This is a beautiful record,that l have never heard in 35 years of enjoying the music..One of these late 20s early 30s records was issued in America,and the Americans thought was an unknown Bix recording for many years.
Norman Payne is just a brilliant trumpet player who must have been also strongly influenced by Chelsea Quealey.
Max Goldberg wrote a letter to the Home Office to get Ahola banned (which he was) Jack Plant is not up to much..Spike Hughes Decca records are the finest made in Europe

The tune is from 1917 and the sheet music turns up frequently on ebay...
