Windows XP - How to Have a Movie as your desktop

BSplayer works fine for me ... open a video .. pres D on the keyboard and thats it :)

dont even have to adjust any settings

or just make a .html file, make a full screen video on it, and set it as your background (cant set HTML as wallpaper in Vista/7) :(

Right click on an empty space on your desktop ->Arrange Icons By -> Auto Arrange.

I have VLC, but its not in my program section or anything. It only pops up when im watching a movie/video. So i dont have the Settings and all.. I figured out how to get it to be my wallpaper/background, but i dont want that title to be on the bottom. I also don't know how to save the video.. Is there any way that i can save the video as a picture form? Then set it as my background?? I NEED HELP!! just message me on youtube.

I think they upgraded from a Wx (open source) to Qt (non-open source) interface. Try the Qt option. Let me know if that works and I will add the annotation.

hey intrepidman, i've tried ur tutorial but it seems that its not working for my desktop. The video just doesnt pop up in the background. Any suggestions? Btw, I'm using the VLC v.1.0.3 which i guess would be the latest version.

I used cam studio to record this. For some reason it didn't record the movie desktop...

I don't use Vista any more, got really tired of it. I rebuilt my laptop with XP and 7.

I built my laptop to XP too. I know Vista and 7 can do this, cool that XP can too.

Personally, I wouldn't. I tweak my machine for performance so this is not on my list. Though cool.

I put a 500g, 7200RPM 16M cache HD, and 4 G of ram in my laptop.

I think the ram is buggy, though. It ran fine for 2 weeks, then started crashing constantly, until I pulled 1 of the chips out.

Gonna have to take em back when I get home.
