  • I've made this a few times now and its always good - this time I only had grapefruits in the house so I used them instead of oranges and added a bit of sugar to taste. It turned out really good too - in case you ever want to switch it up.

You are very pretty and your carry yourself so well and professionally and seem like a very nice and friendly person... And your voice when you speak is so calm and mellow..   • @Beerformyhorses936 Thanks for your great comment! This BBQ sauce tastes great; I like it better with bourbon whisky in the place of the orange juice. You can play with it and change a lot of things about it to suit your taste!

  • @Seeether52 Thanks--It is a very rich and flavorful sauce. I'm glad you liked the way it came out! You might like it better by substituting bourbon whisky and water in place of the orange juice.

  • Every time you start a video with "Hi! I'm Betty..." I can't help but say out loud "Hi, Betty!" :)

    JimboJitsu echoes my initial thought it the sauce could be hot since you used the seeds of the jalapeños, but I think cooking it helps tame the heat a bit...at least that is my experience with hot sauce. I usually seed and take the membranes out of fresh jalapenos, but the jarred I don't bother.

  • @scarecrow1701 Hi! Thanks for your comment! Actually, I did not add the seeds or membranes of the 3 jalapeno peppers. I just cleaned them up and diced them finely. Removing the seeds and membranes results in a milder flavor.

  • hey betty!! if u substitute molasses with brown sugar, the BBQ sauce wont get that dark color....what shud i do to make it darker and use brown sugar at the same time.?

  • @sabzilicious We are able to get *dark* brown sugar, so that would be a good choice for you. We also are able to get a brown sauce, usually "Kitchen Bouquet," that is generally used to darken and add some flavor to soups and stews. It could be added to the barbecue sauce.

  • @JimboJitsu Hi Jimbo! You may think that this BBQ sauce is hot because of the jalapeno peppers. It's not really hot--I think the peppers are overpowered by the molasses. It just tastes really rich. Thanks for your commnet; there are probably a lot of people who think this sauce will be too hot for them!

  • @memyselfandINICH I made up this recipe by trying many recipes and choosing the parts that I thought would create the best and most unique taste. the vinegar may be any type--white is fine.

  • @bettyskitchen can you substitute ¾ cup molasses with something else w/o changing the flavor too much?

  • @bettyskitchen sweet thanks I got both. I got some ribs and might use that BBQ sauce for them. I got pork spare ribs and I always have trouble knowning when they are rdy.

    Do you have any advice on what temperatue I should use and for how long I should leave them?

    Also do u have any recipes for toddles? my kid is very picky on eating and I gotta make some new stuff.

  • @Fenix333 Pork is done at 155 degrees. I cook to to about 180 degrees to increase the tenderness. I will give some thought to toddler food. I have a 4-year-old grandson around here, who is a very picky eater, too!

    and learning how to be a dad still. It can be very difficult having your kids to eat when they are very picky.

  • @bettyskitchen Hi betty, i have two questions, 1. How much does this recipe make? it looks like 1 1/2 cups to me. And 2. Is it ok to use onion powder,garlic powder and ground ginger?

  • @BlackSkullz09 You're right--it is just about 1 1/2 cups. You certainly can substitute onion powder, garlic powder, and ground ginger in place of the individual minced vegetables.

  • betty, just so you know for the future, youtube extended the time limit to 15 minutes (instead of 10) so you don't need to worry as much about time!

  • @brandilyon Actually Betty is a Youtube Partner. She can make her videos 40 minutes if she likes. i think she only does 10minute because allot of people dont like very long videos.

  • Wow i must try this, because some store boughtBBQ sauce tend to give me acid reflux due to the liquid preservatives added in them. My family is having a reunion this saturday and this will go good with our BBQ, so i might have to increase the ingridients by 3x.   • @BlackSkullz09not the sauce gives you acid reflux , the sodas and beer and alcohol in general that u drink with the bbq raises the acidity
