The Confederate Army of Tennessee was poorly led. If only it had a commanding general of the caliber of Lee. Instead they had Bragg, who never capitalized on his successes, Johnston who was a little too cautious and Hood who would eventually destroy the army.
Hood was beaten by his old mentor, George H. Thomas. It's like the first duel of Obi-Wan and Vader all over again... in a more military sense!
