@BlaZiiNxIIxGuNn3R one classic is always Paprika by Satoshi Kon, and as for series, you could try Mononoke or Trapeze (both super trippy and by the same director) or a little less known one called Kaiba (very bittersweet, but beautiful)

I've been looking for more psycological and surreal stuff too :]

Even though I do laugh at all the comments people make about drugs and this movie, I absolutely love this movie. It's so surreal and beautiful, and it questions religion -:D and how God is uncaring and happiness can only be obtained through your own actions, not any higher power. That and how it shows love is the greatest thing and what people go through (or in this case cats) to help those they love.

when i got this from the library i thought it was going to be something like a film from studio ghibli would make i was so wrong >.< xDD

the director made the film in memory of his wife who committed suicide. The cat with half a soul is supposed to symbolize her depression, and the male cat is supposed to represent her husband, doing everything he can to make her well again. The ending, where everyone turns off like a television, is supposed to represent death, and how inevitable it is. Even through that long quest, the cat could not prevent his sister's death in the end.

@Lushikinz Nice theory but it was inspired by a comic by the mangaka Nekojiru who she herself is the one who committed suicide and her series was based off of dreams so I figure the director probably just wanted to make it dream like without any further deeper meaning.

nyatta's sister nyako gets sick and dies. nyatta fights Death to try and save nyako's soul but they end up ripping it in half so nyako is only half-alive. Death tells Nyatta where he can find the other half of Nyako's soul, so the two embark on a journey to get it. In the end they find it and Nyako is alive again.
