  • You call that high speed?

  • UNK was a coal train

  • It was actually stone. I didn't catch the symbol.

  • okay.

  • Awesome stuff! Great video. 5*

  • The first train going onto the Bayard Branch has got to be the only one on youtube. Awesome video and thanks again for the info about that track section.

  • No problem.

My camcorder was off angle for that train, because I thought it was going to take the connections, but instead, it just continued straight through the diamonds, much to my surprise.

  • How many trains an Hour usually go through Alliance?

  • On average, I'd say about 2 or 3. There are roughly 60-70 trains per day through the Alliance interlocking.

  • Awesome! Thanks

  • Hmmm, this belong for a dvd video or regular video belong to youtube?

  • It is footage I got. It is currently not on DVD. But I can put it together onto a DVD and give it to you if you'd like. :)

  • Oh, I see! I understand that..

And, of course I like it! So, maybe I can find were your video as you give it me :)

  • I meant, you will give it to me so for sure!

Because, of course I love NS/CR fully 100% ever lol!

  • Yes I would. Full length DVD's, I sell for $10. You can purchase one if you'd like. The footage in this video alone will probably not add up to even 10 minutes though, so I am not sure that just this footage would be worth it.

  • Hmmm, just check your message please thanks! :)

  • Yeah, definatly a great horn on that gevo! I've heard them on Dash 9's before. btw, another great video. 5*

  • It was the last thing I was expecting to hear from a GEVO. Before I could read the engine number or see the radiators (how I identify GEVO's), I thought it was a Dash 9. They don't call engine numbers on NS here in NE Ohio.

  • They don't do it here in VA either. NS is always good to re-use horns and stick em on widecab GE's. It certainly adds alot to the video.

  • Or, watch see on NS's bogeys like CW40-8's, CW40-9's, and SD70M-2's bogeys! :D

  • How in the BLUE HELL did a Nathan P5 end up on an NS GEVO?That's weird. For a minute I was just thinking it was an oddly tune K5HL!

  • Awesome! I saw one CSX train in there...5*****!

  • kool keep me posted and hey u kno0w come to Lafayette here my friend there is some hot spots here

  • I'd like to go to Lafayette sometime. :)

  • NS IS ALSO RUNS IF U ARE EVER IN THE pITTSBURGH AREA WHICH I WILL BE DURING THE STEELERS HOME GAMES I AT CONWAY YARD WEST OF DOWNTOWN AND WATCH SOME OF ns other coal trains such as NS 550/551 OR NS 554/555 THESE TRAINS ARE FROM THE MON LINE TO EITHER TOLEDO EDSION AT oAK HARBOR WHICH IS 30 MILES EAST OF TOLEDO OR DETROIT EDSION TRAIN AT MONROE BETWEEN TOLEDO AND DETROIT SO COME OUT HERE TOWADRS w pa my friend

  • I have been to Conway numerous times (never in the yard), along with Leetsdale, Ambridge and Rochester. Interesting and busy place. This weekend (8/24) I should be at Durand, MI

  • I HEARD THE SAME TO I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH SCOTT LINDSAY WHO COVERS ns in the Ohio & Indiana area and told me that the 2 pairs of coal trains are symbol in the 400 series i think it 426 and 427 these coal trains leave in Willamson, WVA TO Meadville, Pa whick a local outs of lordstown take to meadeville

  • Up on the WNYP east of Meadville, I know the NS coal trains also run under the symbols 532, 533, 523 and 524, or something like that. I believe 532 and 533 turn south at Binghamton, NY on the CP former D&H line and start heading for Scranton and points south.

  • 24R AND 23 R RUNS ON WEIRD DAYS OF THE WEEK AND NOW THAT I LIVE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF cOLUMBUS AND WORK ON THE NORTH SIDE 24 R RUNS AS FAR AS Harrisburg it runs here out of columbus on tuesday& thursday and some times it runs as i4r on a friday nite when i was in alliance last weekend they leave here @6pm from NS WATKINS YARD ON THE FORMER NW LINE TOWARDS NORFOLK.

  • I personally have never seen either the 23R or 24R. I think 23R runs on Wednesday only, maybe Tuesday or Thursday (not sure), and it passes through Alliance at about 6 or 7 in the morning. I also wish that they would bring the C01 back, I'd like to chase it up to Lordstown. I have heard coal trains still run up there on occasion, but I have also heard that the line has been discontinued.

  • i was on the phone with the Pittsburgh Dispatchers office and i know some people there and c40 does run on a as need basis because there a a pair of trains that runs between Conway Yard and Buckeye yard in Columbus trust me i grew up in Canton-Aliiance area all of my life.

  • I am not denying you, I just am unsure. I grew up in Ravenna, and lived there for 11 years, and now live in southern Akron. :) Also, the trains between Conway and Buckeye in Columbus are 12V, 13V, 14V and 15V, along with 24R - if you count that, as it is a container train, and operates further east than Conway.

  • CSX I'M ORINGALLY FROM ne ohio the local from Canton runs suday-thursday nites the go to the bayard branch and to new galilee, pa and aslo a local from conway to Canton is call C40 THAT RUNS ON FRIDAY AND SAT NITES

  • Yes, and there used to be a local C01 that ran from Canton to Lordstown, but it has since been canceled, as the Lordstown Line has been discontinued. I am not so sure C40 operates anymore either. I may have to ask my engineer friend, Dave Mangold, about this.

  • I love the P-5 on the Gevo. they should put them on every one

  • I know. I was confused at first when I heard that. I was not aware that any GEVO unit had a Nathan P5.

  • Wait, NS still uses the line behind the Amtrak Station?

  • Yes, and they are especially using it now to reroute trains around the bridge construction in Beaver Falls, PA. Daily trains that go down it are NS 416 and 417. NS C45, a local from Canton, using it a couple times weekly. The 416/417 go to the Ohio Valley in Captina Jct for loading and unloading. They are coal trains.

  • Was that a warbonnet on that second unit in Sebring?

  • Yes, and if I knew it was going to be on the train, I would've given a better angle. It was a grungy unit, BNSF number 521.

  • cool!
