Personally, started violin lessons before entering high school and picked some piano / keyboard techniques many years later.
At this age don't think anybody in my family had the discipline or the inclination to attempt a piece such as a Bach or Vivaldi concerto at this level.
Very nice playing, excellent technique sound. Somehow after watching for a few minutes feel the movements of the bow look a bit robotic. More natural gestures and expression will come with time...
look guys. I wasn't being mean. clearly stating an obvious fact. I am a violin teacher and I personally don't start kids on things before they are ready for it. If they can't play it up to speed they aren't ready. I wasn't dissing this amazing little kid, rather his teacher.
@Mrtchaikovskyful the important thing is that he's playing it in tune. i think it is better to play something slowly and in tune that quickly and sloppy
Oh wow, ericgable. You're another kid whose parents didn't "force" to do anything. Look at yourself, you see a video of a 6 year old playing vivaldi, reasonably well I might add, and all you can say is both racist, derogatory, and negative. Pathetic.
Agreed. Their parents didn't force him to play the violin, I would think. My parents did, but I never practiced, and now at the age of 12, I'm beginning to regret it. If his parents forced him, I think that he wouldn't play this concerto as well.
OMG he is amaaaazing! great counting, vabrato.. EVERYTHING that was beautiful. i cant even play that and im 13. this child is a prodigy... keep it up kid, you'll get real far.
You can not claim a child is a Prodigy because he practices a song.. All of us is not destined to PLAY or do SOMETHING , we put our minds to it and its because we enjoy it.. Like this kid... he probably didnt put hes mind to it... i really doubt he did but hes good because he practices and always consistant in playing which all you people need to understand ... all of us can be a PRODIGY right... just because you play a hard song at young age p:
well then, fag, time travel back to when you were six! i bet hes a trillion times better then you were!
for the PLAYER, AWESOME JOB! im just playing this, and im 14! you will go really far! lots of talent and potential for you if you keep it up! when your my age, youll be playing like... sizuki book 100! (if they went that hi)
I think that B3llit0 is right. He/she was not criticising the boy; he was mainly telling the boy how to improve. Given his supposed experience, he should know where the boy went wrong. Even though the boy may be "doing fantastic for so young", what hurt is there to improve?
Watch your intonation, it gets a little bit out of control at times. Also be careful when switching strings; I heard a bit of bow noise on those parts. Some of it was a little lacking in expression when I heard it, you might want to work on that as well. You've got a good vibrato already, so nice work there.
On the strong, forte sections, you seem to be attacking the notes a bit too strongly; work on controlling your bow for those parts. Overall, that was played very nicely; well done!
Oh, I'm not a teacher. I've played numerous instruments over the course of about 7 years, and (not to brag) I'm a musically gifted person. I think that gives me the right to give constructive criticism on the playing of others.
yeah he's 6 im sure he understood your constructive comments. if u dun play like him when u were 6 then i think he has very much placed himself far above you.
I did, but I played the piano at that time so it's not a fair comparison. It depends on how long he's been playing, though. If he's been playing for three years and can do that, then I'm above him because I could do that after a bit more than a year.
Also, please watch your grammar-- capitalise the first word in a sentence. What's more, "dun" is NOT a substitute for "didn't".
grammar dun really matter to me so long i get my point across which i suppose i did ? ur funnny i never heard anyone who sees and claim they're musically gifted. i only hear people saying that as a compliment for others. oh wait did u say u weren't braggin?

Please don't expect a 6 year who hasn't been playing long enough to truly grasp the mechanics of the violin to play more expressively. It's surprising he uses any vibrato at all at his age for that matter be able to cordinate the bow and his fingers for that well. Most people don't learn out of second position until they are much older than this. Considering all that..I think he's being as expressive as he can be. He's teacher probally has better input than you considering how far he is.
One thing I do not like about Vibrato is that people are so easily impressed by it. If you can even make a noise that sound like vibrato people seem to think that you are a musical genius. I have seen it used way too many times where I think the person should concentrate more on the accuracy of the notes or intonation rather than rabidly wiggling their arm.

it's eiher grade 3-5 or something. i never liked that song but i'm kinda way past that level but looking back at this kid play...he has a very clear sound and his vibrato is doing pretty good. this is very good for a 6 year old.
oh my gosh.. HOW OLD IS HE? i cant even do vibrato yet . geeeeeeeee. that kid is one of many that will change the world with his talent. and what level music is this?
Bravo Tongzhou! Your intonation is excellent and so is your right hand command. This is one of my favorite Vivaldi concertos. Your ending made me smile. You are very lucky to have parents who support you. Happy Mother's Day!!

it's eiher grade 3-5 or something. i never liked that song but i'm kinda way past that level but looking back at this kid play...he has a very clear sound and his vibrato is doing pretty good. this is very good for a 6 year old.

Bravo Tongzhou! Your intonation is excellent and so is your right hand command. This is one of my favorite Vivaldi concertos. Your ending made me smile. You are very lucky to have parents who support you. Happy Mother's Day!!
