  • I played this music once when I had a couple of friends over and it freaked them out, they got scared haha.

  • [iminent=dceSzdsRf] fulci fucking lives!!!!!

  • All I remember, is that the music annoyed the piss out of me while watching the movie

  • Didnt even know this was on CD, ive tried looking for some of frizzis scores in the uk and have had no luck.

  • I'm watching this film right now and it's awesome. I keep playing 1:00-3:00 over the parts without a soundtrack lol.

  • what a pink floyd rip off. See 'obscured by clouds'

  • @talhavai You got that right. It still works for the film, though.

  • 1:47-Waltz of death.

  • I'm an aspiring author, and I write a lot of horror, so old school music like this helps put me in the mood for, you know, fucking with other peoples' minds. ^_^

  • Love this score

    So brooding!!

  • I have it and many Giallo soundtracks..I can always sell a burned one..I wouldnt want much..

    Email: Spotfestnation31@yahoo.com

  • Never fails to amaze me how well Fulci could put his minuscule budgets to work. What an amazing soundtrack ... definitely among Frizzi's best work.

  • Love this soundtrack,i was lucky enough to find this on cd for £45 and in mint condition, seen it recently for £200 on amazon!!

  • Probably my favorite horror movie of all time.

Every Halloween I say I am gonna dress up like a crazed priest but I have yet to do it.

    Wikked Sountrack!!!!!!

  • exactly. the grime chs tape brought in horror films. it was darker and the music now of days is garbage. like this movie and phantasm are still unsettling to me.

  • yeah this and zombie flesh eaters were the best films of Fulci IMO, plus, they sure dont make films like this anymore, plus the music in City of The Living Dead and Zombie Flesh Eaters were really good and atmospheric

  • Hi, I'm A Media Studies Student At a College And I Would Appreciate It Very Much If You Took Quick Look at My Teaser Trailer For My New Up Coming Movie... !!

  • What the hell happened to Part 6? It had my favorite parts.

  • best soundtrack ever. pure evil. this movie brings back memories of my childhood!

  • although all this is pretty true, drag me to hell should give us all hope

  • Drag Me To Hell was entertaining but not really all that scary and it wasn't anywhere nearly as good as Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. In order for horror to be great once again CGI will need to be all but completely abandoned and practical mechanical effects will have to be used. The stories will need to revolve around characters we actually give a damn about and there will need to be a much greater emphasis on creepy atmosphere rather than shock alone.

  • good point

Cgi, for the most part, sucks something awful. It is kind of a slap to the face to classic horror/monster movie fans.

  • @TheAltair4

So you didn't enjoy Drag me to Hell?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I did really enjoy it but i just didn't find it to be very scary. A horror film doesn't necessarily have to be scary to be a good film.

  • cgi destroys most of the atmosfear in nowadays horror films. and soundtracks like this you don't get to hear anymore at all.

  • i know, wish they would make movies like this again

  • Horror movies stopped channeling the fear. I think people are too stupid these days to be scared of anything.

  • They just dont make them like this anymore

  • i hear ya partner. Lately I thought all the horror movies made past 1990 were bad but now it seems like the movies made past about 1985 are bad.

  • Back then the focus was on the gore, and not a group of shitty college students lost somewhere.

  • Touche! Spoken like an individual who knows exactly what horror is all about. On that note,The Blow Witch Project is basically a Cannibal Holocaust ripoff anyway. Fulci lives!!!

  • I have this soundtrack on vinyl!!!

  • Hey, if you wouldn't mind I'd love an mp3 copy of the soundtrack!

    Thanks!

  • truly amazing

  • i love track 3 that starts at 7:07

  • Excellent.

  • 615 IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

(or should i say haunted house)

  • Brilliant score to a fantastic cult fave.

  • super film, superbe musique, Fulci au sommet de son art en 1980!

  • on of the best soundtracks

  • American horror film music has nothing on this!

  • Don't fuck with Frizzi!!

  • Right at seven minutes is pure evil, it has to be the scariest music I've ever heard...even beats black metal.

  • WHOA THAT IS GOOD!!!!

  • 1:37 sounds just like Dawn of the deads music...any one else reckon??? and the other part in the film sounds just like the theme from zombi 2..

  • Yes, Frizzi reused his style many times, also in The Beyond.

  • Hey Joorum would you be so cool to burn me a CD of this? I would pay a decent price for it. I've tried like hell to find a copy but the only one I could find was something like $120.00 on Amazon!!!! Never hurts to ask I guess.

  • Right now I don't even have all the tracks on my computer. If I were to recover them, I'd consider sending them via email.

  • Thanks for the response.

  • I have the soundtrack on CD, contact me

  • @melowar78 the fucking soundtrack ran that much?!?! Is the movie itself that damn pricey?

  • @PkmnTrainerElite I'm not sure, I didn't check. I can't say I'm a big fan of the movie or of horror films in general. I just like horror movie soundtracks. Frizzi being one of the best. Horror films don't do much for me. They're more unintentionally comical then they are scary. I just love creepy tunes.

  • @melowar78 Just get Downloadhelper for Firefox .

  • @melowar78

I bit the bullet and just bought the damned thing.

  • I CANT STOP LISTENING TO IT.........

  • Started collecting all fulci films in the last 4 months got a great collection the one that freaked me out was House by the cemetery and zombies 2 wow he is the master but lets get one thing clear the films are crazy mad deranged spooky and really creepy but once you get the fulci bug in you you cant stop watching the master the new york ripper lmfao i did not know to laugh of cry lol gonna watch don't torture duckling soon!! wow the buzz fulci gets is unreal kaz x

  • belle bande original de Frizzi illustrant bien le film!

  • i have this on vhs as the gates of hell, fulci rules

  • Still my favorite of all your OSTs ... btw, completely agree with you on Eli Roth, and if you get a chance, check out Miike's Masters of Horror ep, Imprint. Yeah, Audition put me off of eating oatmeal for an entire month, LOL. Looks exactly like whatever she coughed up into that bowl.

  • joorum you are best i like the musics very much

  • AM going to try and upload some vhs fulci movies here. The channel however will be invite only.

  • The mood the old cameras created plus the sound selection in classic fulci made for some scare movies. Sad how with all of the new high quality movies out. VHS tape horror movies still at least with me create a much better mood. The "crappy" quality still the best.

  • Exactly!

  • @WarriorFootball

you share my sentiments to a T. I always try my hardest to get the original VHS of any movie I get (even though VHS wasn't around until the late 70s and MANY damn good movies were before that time). Either way I still try to get the oldest possible copy of any movie.

  • @baboracus

Thank you, baboracus were are a dying breed of fans that understand the power of mood. Exemplefied in the old Vhs movies of our youth, I have yet to trully experience a movie as I once did in VHS. Technology isn{t always better the old VHS have a charm that only a few can understand.

  • @WarriorFootball

People are too busy being told what to like. Unfortunately I wish i was someone who could be told what to like because then things would sure be easier. Most of the good movies were long before I was born (84). However, it is still crystal clear that their vastly superior to anything back in the last 20 years at least. Having the old films that were used in the drive in theater and projected unto a wallinmy basement would be the best method of video watching but old VHS is boss

  • @WarriorFootball I agree with you. Its sad that nobody else does.

  • Now the movie also is known in germany as

    "Ein Toter hing am Glockenseil",

    "Eine Leich hing am Glockenseil"

    and

    "Ein Kadaver hing am Glockenseil".

  • But do you think the Torture porn flicks are better then the post-Scream self-aware slasher movies?

  • Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd say they are more entertaining than modern slashers.

  • When I first saw this movie, it creeped me out to the point where I had to fast-forward the gory parts of the movie. I vowed never to watch it again after that. a few years afterwards, I saw New York Ripper and gave this and the Beyond a shot. Now I love this movie!

  • It's funny how certain movies just grow on you with time.

  • Do you think the New York Ripper was trashy? i mean it's much more mysgostic then "Ichi The Killer".

  • Yeah, it's pretty tasteless. But I like it because it's so funny and sleazy.

  • Well what about "Ichi The Killer"? do you think "The New York Ripper" was early torture porn before "Hostel" and it's ilk? in fact Eli Roth is a huge fan of "NYR" and had it as an inspiration to his "Hostel" movies/

  • I don't like the term torture porn, it's inaccurate. Besides, Eli Roth is a failure of a director and I don't really care where his inspiration comes from. He never reaches the same level of entertainment value as the filmmakers he looks up to. Just like Tarantino.

I would rank The New York Ripper as more of an extreme giallo rather than a torture porn flick since the "porn" is actually pretty tame and the torture occupies much less screentime than the usual slasher-style quick deaths.

  • I feel that Ichi The Killer is much more extreme than NYR. But Japanese movies usually find more reasonable explanations to the graphic content than Italian movies. It's hardly there for the sheer depravity of the director's mind.

Miike's movies have that certain element of shock to them that prevents the events from becoming unintentionally amusing but instead very disturbing and almost life-changing. The first time I saw Audition, it left a permanent mark on me, something very few films do.

  • As misogynistic as New York Ripper was,i'll have to say Maniac was pretty notorious in that respect.

  • jdr se film ! (L'

  • Great movie. The only thing is that track 2 on this sounds too much like the GEORGE A ROMERO'S - DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) theme.

  • Where can I find these soundtrack's at? Do you have any suggestion's?

  • that's pretty badass

  • me like

  • This is such a great theme.

  • j'adore!!!!!

  • What do yout numbers next to the track listings represent? I know they're times, but times of what?

  • Length of the track, so that people know how much they need to skip in order to listen to their favorite song.

  • I watched this movie when I was 10 had nightmares for a week LOL

  • I always thought the creatures in this movie where possessed by demons or evil spirits, instead of being the typical run of the mill zombies.

  • einfach super!!! würd ich gern kaufen!!

  • man oh man geiler soundtrack !!

der rockt 28 jahre später immer noch !!

  • il secondo brano ricorda molto, ma molto da vicino 'L'alba dei morti viventi' dei Goblin...

  • I just watched this last night. One of my favorites.

  • fatti misteriosi is my absolute favourate

  • °•.°•* Beautiful °•.°•*

Fabio Frizzi is my all-time favorite composer, and this OST is second for me behind The Beyond. It's the best listening to these in bed with the lights out!

Joorum - you're the best! *hugs*

  • Damn,Joorum! You have some of the very best soundtracks on here! Thanks for sharing them with us! :D

  • Glad you like 'em!

  • I agree it's the creepiest of his zombie films, Joorum. I always loved the atmosphere in City. It has this great sense of doom and dread...not too many other movies captured that feel like Fulci did. Where did you find the soundtrack for this? I've been wanting to get it for awhile now.

Have you ever heard Anima Morte before? I recommend checking them out. They're very influenced by scores like this. They only have one album, but it's pretty cool.

  • I might have heard of that band. Not sure. I downloaded this by using BitTorrent. The specific site might be called torrentz(dot)com. Don't take my word for it.

  • LOVE this movie! It remains my favorite Fulci film to this day. Thanks for posting the score, Joorum. I've been meaning to track this down on CD for awhile.

  • This is my third favorite Fulci film after The Beyond and Lizard In a Woman's Skin. CITY is the creepiest one out of all his zombie movies.

  • That track @ 1.04, that is scarey, thats the Father Thomas theme lol I try and think do i just like this era of the horror genre because its nostalgic to me as i used to watch them when i was a kid but no, i STILL think they have the ability to shock and scare even nearly 30 years later, i've said it before but post modern horror doesnt have the ability to shock or scare what so ever, at least they dont scare me personally anyway.

  • Yup, that's the "Fear" part of track 1. As you can see, it's split into 3 sections.

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....

  • Oh, you're welcome! Happy to hear that this upload is appreciated!

  • This is the best day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wohoo!!! I'm a hero!! Hehehe! =)

  • You sure are man. Sorry about this but I'll sit here all day and praise you...I have four days off from work and this is what I do with my time every week. I find music from movies that I just can't live without. so if you got anything else up your sleeve...I'll be waiting.

  • I might just have something. Patience is a virtue!

  • yes, maestro.

  • LMAO!

  • LOVING IT! Saw this on the Big Screen 1981 as THE GATES OF HELL music is so important in HORROR all the greats have a classic score or EERIE sounds(like TEXAS CHAINSAW) Thank you so much for this. Also love the soundtrack to THE BEYOND and that piano theme :)

  • Yes, The Beyond is equally awesome.

  • Is there any way of getting hold of this soundtrack?

  • Try the Torrent sites. That's where I got my soundtracks from. Search "City of the Living Dead soundtrack torrent upload" or something like that on Google. It should work. Good luck!

  • Excellent post.

    Excellent soundtrack.

  • Thanks, Paul!

  • City of the Living Dead is a cool film

    nice soundtrack

  • I think so too.

  • City of the Living Dead is my least-favorite Fulci film. It's as bad as it gets in my opinion, but three things save the picture: the infamous scene, the beauty of Catriona MacColl and the soundtrack.

    Thanks for upn' it, man!

  • Well it's a matter of opinion. You see, I did not enjoy Zombie Flesh Eaters as much as I should have. It was bland and primitive compared to the later films. The Beyond and Lizard In a Woman's Skin are my favorite Fulci films.

  • Yeah, Fulci was more interested in gore.. but anyway he made fine horror films... ZFE is also a movie i didn't quite like... never seen LIZARD..

  • I really liked City, Fulci invokes incredible atmosphere in this film. Years ago I had a girlfriend who actually liked horror films ... we watched it but she made me turn it off after 20 minutes because she found it too scary.

  • Hehe, his films are really something aren't they? :)

  • nice i have this ost split with the beyond

  • I don't have The Beyond :(

  • Beyond is his greatest work in my opinion... pure imagery!

  • I have the Beyond, I'd be glad to copy it for you.

  • Well, I suppose that's alright. But let's put that aside for a second. A lot of people have asked me how to contact with me or send me stuff and I'm still trying to figure that out. I'll let you know once I've come up with a solution.

  • On second thought, do you have MSN?
