyclists, but with pedestrians in the way it's just disgusting. Especially little kids.

  • Your from London!?

  • @JumpinPakFlash Born and bread.

  • @gaz545 sorry random mood.

  • @gaz545 oh and you spelled bred wrong :P

  • Love the commentary on this episode!

  • @m1mbz Thanks, the only thing i did differently on this, is stand up when i recorded my commentary. It seems to get me more involved with the footage and i don't drone on :)

  • @gaz545 it's always better to stand up when you speak. I always felt like so :)
