  • is this dcc

  • @jmsschooner It is now. Came as DCC ready, so a case of fitting the decoder. Cheers.

  • @ay76 What's DCC? Is it when the loco makes sound as it runs?

  • @TheRyanCarMan Stands for Digital Command Control. Visit Hornby's website (DCC section) for more details, or google DCC. Basics of DCC is that the track has constent power, & each loco is fitted with a chip (decoder). The controller (command unit) sends digital signals to the loco, which in turn instructs the loco what speed to drive at, what functions such as lights & sound to work. The loco's you see with sound are fitted with a sound decoder.

  • @ay76 So basically you could have two trains on the same track going at different speeds?

  • @TheRyanCarMan Well as many as the controller (or sometimes known as the command unit) can power, or depends on how much power the trains are drawing power wise. I've had about 8 going on the same track at the same time, at different speeds etc.

  • How many trains do you have???? its something i havw always wanted to know?

  • The only thing i've yet to fit is the buffer beam detail parts (pipes) & the cylinder exhaust pipes (not sure what the correct term for them is) Cheers.

  • hi its AMG4472

got your comment back . cool

  • Cheers :-)

  • i wanna take a look at the limited edition flying scot which got flags on its buffer beams

  • a very nice model!

  • Thank you.I think Hattons may still have some in stock. If they have well worth treating your self to one.Cheers.

  • i'll have a look! is there an N gauge one available?

  • There has been one done, but I don't know if it's still current or available. May be a case of trawling the old net to find one.Cheers.

  • it's not in the currant grafar catalogue. they should make a model of Tornado!

  • May be a case of Ebay or visiting one of the Toy & train fairs I reckon. Tornado would be great.I know there has been a "OO" model of it already done. Not cheap at around £250 each!! Nice model though. Cheers.

  • yes, i've seen an advert of it! it's in it's grey livery though and i like it's apple green livery!

  • I belive Bachmann are making Tornado in her Apple Green livery, now all we need is A2 Blue Peter to be released in Apple Green to have an A1, A2 and A3 Apple Green line up in OO gauge.

  • Yes that's correct on the Tornado model. i have it on order. Cheers.

  • The Pacific built classes are my favorite british steam engines. Actually about every Steamer that has come from Doncaster i like. Does anyone know where i can find a model of the Scotman or the Mallard in HO scale?

  • Cool.I'll have a look through my ref material to see if any have been done in HO scale.Cheers.
