Most Christians are more concerned with debating *Church* (not Bible) doctrine than spreading the Gospel. Then again, they can't seem to come to a consensus as to what the Gospel even means.
It all depends on your idea of what God is. The most idolatrous notion we can have is to be attached to an idea of what God is. In order to find God you must let go of God. One day, you may awaken to who you are, what is at your core. Name that whatever you wish, it does not matter. When you realize it, you will understand. Peace.

I love that PBS posts full episodes of their docs online, they are always done so well and are interesting even if I have to prior knowledge on the topic.
THANK YOU! I was thinking the same thing.. all this arguing gets SO old. It just goes around and around in circles. Everyone already knows the different views and opinions and has made their decisions. So you people are wasting your time.
i love how these people who know not GOD in spirit try and explain spiritual things.GOD is a spirit and must be worshipped in spirit, that spirit is JESUS CHRIST.given to a person when they become born again.
Hahahaha and I suppose he visited you personally and you have had many chances to chat with it or does one say he or him or her when speaking about a spirit. Come on dude get a life! Jesus did not even exist. If you had done your homework and read about the metaphor Jesus represents you would know that more then a dozen other civilizations have their own Jesus and they were also born on the 25th, died and resuscitated three days after and their mothers were virgins.
You claimed you have historical knowledge, but fail to realize that not only was Jesus not born on the 25th, he wasn't even born in December. The only reason they celebrate this day is because it was the day of the Roman festival Sol Invictus. Because of this, the Roman adopted this day to make it easier on the populace of pagans to convert to Christianity.
You can argue that he was simply a metaphor, but you cannot prove he did not exist, nor can any prove he did.
Pliny the younger spoke of a Jewish King named Jesus. Which is strange, because Jesus was no king. From a Roman perspective, Jesus was an unknown fool, and would of been considered crazy by most Romans. Why a Roman would call him king is a little odd.
Don't forget that for that time period, Jesus was a very popular name.
I think most evidence of Jesus was forged by the Christian church for the next 2000 years to prove his existance. Some evidence has even been proven to be a lie.
all men are capable of lies, but God is not accountable for lies of men. God is Love, and if a religious sect is not unified world wide with the same principles and teachings according to accurate knowledge of the bible, you should really check where they are getting their truth from. God or man?
Do your personal research. Everyone is accountable for their own lives.
Use An accurate bible you will find the truth if you are eagerly seeking.
How ironic that the fear of death of one man on a certain stormy night made him become a devout christian and vow his life to exploiting others fear of death and abusing those poor believers for the rest of his life. And that's how religions are born, in the hands of cowards that misrepresent themselves as saviors and self-ritghteous manipulators.
Honestly the continued assault on religion and religious people by those who FEEL that religion has corrupted the earth fail to see many of it's great accomplishments. Though you may feel that there is nothing good about religion I implore you to consider the American Civil Rights Movement. Read the Taylor Branch series: America in the King Years. Without religion, specifically Christianity the movement has no chance. As well as the contributions of Malcolm X, a Muslim. Religion provides hope!
These people did not do anything that good thinking healthy minds with a good set of moral values could not have done. Please, understand that so much evil has been committed in the name of god and the church and don't come back with non believer atheist never did anything bad? Yes they did, but none ever claimed they were doing bad in the name of atheism. They were bad period. Bad people do bad things, good people do good things, but with religion you can get good people to do bad things.
Remember a guy named Adolf Hitler? He used the Darwinian model of "Survival of the Fittest" to persuede his scientific-leaning population to accept "The Final Solution". Propaganda films were made and shown to bolster his grand idea to kill "unwanteds". But, today, it's real popular to blame religion, and specifically, Christianity for the woes of the world. Funny how Islam is not so much under assault. I'm guessing the Swaggerts had someting to do with this. I am a non-christian observer.
Yes of course we remember the maddest and most cruel tyrant of the last century but how does that differ from the crimes committed by the church also based on scientific evidence they wanted to cover up by saying it was heresy? Christianity is targeted here just because its in the front row due to this video, but rest assured that all religions are equal in their madness and lack of respect of human life. From one non-christian non-religious person to another, may peace be with you!
DO you believe in abortions. Since you talk about respect for human life. Most non-believers believe it is ok to murder babies. I would be intrigued if you believe that it is a disgusting and evil practice.
u cannot take away my right to kill unborn humans. i have the right to life liberty and pursuit of happiness... and my happiness necessitates that i trample over another person's right to life. shutup! it makes perfect sense. i said stfu!
Just to clarify so people don't read this wrong, you do not have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness when it interferes with the rights of another. By the way, Scott Peterson trial pretty much gave an unborn fetus constitutional rights within the United States.
(Remember this is under the assumption that gwho was being sarcastic. If he really does feel that way, same applies, just now more directly.)
Hitler read Nietzsche. That's where he got his ideas from. Social darwinism only further justified his butchering, but did not actually cause it. Similar to this is imperialism in the late 19th century: European powers dominated through ruthless colonization and used social darwinism to justify it all.
Very true. Its encouraging to learn how Malcom X once was the epitome of evil but how he changed his perspective on the world through the knowledge of ALLAH. He once quoted something along the line of..." ITS NOT A DISGRACE TO HAVE ONCE BEEN A CRIMINAL, BUT IT IS A DISGRACE TO REMAIN ONE."
i also think it is interesting that in his mind it was like the more he suffered in this life the more he would be accepted in heaven. He was clearly suffering a self-hating psychosis, i mean he was severly abused frequently as a child it sounded like.
