They made this movie so people would feel sorry for the little Japanese children and hate Americans but the truth is Japan started the war with their treacherous attack on Pearl Harbor and those kids were all being taught to hate the USA (which wants only freedom - for everyone).
this documentary has proven itself to be nonsense. It is chronologically out of sync with history and it's generalizations are grave. It has some extreme pro-american elements wich disturb me. This is not how the second world war played out, germany never had any nuclear weapons. Their programme failed. The manhattan project was created out of fear for germany having these weapons but they never had. It's also weird how they lump all europe together as one united entity during this time.
This video leaves little doubt about Einsteins peaceful nature. Those who comment otherwise must have not watched it. :) He was not invited to participate in the development of the atomic bomb and he risked his own life in trying to prevent it's occurrence. However, i think there is a valid question to be asked that is not about the man. Would it have been better if his discovery had come later in our history? Perhaps it would have! :)
if you see this part from the minute 3:00 you see that they convinced Einstein to write the letter to the president regarding the atomic bomb so they started the fire.
is this Dr. whatever who offere einstein to write a letter to the president was jew? if yes then the judgment is all yours and cheers
7:38 He seems "thrilled" at the fact that he wiped out innocent civilians including babies and children. This man is responsible for millions of deaths.
@Tzimnewman3, the man helped saved millions of live by convincing Japan to surrender without a full-scale invasion. So he saved many lives, including my own because my friends and I were at risk of dying in the invasion. Learn some history. Lazy arm-chair pontificating exposes your naivete.
@Tzimnewman3 Who are these "millions of people" you are talking about? Are you really that bad with numbers or simply ignorant about WWII? You seem to think that the atomic bombs killed more people [millions????!] than the invasion would have?
So you think people like me are simply too "inhumane" to care. Do you have any idea how many lives were saved (from both destruction & misery) by ending the war?
Ignorance about these topics scares me (& leads to repeating history.)
pretty as a picture and dropping a nuclear bomb was his greatest thrill ....what an ass hole he did what he was told to do but was it necessary to say what he said ...that is sick
@Damienf77 No, being violent is not the way the world is meant to be, but it happens. And the real reason they should be praised as heros is because of the fact they had to rebel against human nature and lose so much to keep others safe from insanity and more violence.
@Damienf77 Really? Brainwashed? I hardly agree. Think about this: killing other humans goes against most people's instincts. Soldiers don't enjoy killing, really. The reason other soldiers have to see people as targets is to preserve their sanity, for if one were to think about the actual people, they would be driven insane by guilt. As the grandson of a Vietnam War veteran, who told me this view, and the son of a soldier, I am saddened that you think soldiers are brainwashed. They are not.
that stupid ass hole that said that was his greatest thirll, stupid ass in his shoulders lies billions of people that he killed and the rest of the fuking goverment tha did that.
It is good because it makes me proud to be a human beings, and allows me to marvel at humanity's intellectual achievements.
It is bad because unfortunately people like Stalin, Hitler, and many more of lesser, however ever-present evil are - however incredibly - part of the same species.
Einstein cannot blame himself for that letter about the atom bomb, someone would have eventually figured it out and it would have been used. If they haven't seen what devastating effects it had back then, they might have used it more recently and wiped out far more developed nations. It happened like that for a reason.
I can understand Einstein not brushing his hair, but wouldn't his publicity managers want to comb his hair before a speech? Or was his messy hair simply too iconic of him?
To split the uranium atom, and not use it as a weapon is to create gunpowder and not use it for fireworks. Very simple yet cruel and catastrophic analogy, and even worse, that millions had to experience this cruelty... If war was avoidable, then these devices of mass destruction would be worthless. I blame man just as I blame his curiosity for malevolent technology.
scientists working on the manhattan project put together a petition for president truman, not to use the atomic bomb on people, robert oppenheimer featured here, intervened by telling them they were overstepping their role as scientists.
late in life mcgeorge bundy wrote about 4 reasons for using the bomb on japan. none of them had anything to do with "saving lives".
@tomitstube what about Operation Olympic, triple the amount of Allied forces were to be used to infiltrate mainland Japan. Predicted allied losses would have exceeded 250,000 or more. The whole purpose of the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima were to bring the Japanese to a halt, and save allied lives.
@MikeyRGuitar Well, now that the gov has nukes, they don't really need soldiers.. .but maybe it would show them that war is not what the people want...
@iDoCPA it's more to do with how the military industrial complex works. Banks create debt by allowing countries to take out loans to buy guns, they then do their best to keep the countries around the world in debt because it's not fascism or a police state that controls people. It's debt. If everyone refused to go to war there would be no guns and no debt.
@MikeyRGuitar it works in theory but can never work in practice, even in nature animals kill each other, or try to dominate over each other. Humans exploit each other through the financial system, or do dishonest things, if you exploit me financially and I'm not a conman myself, then I will instantly have the desire to physically punish you, beat you up or kill you.. the point is that the best way to avoid wars is to be prepared for one, that is the real purpose of nuclear weapons
@VERGIS92 the best way to avoid war is to prepare for it.... and you physically threatened me in the same paragraph. Maybe you're not as smart as you think.
@VERGIS92 Yes, it's a proven fact that nuclear weapons have saved far more lives than they have killed, so Einstein should be proud after all. Imagine a world without nukes, what happens? people just fight with guns, fire and other things resulting in 1000s of deaths. With nukes there's ultimate balance, and no one dies because both sides know there will be no winners and losers from a possible nuclear war.
@VERGIS92 ~ except, your belief in why we killed a quarter million japanese civilians by nuclear bombs is false. that rationale came later. the reason (japanese would not surrender) is a lie, just like the communist scare in the 50's, and the bay of tonkin attack in vietnam.
today we have 10 million tons of depleted uranium waste from trillions spent on nuclear weapons and energy, that waste has a half life of 4.5 billion years. we now use that radioactive material in conventional bombs.
@MikeyRGuitar if everyone refused to be criminal there would be no more jails. what's your point? neither will ever happen please spend your time thinking useful things we are only but humans
@BombadilTheBadass such an ignorant thing to say, I was referencing a statement by Einstein about soldiers who stand in rank. Trying to sensor what I think, who are you to say what I think. Get a life.
@BombadilTheBadass I can think logically just fine, I've got 2 degrees working on a masters in geophysics. You are a sad excuse for a human, insulting people to make yourself feel better. Is it narcissism or just a plain old insecurity complex that makes you such a bad person?
@MikeyRGuitar two degrees huh? that's nothing compared to my five Ph.Ds. your scholastic credentials have absolutely nothing to do with the ability to think logically there are plenty of religious scientists out there. maybe you could counter with an actual point?
@BombadilTheBadass you're a joke buddy. The fact of the matter is you insulted me so I could not care less about anything you say, you're a sad excuse for human being trying to make others feel worse about themselves. Straight up, you're pathetic. I'm not getting into a debate with someone not worth the dirt on my shoes.
@MikeyRGuitar look back man.. my first comment was 'please try to think logically' and you countered with something irrelevant and told me to get a life. getting angry at your problems and not facing them doesn't solve anything
@BombadilTheBadass now your're backtracking. My problem is not to think logically, no one has ever told me that. I didn't get a doctors recommendation to get into grad school based on my thesis because I can't think logically. You're just trying to make yourself feel superior because of inadequacies in your own life, claiming you know how the entirety of my thought processes work based on one sentence is infantile.

Free energy has been here for a while ,But the Big corporations spend millions to ensure that information does not spread to the masses,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,Let the revolution begin!
@trakomako I agree. It doesn't take a high level of education to pull a trigger. They think they're being brave and heroic but the truth is they are murdering people with families and hopes and dreams just like themselves. Look how many innocent people get killed in these wars. I'm sick of seeing pictures of children with their limbs blown off and photos of kids signing their name on bombs that will be dropped on other people. We need to treat life as something sacred.
@trakomako It's just that it has been purposely set up this way by a handful of greedy people that pass the torch to the next generation of power mongers. The majority of people would not support war at all if they were not told to by those in power. What if people were trained in diplomacy instead of how to kill? We are not like other animals in that we have the ability to reason things out. Imagine how different the world would be if nobody on earth was ever taught that war is the answer.
@jimmyti9cer No doubt... how messed up must someone be to get a thrill from dropping a nuclear bomb on other human beings? Soldiers are brainwashed to not see them as people but as targets, and then they come home and are praised as heroes. This is not the way the world is meant to be.
@Damienf77 I served in the military my self. I agree with you on the brain wash part, but I disagree on everything else. No one know how the world is supposed to be. Not you, not me, not anyone in the world, but God. If the world were perfect, we wouldn't need an army, but because there is evil in the world we need it as much as we need police. So yeah, if the world was a happy place with good people everywere I would agree with you, but I have to disagree.
Is there not a contradiction in your pointing out that no one knows how the world is supposed to be, and then going on to assert that authoritarian violence is necessary to stem evil?
If the problem is that people aren't good, how does giving some of them the privilege of violent behavior alleviate the initial problem? Isn't that just a form of elitism?
@Damienf77 And yeah, someone MUST be messed up to thrill from people being killed by a nuclear bomb, but I guess his thrill wasn't because of the death of the people, but by the amazing power of matter.
@Damienf77 It's not that simple. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was thought as completely necessary to make the Japanese surrender, and to end the war. We can argue for days and days now after all these years wether they could have done something else to provoke the Japanese to surrender or not, but it's easier to look outside the box, than be inside it like the Americans were. And don't be so naive and say soldiers are brainwashed, cause they often see things clearer than you and me.
@DonQuixotec You make a valid argument here. Soldiers probably see things that we won't, and perhaps there could've been something else to end the war. But...using an atomic bomb paves the way for other nations to potentially create their own atomic weapon...which we have seen today.
@ChainStar I agree, but after USA used the weapon, it hasn't been used after in war. The International Court of Justice has called for that use of these weapons would violate various articles of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, the Hague Conventions, the UN Charter, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
But that doesn't mean we must destroy them, some countries have to have them, in case someone breaks that peace. It would be dangerous just to get rid of them.
@Damienf77 most soldiers come home broken because of what they did/ saw. There are few if any who like to kill. The nuclear bomb saved more lives then it took. A tragic paradox....
@JRayMalcolm How the hell can you know that? Like everybody else on this planet, you don't know what would have happened because you cant go back in time, stop the bombs from being thrown, and then see if less people would have died...
Don't you think it would have been smarter to simply show the Japanese that there is such a bomb, they surely would have been wise enough to end the war, to prevent hundreds of thousands of casualties!
@Timmyyyyyyy Iwo jima. The Japanese wouldn't surrender and an assault on the mainland would leave millions dead. If you drop the bombs in the water of the coast they wouldn't surrender either because 1. they wouldn't understand the power (they didn't after the fire bombing which killed more) 2. we only had 2 so plan B would be millions of deaths.
They needed someone fucked up to drop the bomb and thats exactly what they got

@Timmyyyyyyy Iwo jima. The Japanese wouldn't surrender and an assault on the mainland would leave millions dead. If you drop the bombs in the water of the coast they wouldn't surrender either because 1. they wouldn't understand the power (they didn't after the fire bombing which killed more) 2. we only had 2 so plan B would be millions of deaths.

@beastinblack The mind of a fascist is nature.
