  • That's great, man!

  • What kind of amp are you using?

  • Nice sound!! A little too much delay but its good!

  • Very nice! I was trying to learn this today a little more but I really need a strat to make it sing like you have. Such feeling in your playing, especially when you're soloing. You can tell by the "nasty" face you're making because you're doing nasty things to that guitar in a good way!!!

  • BRAVO!!!

That was outstanding man, from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet, soothing overdrive that melts in your ears, followed by your phenomenal playing. You play with tons of feeling, which is a blast to listen to and watch.

Please, do the world a favor and keep playing. People need to hear your music.

  • I love you :c

  • respect man.

  • what scales are you using to solo?

  • respect.

  • keep it up brotherman!!! that's beautifiul....yeh, i know man...bella's crying in the next room right now too.....remember babies enjoy your music and company..keep it up...soon she'll be singing and playing too..it's inspiring....please see my music....I think I posted "fix you" on piano, ray lamontagne and james taylor's new hymn..happy holidays.....your songwriter friend from marietta ga ....my artist name now is "brown apple" you can by my record on amazon and itunes under shawn m. haney :)

  • That's was awesome man.

  • U made it your own, that 'ish is tight!!

  • Nice job bro. Keep it Up!

  • I love it!!!! check my gravity cover out

  • daaamn, nice solo dude

  • ripped that solo in the end there brother man. well done, sounded beautiful.

  • let me guess. your favourite colour is blue :D

  • Hey where did u get that instrumental? A link?

  • you can still make a beautiful music with a squire.

  • Haha, nice job bro, the sound you were able to get, out of an instrument that I would consider to be rather sub par, is really a testament to your skill as a musician. It's funny how we love our instruments so much no matter what they are.

  • amazing bro what is the delay amps own delay or a pedal ? sorry for my bad english :)

  • Dude.. Amazing. Be proud of that. The reverb is set perfect.

  • BTW, you look like George Benson and play like Robert Cray. It must say something about you and your guitar skills :)

  • Congrats from Brazil. You are the first guitar player here who motived me to comment something. Amazing feeling.

  • @tcalvin what state you from dude?

  • @tbeallday mississippi

  • You can tell this guy loves to play. Watch his face for the last 1 1/2 min. He feels every single note. Amazing cover. I would like to know your setup.. (amp more than guitar) and what effects you might be using. keep playing those blues

  • i absolutely loved this. thank you.

  • this is an inspiration! very good job man!

  • Wow no likes.... Really ? I like people must be mesmerized by the music that they forgot to. Or its not showing up property on my phone awesome dude.

  • although this video isnt very recent, i can honestly say it was a great job.

i hope you're still playing though! great stuff man.

  • Pretty good dude. I liked it. Better then a lot of stuff on youtube for this song

  • Sounds really good man...good job!!! Not only did you play it well, you made it your own!

  • well done (:

  • lose the delay at the beggining:) good playin

  • i have the exact same strat ... same colour too ...great playing btw

  • nice sound and nice feeling , keep it on ;)

  • Time for a better guitar bro. Got the talent, now get the axe!

  • TURN OFF THE TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • take a bow love it!!!!!!!!

  • Best cover ive seen hands down! what scale do you use for your solo

  • Great tone, and I loved that you didn't just copy the song verbatim. Really nice take.

  • i jizzed at 4:01

  • Dude that was fuckin amazing

  • Does anybody hear the cryin' baby at the background?! Man...you have a living cry baby...

By the way nice cover man!!! :)

  • Great job man...the blues run in your veins

  • great cover man,great cover.

  • I dig it man....u can really hear the tubes in the amp tone

  • Nice man you've got some soul

  • That was great to watch/listen to, nice playing, dude. And nice guitar/shirt color coordination.

  • Nice!hendrix inversions and all!!!! GREAT JOB!

  • Awesome cover

  • Sounds great! Squier's are great guitars in the hands of a good guitar player. ;) My only crticism would be to back off the delay/echo. It diminishes your playing (which is really good).

  • the intro is a little different from original but still good and the delay is kinda heavy in the intro imo. but the cover as a whole is very good. good job.

  • Dang..

  • Dude, I can see you want to put your blues/funk face on. Just do it. Lol.

  • Wow nice job dude!!!

  • this sounds unreal, good stuff

  • Posted a video response to share . You made that squire sing man

  • I love this...

  • awesome stuff

  • Hey! nice cover I really appreciate it, dont mind those people who gives you bad comments just do what youre doing, btw did you use tabs or did you improvise with tabs, if you improvised what scales did u use????

  • Too much "delay" but great blues feeling man!!!

  • true blues player right here

  • i think its time to get rid of the beginner guitar..

  • tear it up tcalvin. love it

  • way too many repeats on that delay...kind of drowns out the sound.

  • where did you get the recording of the background part? Without any guitar or vocals?

  • hey man I loveyour cover :-)

  • so good.

  • awesome

  • best cover ive seen

  • loved it =) ...keep it up

  • ...I just had my FIRST electric eargasm...and i loved it!

  • delay overkill.

  • that was great man you really got some good talent

  • where can i learn how to play some gospel stuff at. i play a lot of temporary worship music, but i been getting into gospel a lot lately, i just dont know where to begin.

  • This makes me want to buy a Fender Standard Strat and send it to you, you're too good to be playing on a Squire.

  • Baby crying in the background =) Awesome :P

  • Wow! Super nice playing dude.

  • good one nigga

  • one of the best ive seen

  • nice tone dude, just remove that echo! :P

  • it's good to see a young black guy play guitar. not to come off as a racist or anything. you just don't see too many african americans these days playing/listening to anything besides rap.

  • @12ozElephant * black female guitarist* there are plenty of black people who listen to REAL music. music is so much bigger than race as im certain you know. its a beautiful thing :-) i mean look at dave matthews band. practivally all black. bb king, prince, hendrix, robert johnson, muddy waters the list goes on and on and on.....we dont all listen to souljah boi *yuck* lol

  • @12ozElephant This is true! Don't worry. I also play and I'm not offended.

Btw...I heard the JM3 in there at the end. haha!

  • @12ozElephant yup. i like 90s rap cuz today's sucks. im also a black guitarist and i enjoy rock metal and blues more.

  • @tastybacon101 Hell yeah man. Blues and Metal ftw! :)

  • @12ozElephant to think that they are the ones who pioneered the blues and showed the world what true blues mean

  • Comment removed

  • @12ozElephant i was just thinking the same thing dude. and it seems like african americans have the most feel too.

  • @12ozElephant fuck you

  • Nah, fuck you.

  • that solo at the end was straight beast. the end.

  • thats good, i think im gonna try and learn that

  • hey, great job man. what amp and effects do you use to get that tone please? thanks

  • nice job

  • too much delay

  • your playing is pretty solid. i like the control and dynamics- im not a big fan of the tone though... its tough to get JM signature tone but just listen to him play over and over and over until you can get it as close as possible. You obviously have the skill its just a song you have to feel and youre almost there just needs a bit more.

    Great work

  • good job dude you killed it

  • <3 beautiful.

  • amazing man, im learning it right now

  • awesome. really.

  • My first guitar was a red Squire. Thumbs up for Fender. =P

  • Tht was awesome. good job

  • you play this reall nice

  • God damn man that solo is gorgeous.

  • i like your version :D

  • wow man, nice

  • Awesome man keep in going.

  • lol i want a stratocaster but i think ill just get a squier after seeing this. they r too expensive and you get the same sound

  • @Jjjj187 check out squier classic vibes.

    the 60's especially.

if you have a little more money, check out the squier jv models.

    the 1983 models in particular.

the classic vibes should get you any tone you can possible want when you're not playing stadiums anyway.

the jv models are just rediculous.

wont get that tone outside of custom shops.

  • tcalvin, whoever you are, the only reason you haven't played with John Mayer yet is because he hasn't seen this video. As soon as he sees this, there's no way that he won't let you play with him. You deserve it, bro.

Pee Ess: This is really incredible. Seriously...if I could, I'd come to a concert of yours. I'm just assuming that you have gigs all the time, especially with that kind of talent...

  • Pretty awesome man! Keep it that way ... ;)

  • how is that annoying? wtf like if your gonna post something negative just dont say shit. i think its fuckin great!

  • this is great man!

  • Congratulations, sir! Excellent music; very good taste! Brilliantly performed! Thank you very much!

  • awesome....u are truly talented

  • The baby cries to the rythm. Sounds like harmonica at around 0:40 and 1:01. Genius version, I just didn't like your interpretation of intro. But hey it's your way man.

  • you had some timing problems at some parts but elsewhere it was really really good!

  • @guitardog0 thanks for your honesty

  • @tcalvin ya man just get rid of the reverb. ur a great guitarist. no reverb like that tho plz

  • @tcalvin fuck that dude, that shit was killer for a squier!!

  • @guitardog0 Go to hell !! this dude rocks

  • That delay in the beginning was so awesome. U know way? Cuz I can hear your genius sound again.

  • This is really sweet. I really felt the music :)

  • hey man i have the same amp, what settings to u have it on? thanks great cover!

  • @zeppelin5100 sorry man, no idea. hardly ever use that amp.

  • Almost more important than the instrument... haha THE AMP!!!! Remember that people

  • never thought a squire could sound that good..

  • That's so fucking beautiful. Keep on man. I love it.

  • Thats so fucking beautiful. Keep on man.

  • Imagine what this guy would sound like on a good guitar..

  • Love it love it and this with his sister crying in the background.

wonderful job. Keep on. Greetings from Germany.

  • i know this video is kinda old, but i feel compelled to tell you anyway. this is love.

  • blue

  • wtf?!!!! This is so goood. You're the black john mayer no offense. Damn! I want to play that good. I have seen a lot of covers but none as good as this.

  • Great, only, is that your baby crying next door??XD

Great job, nice guitar, nice blue and nice sound, like an Mexican or American Strat!

  • amazing...

  • You made your Squier sound like an American Standard Strat. Nice feel. Good vibratos on bends. Lol good job man!

  • Wow.

  • Just curious because Im looking to do a cover of this song myself, where did you get that instrumental in the background? I have tried playing the song alone without it adn its just not the same =(

  • keep it up man

  • Great job!!

  • I can not believe a Squier sounds this good.

  • outstanding, I dont wanna hear anyone complain about their squiers or I will refer them to this channel. Very tasty playing man. You have tons and tons of inner tone!!

  • wow that was phenomenal man. such feeling in that solo. only thing i might recommend is turning the echo effect down a tad. when you can play that well just let your playing speak for itself. keep on jammin

  • Awesome!! soulful rendition

  • Stop with the delay bro. You don't have to over mask your sound with effects.
