Glennjridge- You're welcome. Yes, you do come across nice villages and not so many busy suburbs. Google "Cycling the Erie Canal" and you will see the NY state sponsored tour that I took. All is explained there. A great tour!
thanks for posting this. do you come across some nice villages/busy suburbs with hotels at all along the route? or is it mostly all quiet trails? also, does it ever get confusing, ie the trail ends and you cant find where to pick it up again? from what I understand its not all a consistent path from albany to buffalo. sometimes you have to leave as it ends at a road or something.anyways congrats I envy you, I might do it.
Hi Wwood14! Yes, I ride a 2003 Volae Century and I love it. It is quite stable, smooth and sturdy. I'm over 200 lbs. and had over 10 pounds of gear on the bike. In over 400 miles on this tour alone; all I had was ONE flat! And no, I DON'T work for them. This was my first bent' so I went with a model with a 20 inch front wheel because it's lower and quicker to un-clip from the pedals when riding in the city, or with "loaded" touring. Good Luck. - Partok81

What is the diameter of the main frame tube on your recumbent?? My guess is about 4 inches??

It is about 2 inches. Go to volaerecumbents dot com to see the Volae Century.

Is your recumbent a Volae?? Is it stable enough for a long tour? Smooth, fast?? How do you like your bike??
thanks
Oh, do you like the 26 inch or 20 inch front wheel??
