  • Our truck sounds exactly like this!

  • This Seagrave Fire Truck sounds like that Gillig Phantom City Bus, but this Fire Truck sounds more Powerful than that. So the Fire Truck has a Detroit Diesel 6V92 turbo.

  • love that smoke

  • Man this sounds just like WMATA'a Old Flxible New Looks. Awesome!

  • this fire truck looks new

  • yes it does

  • It sounds like a 3.1mpfi chevrolet, even 2.8mpfi of a vulcan V6 gasoline engines

  • You call that OLD????

  • That truck, although it can pass for something more recent is probably a 1996 at the newest. That was the last year that 6V-92's were used in new fire trucks.

  • If it's got a full closed cab, it ain't old.

  • Okay.

  • This wagon is a 1991 Seagrave .

  • We have two sister 1997 trucks (Pierce Lance) that have the older Detroit engines - at least it sounds it to me. Watch my "Child Stuck in Bike" video for the engine I am referring to.

  • WOW!! You're right! Definitely a 2-cycle Detroit in your rig!

  • That truck is a twin.

Out of 5 front-line pumpers in town, 3 have the older engines.

The other front line pumper with an older engine - search "Belgian Way Alarm - Engine 5 - Bristol, Connecticut"

  • This Seagrave Fire Truck with the Detroit Diesel 6V92 sounds like a Bus.

  • It sounds very similar to a Fixable Metro with a VOITH transmission.

  • Flxible...I hate typos.

  • Yeah, that odd spelling was arrived at in 1979, because the company that started life in 1912 as the Flexible Sidecar Company, dropped the first "e" from the proper word to register it as a trademark.

  • Actually, it sounds like a T-drive vehicle (an Allison HT).

  • @brianalexi Yeah it sure does.

  • As for a Allison (the make rof below described HT), unless it has a manual, it wou;d have a HT-70. (Many still have manuals.Around 1994 I was in my daily Pomona L.A> County Fair excursion when I got to sit in an exhibit Mack(tm) fire truck (like the one above, not a hook/ladder) and it had a Roadranger (tm) ten-speed manual transmission (they also have a International Rangers truck elsewhere at Pomona, Caligf. fair with Inter.6-speed manul transmission, but this entry is for fire trucks.)

  • That one time when I was at my House a Fire Truck with that type of noise motor was driven' near my house and on the Levee, and when we heard it, My Sister asked me this, Ohhhhh! Is that a Bus?, And I said this, Noooo! That's a Fire Truck!

  • The thing about paid departments is that there are just too many guys who are in it just for the job. Though the majority are dedicated people who do a good job there are just too many who are not. The volunteers are ALL dedicated individuals who are willing to go the distance and NOT GET PAID for what they do. They do it because they like it and therefore there is more dedication and trying harder to get it right. COG can go shove it.

  • fuck cog. its gay. just another inside attempt to kill the volunteers.....stay strong.. dont let em strip you of the pride...

  • Pacjr310, It Has An Allison HT740 Trans.

  • Sure, it does.

  • better then that piece of shit crimson they got now

  • GOT THAT RIGHT!!

  • IT seats six....and it is the one and only KVFD Engine 51

  • What tranny does the truck have? Sounds like a ZF but could be an Allison. I love that 6V92TA sound!!!

  • HT-748 or an HT-740. No fire truck i know of had a ZF tranny in it.

  • Nor with a Voith DIWA...

  • now ive heard a dumpster struck with a Mack engine and a Voith tranny.

  • A genuine Seagrave with a NICE, LOUD engine!! It doesn't any better!!

  • how many guys inside the truck did it have?

  • m i can smell itluv that sound

  • looks like engine 705

  • You mean Engine 51 right?

  • no,used to be montgomery along with various other counties went to the CAD system of labeling and identifying and there number is 7.

  • No crap, and it's the COG system not the CAD system and it's gay! There is no Engine 705. Engine 705 is a radio ID only. It does not define a Wagon or a Pumper. The COG system totaly removes all the identity and tradiotion of once pround stations and departments. It's one of the first steps in turning the men of the fire service into robots while the public suffers. Call it what you want but I know that is Kensington Engine 51.

  • cog** sory there webster.

  • In Fairfax its called CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch). But I guess they call it a different name in different places.

  • A 6V-53 with a manual trans would sound even better!!!

  • yeah that would sound pretty evil!

  • Check out the YouTube video "Goshen Boyer Engine" for a VERY nice 6V-53 and a manual trans with a 2-speed rear.

  • DETROIT IS THE BEST!!!! firetrucks should sound like this

  • now this is what all fire trucks should sound like, but I'm afraid they are slowly going away...

  • i know, when i was a small kid it seemed like 90 percent of fire trucks and city buses had detroits.

  • nice to hear a Seagrave with a Detroit v6 for a change!

  • That rig doesn't look to be that old. 1990's vintage. VERY nice rig, though. Nice engine sound too.

  • Its actually a 1990.

  • hey thats a good video i was right behind there when u took that thing lol..we should of said hello..keep it cool
