this documentary has proven itself to be nonsense. It is chronologically out of sync with history and it's generalizations are grave. It has some extreme pro-american elements wich disturb me. This is not how the second world war played out, germany never had any nuclear weapons. Their programme failed. The manhattan project was created out of fear for germany having these weapons but they never had. It's also weird how they lump all europe together as one united entity during this time.

This video leaves little doubt about Einsteins peaceful nature. Those who comment otherwise must have not watched it. :) He was not invited to participate in the development of the atomic bomb and he risked his own life in trying to prevent it's occurrence. However, i think there is a valid question to be asked that is not about the man. Would it have been better if his discovery had come later in our history? Perhaps it would have! :)

Einstein cannot blame himself for that letter about the atom bomb, someone would have eventually figured it out and it would have been used. If they haven't seen what devastating effects it had back then, they might have used it more recently and wiped out far more developed nations. It happened like that for a reason.

Banks create debt by allowing countries to take out loans to buy guns, they then do their best to keep the countries around the world in debt because it's not fascism or a police state that controls people. It's debt. If everyone refused to go to war there would be no guns and no debt.

@Damienf77 It's not that simple. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was thought as completely necessary to make the Japanese surrender, and to end the war. We can argue for days and days now after all these years wether they could have done something else to provoke the Japanese to surrender or not, but it's easier to look outside the box, than be inside it like the Americans were. And don't be so naive and say soldiers are brainwashed, cause they often see things clearer than you and me.

@ChainStar I agree, but after USA used the weapon, it hasn't been used after in war. The International Court of Justice has called for that use of these weapons would violate various articles of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, the Hague Conventions, the UN Charter, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

But that doesn't mean we must destroy them, some countries have to have them, in case someone breaks that peace. It would be dangerous just to get rid of them.
