@riseagainst11000 Atmosfear does have nearly 200 feet against this but Acrophobia is different because you're not sitting in a seat. You're straddling, in a standing position, AND the seats tilt you out forward.

i was on it with my mom and she was TERRIFIED! when we got to the top her eyes were closed, and i said, mom look dads waving! she opened her eyes and started crying. when we dropped, i was laughing and she was screaming bloody murder. it was hilarious

I rode this ONCE when I was like 11...I've been to the park maybe 2 or three times since then, and haven't gotten back on it. I'm 19 now, let's see if I'll try it again Saturday!

OMG, I got on this ride... My friend dragged me on it! I didnt think it would drop that fast! It was fun but horrifying! I want to get on it again but when I get a chance too I punk out lol...

the song sounds like u would hear it in a horror movie, that and when they're singing it they spin u around then.........DROP! to be honest i wouldn't get on it but at the same time i think it looks like a slow drop
@TheMayashayne It hits 60 mph from 160 feet in the air. All those tower rides don't look at scary as they really are. It's hard to tell just how high up you are when looking from the ground.
yeah this ride i scary. what makes it different from other freefall ides like it is that this one tilts the seats when u get to the top, so it literally does feel like you're standing up and jumping off of a 21 story building (its 210 ft tall btw)!!
- I've rode this ride four times and its STILL scary and/or fun ! I love this ride , because even though they sing the song , you never know when you're going to drop ! its one of the best ones because you're like tilting forward which add the thrill to the ride . ! 5 stars! :)
@EkleticoUSA Actually the only other rides like this are in Europe. Apocolypse at Drayton Manor has a side that offers similar seating and tilting and at Movie World in Germany there's a tower ride identical to this. No other Six Flags offers this type of gyro drop experience.

@powers86rule Yeah the seats tilt forward 15 degrees. Nothing scarier than dangling 200 feet and having your body weight completely held against the restraint!
@3t3rn4ldr34m1ng I guess it's a personal opinion, although I will tell you it's the only thrill ride I've ever been on that truly scared the hell out of me. You're straddling basically a bicycle seat which tilts forward at the top of the ride so your full body weight is pushed against the restraint. While it's not the tallest drop tower, the overall psychological experience makes up for it

@Droctogonpus The Great Gasp was built in 1976 and was taken down in 2006 to make way for Goliath. The great Gasp was actually taller than Acrophobia and it had little seats for passengers. It simply went up, paused, then came down slowly, basically just a ride to enjoy the view. Before Acrophobia there was a ride called the Six Flags Air Racer which stood where Acrophobia is now. It had several planes that passengers sat in and spun around in the air on cables.
This ride was great. It was my first ever ride. So it scared the hell out off me. But after I dis it that once I did it more and more. I almost pissed myself everytime tho.

OMG, I got on this ride... My friend dragged me on it! I didnt think it would drop that fast! It was fun but horrifying! I want to get on it again but when I get a chance too I punk out lol...

oh my god....I remember the first time I went on this thing the guy operating it was like "Hey....its not releasing....what the....stupid button is stuck..oh i was hitting the unlock button *hits the drop button* Bye bye" me: oh my god...just so not cool...*cling*..... then there was ring around the rosie...and so many others ugh you hear a lot when you ride this ride at least 40 or more times..

the song sounds like u would hear it in a horror movie, that and when they're singing it they spin u around then.........DROP! to be honest i wouldn't get on it but at the same time i think it looks like a slow drop

@TheMayashayne It hits 60 mph from 160 feet in the air. All those tower rides don't look at scary as they really are. It's hard to tell just how high up you are when looking from the ground.

yeah this ride i scary. what makes it different from other freefall ides like it is that this one tilts the seats when u get to the top, so it literally does feel like you're standing up and jumping off of a 21 story building (its 210 ft tall btw)!!

- I've rode this ride four times and its STILL scary and/or fun ! I love this ride , because even though they sing the song , you never know when you're going to drop ! its one of the best ones because you're like tilting forward which add the thrill to the ride . ! 5 stars! :)

@EkleticoUSA Actually the only other rides like this are in Europe. Apocolypse at Drayton Manor has a side that offers similar seating and tilting and at Movie World in Germany there's a tower ride identical to this. No other Six Flags offers this type of gyro drop experience.

@3t3rn4ldr34m1ng I guess it's a personal opinion, although I will tell you it's the only thrill ride I've ever been on that truly scared the hell out of me. You're straddling basically a bicycle seat which tilts forward at the top of the ride so your full body weight is pushed against the restraint. While it's not the tallest drop tower, the overall psychological experience makes up for it

@PepperZ11 Man you aint the only one. I love scary rides but i almost pissed on myself when the seats tilted forward. Its like insult to injury for people who never rode it before. You're up so high and you're trying not to look at the ground but you have no choice lol

@lawton80 Actually, before Acrophobia, there was a ride like it (Not as high up) Called "The Great Gasp," but I can't remember when it was built.

@Droctogonpus The Great Gasp was built in 1976 and was taken down in 2006 to make way for Goliath. The great Gasp was actually taller than Acrophobia and it had little seats for passengers. It simply went up, paused, then came down slowly, basically just a ride to enjoy the view. Before Acrophobia there was a ride called the Six Flags Air Racer which stood where Acrophobia is now. It had several planes that passengers sat in and spun around in the air on cables.

I like it when the operators pretend that there is a problem and play sound effects that sound like everything's coming apart just before dropping you. Othertimes they fake out a count-down and drop you on the first number,

OMG when i rode this I was literally crying going up..my friend was singing WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER..I was still crying when we got to the top I was like HEY GUYS I CAN SEE THE SUPERMAN...while i was talking we dropped...I was gasping for air..the drop feels like its never gonna end..
