Hello I have a brand new airbrush compressor and airbrush gun, just bought it Model TC20 Power1/5 HP, Air Exhaust 1/8"BSP/NPT, Air Delivery 23-25 L/MIN my problem is it keeps turning off after a few seconds. I have never used one before and have only seen tutorials on youtube. I followed instructions on assembly which were vague at best. I did adjust the pressure nozzle. Any suggestions?
Before anyone takes this to heart, this vid is not totaly accurate. Anyone who calls an airbrush a "gun" is not in the art industry, she must do county fair tattoos or spray tans. No real artist would leave any parts (the head cap, the nozzle cap and the crown cap should ALWAYS be taken apart and cleaned) There is nothing on an airbrush called a "cone", it's a nozzle, and I cannot imagine what a person would have to do to an airbrush to EVER crack one, let alone one every couple months! Shame!
IMO you should never put the needle back in the airbrush, tip first. You are almost sure to run the super-fine tip into something, on your way in. A tip with a bur on it will never work right. I always put the needle in blunt end first, from the front, there is no way to damage the tip that way. I've ruined needles this way.
@ProperlyStained - Dang, why didn't I think of that before! It's one of those things I've always seen done the other way and I got in the habit of repeating what I saw. Thanks for the awesome tip!!
thanks for video, the paint does not get pushed forward it get drawn forward by suction, set nozzle by loosening chucking nut dont remove nozzle , nice boobs thanks robin
The "cone" is the NOZZLE! -I take proper care of my tools and have NEVER cracked anything nor bend any needles, you must be molesting your tools if you change nozzles every 3-6 months (i would NEVER let you near my tools)!
Hi, I am into cake decorating and I was convinced to buy an airbrush. Thanks to people like you I am learning to use it. I have a the Airbrush Master G34, I think it is a dual gum but I cannot get the trigger to go backwards. How do you adjust the trigger? How far back or how deep should adjust it?
@Miss75Pretty You do not mention a brand, is it iwata /binks/thayer&chandler/other? -Check ie Badger airbrush co. homepage for all kinds of problem solving and tips on use etc. (badger is my favorite brand)....
hi, first of all nice vid, secondly i have a question, when iam using my gun, most times all the paint is geting blown out of the airbrush gun via the paint cup on top. this causes a horrble mess, what is wrong? how can i prevent it?
I've got to mention something I've just been taught. Iwata don't de-burr the blunt ends of their needles so you have a rough edge to it. Also feed the needle back into the gun from the front not the back that way you don't risk damaging the fine tip.
Heather thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. You explain things really well, better than other videos I've seen. Would love to see more how-to's from you, for example paint, and how to ensure proper viscosity, what brand ect. Also how to practice spraying strokes for beginners. Hope to see more from you hon. :)
gosh i just got my new badger 100 and its kinna different .with the trigger took me bout 2 hours to put back it doesnt have that thing at the end of the trigger and the back ledge is seperate from the needle chuck.its a bitch to put back in.never again.lol
This was a great tutorial...thank you. I just disassembled and cleaned for first time..Problem with one thing, the backlever(little tiny piece) fell out when i took out the pushbutton, and i cant get it back in properly. any ideas on where i can retrieve such instruction? I will try the company again, but haven;t had much luck. Thanks!
ok i have a question i have probly the worst gun but since im not sure if its something i wana do i can use it to see if i would but when i use it the paint woun't come out its black and plastic lol i no
well what paint are you using? Some paints are pretty grainy and once a piece of the pigment or grain gets stuck in the cone it will cause a weird spray pattern and spitting. Once that starts happening pour some alcohol or water and spray that so that it gets the clog out
Also, if your needle starts getting burs and has problems take a piece of sand paper and run it over the needle, if it doesn't work buy a new needle. It's worth it
@sillyheatherb, no offence hun, but you should know more before you post vids or anwer questions. No paint has "grains" in it. Pour some alcohol? Water? What?!? You have to know what medium they are useing before you give any advice on what to "pour" into an airbrush. There is no "testing to see how far a needle goes" The nozzle is set before the needle, period. If you put needles in the way you show, you will ruin them, almost everytime. Sorry, but you misinformed everyone who has seen this.
hi great tips cheers i have a similar airbrush but it is gravity feed and im having trouble that when ever i spray white it goes really granulated and i get alot of over spray its properly reduced and every thing got any tips.
also wat do you think the best methods are for straitening needles??
White has a very low amount of pigmentation, when compared to darker colors. It is hard to see, and therefor takes 2-3 more coats to get the same effect. Try using yellow in place of white. If you NEED it to be white, try using yellow first, then going over it with white to finish up.
