  • is this a free software?

  • @xTheWarlordx

    No, no it is not.

  • @MyNokiaRules yes, yes it is. 2012 student version. No actual legal proof that you are a student is required. but student version lacks rendering capabilities

  • @xTheWarlordx

there is a 30 free trial.. No This product is not free,

  • @xTheWarlordx autodesk, student version

  • gangster walk

  • nice

  • Thank You

  • Ugghh...how did you get that background in the back>>>

  • will motion builder still cheat riggers with that crap and fake stretch and squash?

  • Can you tell how much time for rendering this walking scene?

i'm so worried about long rendering time

    thnx

  • @idinho what's your specs and what renderer are you using tho ?

  • @idinho this is all done real time in motion builder I believe, 2011 has a pretty good RT renderer.

  • someone knows where to download the files fbx of the introduction to motion builder of digital tutors, I have been searching all over and I cannot find, would like your help ppl thanks!!

  • you export stuff by Maya, or 3Ds max 2010. :)

  • I know this, but I'm learning motion builder so I need the project files from the CD INTRODUCTION TO MOTION BUILDER of Digital Tutors, please :)

  • its coming by motionbuilder ,even you download just demo...check your tutorial file of your mbuilder

  • this is amazing.

i have maya but i don't have the motionbuilder.

i wish i did but it's so expensive.

    anywayz great video! XDXDXD

  • There's free GPL software called make humans.

how much CPU power do you need?

I have is pentium dual-core processor. Sorry can't afford new computers during recession.

  • the 2009 version have physics solver? i just got the program. so.

  • amazing, good tutorial

  • what i know want to know is that, can i animate a character in motion builder by adding an fbx file then, render it to after effects so i can composite 3d with live action??

  • I don't know if After Effects supports any sort of FBX (though FBX is open source, so theoretically, anyone could write an importer) However since AE is basically 2d and MB is basically 3d, i think you would be better off rendering a TGA or AVI sequence with MB and importing that into AE for composite.. Or you can export an FBX to Maya or Max and render there (rendering in Maya, Max, Softimage etc. is much more flexible than MB's Rendering).

  • after effects CS4 supports 3d (FBX also i believe) now... but since i do not own CS4, i am not 100% sure

  • ignore those lol/rofl/hahaha post, this is a great video man, i should start learning this software

sadly, i m using Lightwave, i was...just born to use that software and i can feel such limitation when i come to animating a character.

  • These programs are just tools to express artistically, take all you can get. Don't limit yourself.

  • @lass1234

I use it to animate for lightwave. Its so much better, quicker and more powerful. BUt Lightwaves rendering and other features I don't loose either.

  • Heyy do you think motion builder is mainly for humans? And can you do stretchy cartoon animals like in pixar films? Or do they mainly use maya alone for that?

  • @ChimeraProd

Well motionbuilder ready made rigs are for humans and animals but It is a very powerful programme so I am sure with some customising it would be possible to create rigs for stretchy characters. Personally I have not tried that, but I find it excellent for human animation.

  • 3:52 = epileptic shock effect! :D
