I am so sure Gerry & John Lennon have already renewed their friendship. I hope the can influence the CRAP that is being produced on earth ATM. Their's is a dying form. God forbid!!!

Cheers for posting.I still have this Scottish Television "Artery" special gathering dust somewhere on VHS. Kinda sad watching it now as was the recent excellent BBC2 Scotland tribute to him but what a talent and what great music he has left us with.
Film is now a lovely epitaph to a unique, individual talent that loved what he did and despite apparently shrinking away from "celebrity" did not appear to be imbittered by his lack of recognition in his later years. He always seemed to have this serenity about him, almost a shroud of invisibility.
I loved his music, and first heard him back in the 70s when he was a solo artist. I loved Baker Street, The Royal Mile, all of those songs and he truly was a great singer and songwriter. I will miss him. I really did not know he had music in this decade and was still recording, until after his death. I have discovered new music of his now that I love.
"There's something great about the record" says Barbara Dickson about Stuck in the middle with you...... I know, I remade this song with my band, using the band as basic, and adding my voice and other stuff later... But whatever I did, there was just something missing to make it groovy.... And then I realised; it's the clapping! So I put the clapping into the record and the very next day I let it listen to some members of the band; they almost started dancing when the clapping started..
This is actually from 2003 & was produced by Rab Noakes Neon production company for STV's Artery strand.. The full version is available on the @hodgepig007 channel
@Ellgee82 Joe Egan is always unrecognized when people discuss Gerry Rafferty. Together their voices were awesome. Check out "Late Again" to see what I'm talking about. Joe Egan was the original lead singer of Gerry's first band-The Mavericks.
What a lovely (and loving) collection of memories. Many thanks. I had the privilege of meeting Gerry's ex-wife at his funeral; a charming lady who, I think/hope will get comfort from affectionate postings like this.
A voice that was all his own. His music is great and will always be remembered. It would have been great to meet him. I can understand him being a private person and I respect that. I think that is why his music is so good because he sings from the heart. God Bless
Pretty funny. He supposedly doesn't want the lime light but he's wearing that get-up at 1:06!! Funny, love the songs, though!!

My children have been brainwashed with all the songs all their lives. And now they play the music yourself.

Best songwriter ever! Together with Willy De Will. And now they are both gone.

i've been wondering who recorded the song at 04.22 since i 1st heard it in the early 1970s.

I imagine that Billy Connolly's insensitive comment regarding Gerry's appearance only added to Gerry's insecurities...how sad.
