  • so is that copper wire , what kind and what kind of magnet is needed?

  • @junior1984able yes, it is copper wire. I don't remember exactly what magnet was used but some kind of neodymium magnet, as it needs to be quite strong.

  • is the wire used a copper wire

  • this design is rather cool! i have to make one to for school soi defentaly will be sharing the secret with my group

  • LOL

  • is it possible to power a small toy car with a homopolar motor?

  • I guess it is theoretically possible. Though I'm afraid the torque produced wouldn't be enough to compensate for the weight of the battery (and car). Atleast you would need a much stronger magnet, which again probably would add more weight. It would be a cool and nerdy toy though =D

  • @rodmylon hhhh...NO ! you need a lithium battery..and pyeeeeww !!! ;D

  • @rodmylon the answer to that relies therein the use of rare earth magnets which are light as dimes and powerful as hell

  • It was a project in school. To build a "motor" out of a battery, a magnet and some wire. We found some explanations of this implementation on the net...

  • Thats what I had to do. But I used a solenoid wire. It spun really quickly.

  • where you get the idea

  • I guess we got some influence from other videos and websites, and then made it into our own design, with some modifications. It's a long time ago, I don't remember so well anymore...

  • @littleteddy9 i got it in my science book but i made a magnet to pik up paper clips im 5th grade -_-

  • crazy sick motor
