That's why I use one. But now that you mention it, there don't appear to be any long stretches in this piece. It may be that the capo is just to give a more lute-like sound.

How is he reading that. Actual notes or in E so to speak? Does it matter? To some yes! I Like it myself!

In E so to speak eg first string open is read as E. You just read as though the capo is not there.

Exactly, it's a more authentic sound. However, there is nothing wrong with you using a capo if you prefer it.
