FEAR doesn't scare you with monsters jumping out of closets. It's mostly based on Japanese horror, which focus on psychological horror. They set up unsettling atmospheres (most of the time) and make you uncomfortable. It's like walking through a dark forest alone.

difference is... fear doesnt kill you.. the little girl never hurts you... in doom you litterally have a beast rip through a locker and try to kill you meaning you have to react... but I dunno different games.. I found Doom 3 scarier personally... as you have to fight without a torch etc whereas in fear you can shoot and use a torch at the same time...
