They were young and being put through what Heather eventually called the "major label grinder" at the time. If you listen to uh huh her you will hear a lot of murmurs harmonies and melodies being cannibalized(not good or bad just true).[check out "not a love song" then checkout "misfit" by the Murmurs, parts of the verse are lifted.

Heather's new band "Redcar" is truly exceptional, check out their website by searching for "redcar rocks" on google.

if you listen to the lyrics the line about holding a man's hand is the only line that says "should" instead of "would". to me it's a bitter line: the title of the song being "bad mood", i always thought it was about rebelling against the straight life (the "norm"). this album came out in the 90s, a very different era(but not so long ago), and although both leisha and heather are gay, there aren't really any obvious references to sexuality on this album, except this song. that's my interpretation
