Final Fantasy IX - Zidane Saves Garnet and Eiko

Im currently playing this game with psx couse i never bought it in my ps1, and when I saw this scene with her hugging zidane i was like "YESS!"

Why are people calling Garnet Dagger?! I know you can rename Your characters but If your not playing the Game it would be proper to call them by their original names. (It would break all confusion away from people who never played the game).

@MsNunu46 Its much easier for people to call her dagger because thats the name she goes by almost the whole game.

@MsNunu46 Well [Some spoiler here!] when dagger escapes from the castle with Zidane, she doesn't want to be recognized by other people so she renames herself and chooses "Dagger" as her new name because Zidane was holding a dagger.

@MsNunu46 Have you actually played the game yourself? Because even though her legal name is Garnet and that appears as her name very early on, Dagger is the official default name of the character. Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, Steiner, Freya, Quina, Eiko, Amarant. She renames herself very early in the game. Why would it be wrong to refer to a character by their default name? Some gamers prefer Garnet because it's more obviously feminine I suppose, but the primary name for her is Dagger.

@MsNunu46 True, but because she goes by "Dagger" for pretty much 90% or more of the game, you grow more attached to it. So by default, we always refer to her as Dagger. Plus Dagger seems to fit her more than Garnet to me.

@MsNunu46 Garnet and Dagger are not her real name but u have to do a little side quest in the game to get her real birth name but garnet and dagger fit her more than her real name and i dnt wanna spoil it for anyone who wants to find out.

This scene was the best. But I still don't get why it only affected Garnet, I know cause of the necklace but still? And didn't Eiko have a necklace too(or pendant).

hmm what affect? she lost her voice cause of the pressure after she lost her mom alexandria is ruind and Zidanes gay little brother is taking over the world... allso summoning is kinda new to Garnet Eiko is more hardcore summoner ^^

@ShinRaVII It only affected Dagger due to the trauma, pain, pressure and shock of remembering a fire with a big red eye in the sky, finding out her mom wants to take over the world and having her die soon after she turns good again, having her kingdom being invaded by monsters when she JUST became queen, having your own summons ruin Cleyra and Lindblum, and now witnessing the castle and Alexander being destroyed.

The only thing that happened to Eiko was this, and the Mog thing which was later.

Zidane really is one of the most altruistic FF protagonists, and this was one of my favorite scenes.
